Hello, I want to bought a multitrack unit for wildtrack recording with a Soundfield SPS200. I have three contenders: Nomad, SD 788T and AETA 4Minx. Looking the manuals, the AETA and the SD will work with Soundfield microphones, both have the possibility of link 4 channel gain and have monitor decode for Soundfield format. Can the Nomad do this? (I can't found the Nomad manual). Thanks!

Here are the circumstances: I have several Lectros in block 24 as well as camera hops in Block 26. I want to re-freq a Zaxcom TRX900 & RX900 set into a legal block. I could also upgrade the receiver to stereo at the same time if that'll be useful. As I'm considering my upgrade avenue, here are some useage possibilities: I may use this Zax wireless on the cart along with the Block 24 Lectros. I may use this Zax wireless in the bag along with Block 24 Lectros and Block 26 camera links. I may use this Zax wireless in the bag as a camera link along with the Block 24 lectros. My inclination is to re-freq the Zax to Block 22. Block 21 is usab…

I would love to find a hard case in which I could store my Petrol/788/CL8/4xSRa bag. Something like a pelican but can't find one. Something like a large lunch box. Any ideas? Pascal

the challenge, easily control levels of tracks 7+. i've got a job starting tomorrow where i've got 6 talent and boom. they need iso's while mixing hop to camera. my first solution was to stick a mic pre in my bag and run into my return 1/2 for tracks 7/8. luckily i had a few ta5 cables made so i could work with those ta5 connectors: ta5f to female 1/8"(camera return), ta5f to dual xlrf and ta5f to ta3f. so i had some options of to ways to get into those additional channels. but then i remembered i had an emergency that I had in my 302 kit, which has ta3m connectors. so for those of us who are looking for some sort of POT/fader for the additional channels t…

Just came across these- they look useful for IFB duties / camera hop and they're cheap! http://www.creative.com/emu/products/product.aspx?pid=18609 Only drawback I can see is the internal battery. The white shiny aspect may comfort directors/producers as it's similar to apple products... Anyone used them?

I just got my new van back () from Third Coast Vans (an Austin aftermarket place) just now and I'm really happy with how it turned out. As I didn't need all that cargo space and wanted to be able to tote my family around (and other folk) safely. I had them wall off the front half and put a removable bench with safety belts. They insulated and carpeted the interior (including the sliding door) and it's a lot quieter up front now. The wall is heavy plywood that I can hang stuff off of in the back. They added floor and wall hooks so there's plenty of ratchet spots. There's enough room for my carts and space on the walls for c-stands, etc. There's also plenty of l…

I need to confirm my order tomorrow for shipment and I am torn between ordering the 6 and 8. I already own a TRX900 with STA150 that records 2 track mixes I send to camera and I also own 2xTRX900LTH transmitters with their own iso records. Will having the 8 benefit me further or is having the ability to have isos on the 6 inputs enough? Open to ideas I haven't thought through yet! Thanks gang! Chris

I'm on set now with several Lectro UCR401 receivers, all being powered by the wall wart adapter in a power strip. When I cycle power for the cart(leaving all the power switches on the 401's in the "on" position), all receivers except one come back just fine. The one problem child powers back up with a black screen, but seems to function properly. Is this a sign that something is wrong with the receiver? As of now it is purely "cosmetic" and is fixed by cycling the power switch on the unit itself, but is this the start of something worse? I haven't called lectro yet, I wanted to check here first... Best, -Travis (P.S. not sure why the pic uploaded…

I just got a used Rycote Windshield Kit 4 and it doesn't have an xlr cable, however, would it still work well if I got the con box cable? I know it will work, but does it attach to the kit 4 easily?

