Dear experienced Zaxcom users... I am trolling through the Zaxcom manual but having trouble finding the definitive answer to this question. Will Auto-load start and stop recording on the TRX900LTH cards or simply increment the file number? Also to make this happen do I have to have IFB Remote switched to ON as well as Auto-Load selected with TC in from IFB RX src? I am sending timecode from the IFB unit in my QRX100 Of course I will try out all the above options next time I am in the field, just looking for a heads-up Thanks Chris

Hey, My 10-year-old has a favorite set of headphones which are no longer working on both ears. It's on the 3.5mm connector. Need to solder a new one, but it needs to be narrow to fit an iPhone/iPad case. Where can I get one? Or do I need to cut off a molded one off a cheaper set of headphones and splice in the middle (not very desirable)?

Thanks in advance to all of you that would help me (many Zaxcom users here), I have a Fusion 12 and now I'm trying to put together a list of all the things i have to buy to get my first Zaxcom Wireless system, in order to get a quote. I'm interested in 4 Transmitters and so, at the moment, apart from the lavs, i'm thinking about: 4 TRX 900 Lth Transmitters; 2 QRX100 4 Channel Receivers; 1 Mic Plexer + Zaxcom MPCBLS MicPlexer Cable Set; 1 ZaxPaq; 1 IFB 100 Remote Control + IFBANT; 2 WRLSBG Zaxcom Bag; I intend to use them both on a cart and in a bag rig, but mostly on the cart and I've included the IFB100 to control all the Zaxnet stuff on the trans…

I'm first including snippets from the original discussion about walkie surveillance kits with MP3 or IFB option for a refresher... "We have received a lot of requests over the years for a radio surveillance kit that also allows for the use of an MP3 player at the same time. We now have one. An interrupt circuit is engaged when the radio is keyed or when it senses an incoming signal. The music is re-engaged by simply pushing the separate PTT like switch on the cable. $79.95 LSCSURV2-AUD Thanks Steve Joachim Sales Manager / Employee Owner LSC 818-980-9891 x302" Snip-----> Cut To-----> "My playback op Devendra Cleary had …

What would be the best way to rinse (or not to) a country man B3 that fell down into sea water. Do I have to rinse it with the cap on it or without? The best way to dry it? Do you guys think that the B3 can handle multiple fall into salted water?

Hi all, I know this topic has been covered, and I've been busy reading up on past posts, but I just wanted to double check a couple of things. I've just taken delivery of a 788T and was hoping to put together an antenna system using a Lectrosonics SNA600, to improve range for those jobs where I get to sit and might be a little further than I normally would be from 'talent' (I'm a bag mixer for TV/Reality/Ob Doc etc) I know that some are using the Mini Circuits ZFSC41. Is there any difference to this and say, the PSC RF Multi? Do I also need something like the Lectrosonics UFM50 to make up for loss of the passive RF splitter? I'm guessing that would…

Hi guys, Just wondering this drop off is normal or a technical limitation. I am doing a documentary in a small village. Shooting a cemented primary school building with lots of windows. There are only 5 classrooms as the first floor. I was requested from the director, "Not being around during the interview." because mainly it's about the poor condition of the area, and the interviewees cry a lot. so... Obvious with a person holding a big blimp with fur is not something they see it every day . and I have to use IFB send translations back to director and camera. Basically, my setup is Ch1 Boom with butt plug transmitter, Ch2 wireless SMa transmitter. …

Wondering if anyone has experienced anything like this before? Here is the set up: 788T/cl8 powerd by an NP-1 through a bds. Schoeps Cmit-5U is the mic. CC to internal CC on boom. First time working in Europe.... For the last two days whenever inside or close to electronics/power the mic starts making or picking up a crazy hum (maybe rf) noise which increases the closer you get it to electronics... But I have been shooting here in Italy for two weeks already and this just started happening... I have switched to a different cimt-5U once, same problem... Could it have something to do with the batteries being charged on a EU power grid? …

Hi Gang. I'm in Jamaica, and I got 2 different mics on a guy that alternatively went into the same um400a (brand new). Mic signal was sent to a ucr 401, and into an SD 552. There was a 2nd mic on a um 200 & ucr 201 that worked fine. I also had two smqv's sending a wireless hop to 2nd cam. His mic started cutting out. , so I freq'd it, found a clear freq, and it still cut out. Short, frightening moments of electronic silence disrupted his speech. I had the boom on another track, so I was covered. But still, I'd like to figure out why the thing kept cutting out. ...and whether I can use that tx, rx, xlr cable, or sd input jack again. Of cou…

