Does anyone know the part number for the faders on a standard cl-12? I seem to recall they were ALPs faders. Hoping to order a a replacement without having to open it up first..

A new model, the "Zoom H4essential" just got released today for US$199. Supports timecode, but only via the Atomos (formerly TCS Ltd) Ultrasync BLUE. The new Zoom H6essential (for US$299) also supports timecode via the same manner as well. Is interesting seeing even these very low end consumer products are now kinda supporting timecode too. https://www.newsshooter.com/2024/01/25/zoom-adds-three-new-models-to-its-lineup/

Hi there, Basically, I don't have much interest in microphones focused on musical instruments, but I've just looked at the specification of this microphone and thought it might be interesting to record something other than a kick drum. It seems to have a very flat frequency response with a slight boost at 10k, Distortion, THD < 1% is 156dB SPL RMS, 159 dB SPL peak, Max. SPL, THD 10% is even 164 dB SPL peak. This may be a good candidate for recording a gunshot, an aircraft engine, etc. Does anyone who uses it for PA or music recording have any comments or impressions to share?

Hello Guys. I often use Dpa4097 or Sanken's cub mic when setting up the mic on a table or specific area in the field. Of course, I also use the mic mounted on the Ninja Clamp. What I'm curious about is that Schoeps also has a product called CMC 1 SO, but there is no demo for the product from the Schoeps importer in Korea, so it is difficult to directly check the experience of use, and there are no people active in Korea who use or have used the product. There was no place to ask. I'm really curious so I'm asking a question here. If there is anyone who has used or is using Schoeps' CMC 1 SO, could you share with me how the product compares to products…

Atmos has some very reasonably priced TC boxes that can talk to (they say) cameras, phones, monitor-recorders etc on blutooth, without cables. They also have a TC box with "mini DIN" connectors for TC (Yay! Yet another esoteric TC-camera cable type!). Has anyone worked with their system? It includes video recorders that automatically upload to the cloud on stop, and editing app, etc etc. Impressive to me if it all works...!

I'm sitting here trying to figure out why the newish Hollyland and DJI wireless systems provide both recording and transmitting simultaneously, while our wireless systems that cost thousands more are still held back by a 'Zaxcom patent'. Is it because they operate on the 2.4ghz spectrum? Zaxcom becoming lenient with lawsuits? DJI and Hollyland willing to fight off lawsuits to take market share? Don't see a ton of info on this so any thoughts are appreciated. From a biz perspective, wouldn't it be smarter for the pro level comapnies we use to provide more low cost prosumer options to keep market share? I have been hearing from too many producers and cam ops abo…

Hello all, Anyone have experience with X3, PSC Hydra 6 pack w/DSR4's, and wireless designer or know with certainty about workability ? I know the latest X3 firmware has functionality/control for DSR4's and Hydra. Wondering if the USB connection will allow WD and Hydra control at all even if not simultaneously ? I've heard one at a time (one physically disconnected) which is fine... I'd like to be able to co-ordinate and deploy with Wireless Designer and then monitor/utilize Hydra on X3. Thanks in advance.

I’m curious who has picked up one of the RAD mounts from Radius and what do you think of it? Haven’t seen a lot of discussion about them other than the business side of things which I’m aware of. I’d like to hear from people who have used the new RAD mounts out in the field. I’m a Cinela fan but have also gone with the much cheaper invision mounts for certain mics and have been happy (MKH50 for example which is more forgiving). While I like Cinela mounts for their well thought out features and perfect match approach they are very pricey and I find their full blimp to be kind of heavy and fiddly. It’s great at its job but I sometimes find myself preferr…

This is a weird one hope i am explaining correctly. Using a cedar DNS 2 with digital i/o in the same config i have been for quite a while. Today suddenly i am experiencing +10dB at the digital output only on left channel output. All levels at digital input are equal dual mono levels and processing on screen of the dns 2 is showing equal level processing. Currently set to stereo mode “D1= / =D2”. Very odd as just used the other day with no issues. Started today upon firing it up. Wondering if anyone has an ideas.

Would a passive antenna setup, something like the betso bow ties work well in a big with lectro DSR4 and a SRc if you’re using multiple blocks?

I’m in a scenario where I’m going to have to power a lectrosonics SRc without a sled. What would the downsides be to powering with AA battery box terminated for a SRc receiver?

Hi, I'm looking for solution. I was trying to find it in manual but not sure. I need to A20-T to start record automatically after boot. OR (maybe) Is a way how to use Nexlink to trigger record (A20 receive) My goal is to record everything after the talent is miced. It's a documentary shoot and there is a part, when only cameraman and talent is shooting. And my goal is to have all audio in 32bit in post. I was using a Zaxcom setup in past, where I was able to trigger record with timecode (RECrun) connected to receiver. Thanks for advice.

