I use my SD DVD-RAM drive to mirror recordings from the 744T. One night while working on the process trailer, I noticed every time I called "Speed" into the walkie, my 744T would beep, and I'd get a message that said, "EXT Drive Offline". The graphic that showed the available space on the DVD-RAM disappeared, and I'd have to re-boot the recorder to get my DVD-RAM back online. I experienced this again when a P.A. walked past my cart, talking into his walkie. So it seems that my 744T/DVD-RAM drive "hiccups" every time there is a walkie-talkie transmission at close range. Has anyone else experienced this? Lee Ascher Los Angeles, CA

I read a few time ago here on the forum that powering the ifb unit with separate source prevents that eeeeee noise in receivers in the bag. Now, how do you guys manage it? Another NP-1 sled ? Looking at NP-F style batteries which are smaller (thus lighter) with a battsled from Lectro would fit the bill except these batts give 7.2 volts and the ifb unit needs 8 to 18 volts to work... Some use a 9v batt shoe by any chance ? Any suggestion welcomed, as a confirmation that doing so, I'll be able to raise the power output from my IFB100 without noise problems. (of course, I know about Txs and Rxs proximity issue in a bag)

since the Fusion got only a combined TC I/O on Lemo 5pinF I was wondering if there is a existing solution for this: Ambient ClockIt TC out --- Fusion TC in Fusion TC out --- IFB100 TC in Fusion TC out --- CamLockIt / EW100 TC in wondering if the TC signal will be effected when doing y-splitting and one leg is temp. open? Cheers, Matthias

The end summary I took out of it, not a good mic for field use - too noisy, when there are other options, but for you Vin, I think you wanted to me to get some feedback to you from my JW Facebook post...

Hi there, I recently got a zaxcom maxx, love it. The CF card is 16GB Delkin UDMA 6 105mb read and 67mb write... I formatted the card in the maxx... When I copy the marf files across they are reading across at 3mb a second... crazy slow... Is this normal for marf files, or is there something wrong with my delkin?

Hi all, simple question for a Nomad newbie. Can the Nomad output timecode, either through the BNC out or through Zaxnet when playing back and if so what setting will I need to change? Thanks in advance.

Hey, i had a 970 freeze up on me. Was rolling on about 20 tracks. Any advice for file recovery. I am in the midst of trying the SD file recovery program (file safe). Anyone have suggestions or experience beside a reshoot? Files do not show up on the recorder or when mounted to a computer.

So, I decided a few days ago to start "migrating"/adding the fully digital systems in with my existing digital hybrid systems(8x Rx's & 20 Tx's), starting with an 822, because it works with pretty much any Tx Lectro has made in the last 15+ years. My reasoning being that I get the receiver and use it with a set of existing hybrid Tx's(sliding out one of the SRb's) and I can work the fully digital Tx's in until I have a full set of fully digital wireless(receiver, two belt packs and two plug-on's, in my case) and then sell-off the digital hybrid set to help off-set the cost of the new gear. So, my question is, are there any of y'all out there that have bou…

Long story, but I may need to rent one of these this week. Modest budget, would rather not have to ship up from LA. Any suggestions...including locally-sourcable alternatives that'd --maybe-- satisfy a C12-jonesing film producer? Thanks, Jim

Hey all, In San Francisco at the moment doing a reality build show and we need to rent some 2 ways with ear pieces for Tuesday 21st August. We are doing a shoot in Union Square, right in the thick of it, will be madness... The last place we used seemed quite pricey. We probably need up to 6 two way radios with ear pieces. Anyone know a place in San Francisco Bay Area that rents these? Thanks for any help! Jason

I am outfitting my boom op with gear so he can monitor the boom through headphones. I have chosen to just get a Sound Devices HX-3, which I am putting in a Porta Brace MX-24 bag. I send them an XLR out of the TA3 output so I can send pre or post fader output of just the boom (from my 664.) They would wear the bag around their neck (or can it be worn on a belt?) I felt I didn't really need communication via headset mic since I will be probably be fairly close to the boom-op for the shoots I will be doing. So I went this route. Sound good? I figure since they have the mic cable to deal with the additional cable for headphones would not be a big deal. I could even tw…

Just wondering if anyone has had any experience with one of these microphones? in particular with sound devices plug in. Also, it appears that the plug in is only for use with the mix pre series, as opposed to the 8 series. Any thoughts would be appreciated.

I recently purchased the AR788-CL8 case for my recorder/controller and have had trouble with the sides of the case being pulled in from the top/back of the case and either pressing or limiting access to the volume/data entry knobs on either side of the 788. This leads to such fun situations as locking down or triggering the data knob mid-take, resulting in erratic toggling between HP monitoring modes and sometimes accidentally arming/disarming a track or filter when I'm configuring tracks on the fly. I'm using the AH-3M3 Portabrace harness with carabiners connected to the middle cordura strap ring (as opposed to the pair at the base of the case, which tilts the rig down a…

Hi guys, I bought a pair of old Audio RMS 2000 Rx-Tx. I'm experiencing noise bursts/dropouts (see sound example) as soon as I move 3-4 meters away from the transmitter. Any ideas what might be causing this? The frequency range is 507.125/507.625 The antennas look pretty battered, do you think it would help to replace them? Thanks in advance for any tips! bests, Koen soundcloud link RMS2000 test_1.WAV