Hey all, I just got a 20ru flight case I'm going to be turning into a vertical cart. I am so far extremely pleased with it in every aspect except its mobility. It does have 4 heavy duty casters on the bottom but we all know how much those will help on location. So I decided to come up with a super compact way to have full size wheels on the back of the cart, but since it was made to travel they couldn't be out there all the time. Here is what I came up with (in design) and I would love anyones input. The parts consist of 2 18-20" wheel chair wheels with 1/2" hubs 2 1/2" quickrelease axle pins 2 1/2" pin receptacles Now in my hilariously…

Hi, Trying to make up my mind on a mic that I want to buy.. Wondering how everybody feels about the directionality of the kmr82 compared to the 81. Need to buy a sharp mic for ext city busy environments. Not too concerned about the reach as much as about the off-axis rejection, that I need it to be independent from the frequency. Looking forward to your thoughts. Thanks! Libero

Looking for opinions on a great all around shotgun that would sort of be a step up from the 416.

Was testing out one of these the other day and noticed quite a difference when the mic was between 3-4ft away from the source. A few inches of distance had a rather drastic change in low end response and general volume (more so compared to other similar mics i've used), so I was wondering if this might seem about right from other owners/users of this mic? I was testing the mic through a Mix-Pre D, no cuts/filters on.

hi guys, what's the advantage of transferring a serial number to someone who's buying used equipment? i've noticed people doing this with sound devices gear. is it purely for proof of ownership if someone questions the gear you have? i bought a used 744 just over 2 years ago but never had this done. cheers, P.

I was filing in a friend of mine on a feature today and used his 788T , CL-8 setup. Went through some test runs yesterday night, before today's shoot and while I was trying shortcuts and routing options a message about the recorder connecting through USB and Firewire poped up without dialing anything in by my side and I was unable to access any of the recorder's menus or controls for some seconds. Didn't pay attention to it and after a couple of minutes the same message came on screen which also blocked me from any access to the recorder. Called up my friend and he told me that on the last couple of weeks the same thing happened to him after upgrading to the latest fi…

Got the board changed in my TRX900AA recently and now, using it with a brand new QRX100, I get that noise in the background. I used to use this Tx with an RX900 so maybe using it with the QRX is different ? I tried different settings but no success... what settings do you guys use in terms of dB levels on your Txes ? What's your "gain structure receipe" with recent TRX900s and QRXes ? Thanks Attached, the file: going (1) from noise of this combo to (2) another mic I got rigged with no noise, then back to (3) that setup which gives me trouble now... I know I know Senator, I'm sure every piece of gear here has been discussed ad nauseum at some point in other forums, but it might take me all day trying to piece it together. I'm putting together a basic eng/efp kit to get into Location sound (have done audio post for 15 years). This would probably be mostly corporate stuff, obviously I'll be limited with this package to what type of gigs I could apply to. I am working with a budget, so Lectros, Sanken blah blah blah are just not an option right now. Please peruse this package for me and give some honest feed back if you could. I'm working with someone at a sound equipment house on the quote and this package will run me …

I've had my QRX for a while now and it has been awesome. Just today I noticed that antenna A is getting strong RF signal yet antenna B is moderate to weak signal with it dropping out even very close to camera. Has anyone else noticed this? I tried switching freqs too. Same result. (null)

Again I seek your knowledge, since my searches have proven unfruitful. Will a um400 tx work with a ucr211 rx? I've got both sitting in front of me along side a um200c tx. The 200's work together, but the 400 appears to the 211 with no pilot tone, and no audio output. Blocks and frequencies are all checked. Any ideas?

Im sure this has been beaten into the ground, but my pre posting search yielded no results, so here goes: I am coming into a couple of Lectro um200C's and like a good boy, read through the manual. In it, it says they work with any Alkaline 9V battery. I have the good fortune to have obtained a *lot* of Lithium 9V's... So the question is: Will the lithium batteries work in the um200C tx or do I need to stick with Alkalines, and why? I assume that the manual pre dates the popular use of lithiums, but I don't want to be too assuming when I come to these types of conclusions, since power issues can become big problems for our equipment. Thank you for your input!