These 2 Zoom buttons above the jog wheel are not working. Everything else seems to work fine. They just turn red when I press them but no function. I can't map them either in my 833 menu. I saw this in the guide Sel and HP (Zoom) Buttons The jog wheel has two mutually exclusive modes determined by the two buttons above it. SEL (LEFT ZOOM ) BUTTON jog wheel’s rotate and press functions emulate Scorpio’s Select encoder. HP (RIGHT ZOOM) BUTTON jog wheel’s rotate and press functions emulate Scorpio’s HP encoder. Firmware is up to date. Any other things I can do to fi…

I did some testing regarding the latency of my Wisycom MCR54 wireless system and discovered an issue on a different topic. The phase position of my miks is not coherent. My DPA 4040 and 6060 deliver an inverted phase. When I align all my microphones with same distance to the sound sorce ( I used a clapperboard ) all my Sennheiser MKH, my VT506 (lavaliers) show the same phase position , but the DPAs are inversed. Is that commmon knowledge I missed till today ? - Seems pretty important to me. Can anyone confirm my findings ? Regarding the latency That's what I found regarding my Wisycom MCR54 based wireless system: 1.6ms for the MTP40 and MTP41 transmitters (…

Hello everybody, since december Aaton released a new firmware for X3 (Cantar X3 and Mini) to record in 32 Bits. 24 bits is usually plenty enough but it means a greater headrooms for screams maybe. What are your thoughts on 32 bit recording? Anybody already tried it on a full feature/series workflow ? I wonder if picture editors are ready to receive 32 bits Audio. It's no problem with Pro tools though. Thanks and happy new year to everybody. …

Hey all, I'm currently using a Sennheiser EW-D SK Transmitter as a camera hop in my sound bag. I want to leave it tethered to power via the BDS in my bag -- as opposed to using AA's or rechargeable AA's, or the BA70 batteries. So my question is: Is there a battery eliminator that would be compatible with this Transmitter that I can leaved plugged in to my BDS? There's also an open USB slot, if it's possible to go that route as well (USB AA Battery eliminator?) I've found this Bucky-Duo one, but that's about it. https://www.ebay.com/itm/193467068503 Not looking to make one myself either. Remote A…

Is there anyone who's using 600 ohm headset with a Zaxcom recorder? I'm thinking on getting some 2nd hand but unused Sennheiser HME26 but they are the 600ohm version and now I'm realising I've always used my Zaxcom Nova with 100ohms HD26s. Will the headphone out of the recorder be ok with that extra impedance...? Anyone used those before on a Zax recorder? Thank you

Hey all, I’m currently on the hunt for a 2nd set of Lectrosonics UCR411A + UM400. I already have one set in Block 21, as well as a Sennheiser EW DP Camera Hop which operates in 470-526 mHz range. So my question is this — which Block would be be best for a second set of Lectrosonics, that won’t interfere with these other two wireless sets? Or am I thinking about this two much? I’d also like to avoid the illegal US blocks I was under the impression that it’s best for each wireless unit to live in a different block/range, as to avoid any potential interference. But please correct me if I’m wrong. A…

Hi all - I have the new Deity Theos wireless kit and generally find it to be an improvement in every way over my old Sennheiser G3 units. However when I use a DPA 4061 there is a faint but constant ticking sound, in rhythm like a heartbeat. The unit works fine w/2 other mics (Sennheiser MKE2 and Countryman B3) and then the DPA works fine with the Sennheiser wireless. Has anyone encountered this problem? I'm thinking it might be a power issue, but I have the Deity set to provide 5 volts, which DPA says is the minimum required. I can hear the pulsing when I plug headphones directly into the transmitter so it's not being introduced later in the signal chain.

I’m thinking on jumping on the ship of the A-20 nexus and replace my SRcs/SMWDBs. I’m wondering what transmitters to go with. I would like to have your opinion on it. now that the A20-tx is out, is it a better option overall? The A20-TX seems to have a better battery life and more functions. The mini is smaller but battery life seems to be an issue. Do people hide the A20-TX on talents without problem? Is the size comparable to a SMWDB? Thank you, Nathan

So my old Ebtech SwizzArmy is old. I'm looking for something newer that supports a broader range of audio (and related) cables. I'd like XLR, 1/4-inch TRS, 3.5mm TRS & TRRS, RJ45, BNC. Would also like HDMI (full and mini, maybe micro) and USB (A and C) if that's a thing Can live without one or two (probably TRRS). Don't need (but will accept) DMX, Speakon, and MIDI connectors. After poking around at dbx, Whirlwind, Sescom/Markertek, etc I'm resigned to getting two or three boxes. What are you all using and liking (and dropping and still using)?

Does anyone have any experience with Point Source Audio lav mics? There’s very little information on them anywhere online, but their mics actually look quite interesting. More specifically, the CO-8WLh has a pretty small 4mm head which should make them compatible with COS-11D accessories, like Bubblebee concealers, and the mics are IP 57 rated which is great. You can get them in black, brown or beige which I like and they sell interchangeable capsules that can be bought in a variety of colors. They have an updated X-Connector which looks solid and is more affordable than Microdot. Supposedly the X-Connector used to have some issues, but have been updated with locking teet…

Just stumbled on this technical paper on history of Sennheiser's MKH line of mics and what makes the various generations different from each other: https://assets.sennheiser.com/global-downloads/file/11061/MKH-Story_WhitePaper_en.pdf I'd imagine this isn't new for some people, but it was to me.