It appears that on the Sony F900 that the mini hp out is mono only and there is no switch or menu option to make it stereo. Can anyone confirm this? I know that the 5 pin out offers stereo but I am interested if possible in making the mini out stereo. Thanks, Andy

I have to feed two Sony EX-1's with my 442. My question is: Do both 442 outputs (the XLR and the TA3M) work simultaneously? If so, I can just use an adaptor cable for the B camera, right? If not, how can I do this? Thanks for any input you guys can offer. Rachel

Came across this in TV Tech magazine and checked out the specs. Looks incredibly good for anybody who wants high def (or SD) pix for post editing and mixing, without having to put any stress on their DAW's computer. And B&H has it for $945. New. Nothing else needed except an SS drive and a cable. Plugs into your DAW's 9-pin port and emulates a VTR. Thoughts? Anybody have hands-on? http://www.blackmagic-design.com/products/hyperdeckstudio/

Hello all! Any ideas for a big, heavy-duty duffle bag for cold/rainy weather gear? Water resistant would be nice, but not necessary. American made, if that's still possible. Travel capable. Hockey bag, maybe?

So I've tried finding someone on the WTB/FS section, but I figured I would ask here too. I'm selling a full PD606 kit with 2 v mounts, case and harness. If anyone is interested or knows of anyone interested, let me know! Also, outside of selling to single person online, are there any other options in selling? Thanks

Hi, I'm looking to connect the 788 to the 744 via the ta3f aes digital outputs on 788 to the bnc aes in's on the 744. When I connect it will only send a signal- ( im sending tone out of 788) if only one of the aes digital outs is connected from 788 to 744. Either output 1/2 or 3/4 can be connected at 788 and it'll send 2 tacks to either 1/2 or 3/4 on 744, but if both outputs 1/2,3/4 are connected at 788 nothing is sent and the aes input lights on 744 start flashing.. Im using 744 strictly for backup.. Cheers James

I recently sold an old MOTU PCI card that I was using for an audio interface with my computer. I need to buy a new audio card and I was wondering if anyone has used an AES card with their Deva/Fusion or another piece of gear for your I/O on your computer? I'm thinking I could pick up a Lynx AES16e card and have that output to my Fusion 12 then analog out to my speakers, thereby using the Fusion as the D/A converters and volume control. Has anyone set up a similar configuration and have it work well? I can't think of a reason this wouldn't work but perhaps I'm over looking something.

I know they have been discussed before but site search isn't finding any results. What is the life span in a um400 or um250 if any of you are using them. I use I Powers 95 percent of the time but I am seeking a better solution then UltraLife or Energizer Lithium 9v for those times when I may need a disposable battery.

I plan to use a Fusion 10 for an upcoming job, my first for 2012. Doing some preliminary setup with the Fusion, I encounter the following puzzle: When I power on the Fusion and activate the internal tone generator, reference tone hits -20dB on the meters, as expected. After spending some time working through the menu, making user selections etc, the reference tone registers about -14dB. I did not change the tone level setting in the setup menu, so I'm not certain why the tone level is changing. -20 should be -20, right? I have tried working backwards and undoing my selections in an effort to get the tone back to where it should be, but to no avai…

With just a 702T and 442, I'm still bag-based and I generally plant myself at monitor when working. However, on an upcoming project, I am told that the director has a thing about not being crowded so I'm contemplating a small monitor that I might somehow mount on my Petrol bag. If it was also a monitor that might be used for focusing with my HVX200A that would be great, but I suspect that would not be low cost.

Hi guys, I have a m216-opt7 transmitter that I currently use in my bag. In the futur, I am building a bag/cart system in which I will use a remote antenna setup for both receivers ( Lectros SRa ) Comtek transmitter. Trew audio is sending me a phase right, a remote audio kit for a dipole and a mini-mite antenna for Comtek. I will try them all on my m216 transmitter. I am wondering if any of you have comments on the different antennas for Comtek. Any experience with the portable M216 transmitter with a remit antenna. Thank you Pascal

Hey all, I have 10 pr-216's (age 2-8 years old)and for my line of work I rarely use them all at once.....and most often no more then five at once. I have a feeling I don't distribute them out evenly so some of them get lots of use not much at all. In the last year I have been noticing a number of them seem to have an intermittent power up issue. They power up instantly sometimes, and other times it takes a few switch flips for it to power up. I was about to box a few of them and send them out to their maker and I thought I would ask......has this condition been common to many of you.....has the switch just been replaced, or was it logic....or do you think the ina…
