I am thinking about building an SKB rack cart. Something along the line of what Mathias Richter built a while ago. In my case it would be a 12 ru case, 2x 4ru drawers and two sliding shelves ( one for a CL9 fader controller. I would then set my bag ( 788/Cl8/SRA/PSC rf multi ) on top. Here are my questions. 1- I need to fit a set of quick release wheels on the case, something like 16" wheels, any ideas, is the case strong enough for the stress of it? 2- Roto molded or the standard case? Which one will be more resistant to the mods. 3- how to install a set of handle so that I can steer the rack around but still keeping the back and front lid removable? 4-any s…

I have a large SKB case with pluck foam and wanted to try and make the case have 2 levels. I'm having trouble figuring out a sturdy way to separate the levels, but does anyone have any suggestions?

Where do I get these dividers that would maybe fit in the SKB case, as well as the Pelican cases? They'd have to be deep enough for the largest SKB/Pelican Cases. Thanks for an info to follow! Steve

I was pretty happy to get my SL-2 to go along with the 888. But I've noticed much more RF hits and hyper-sensitivity to my LT hop transmitter (which rests outside the bag) with my SRc receivers in the slots. It triggers the yellow LED antenna load lights all the time, and creating audible hits at times. Odd...since my other bag is TINY with a MixPre3, the same LT hop and the same SRc unit/s in close quarters with zero problems. Same frequencies used. B1 for both the hop tx and the SRc units. Anyone else having issues like this with the SL-2? Thanks!

Hello everyone! Has anyone created any kind of adapter for the audioroot/remoteaudio smart battery to be used in the internal NP-1 slot of the SL-6? The guy in the video below MacGyvered a solution (@ 09:36), but I was looking something less invasive (or negating a warranty). Thanks!

So I noticed that the nomad doesn't allow me to route the slate mic or tone to card tracks 5-8. In place of it is the return 1 & 2. My initial thought was that i don't like that, what if the poly files were split to mono? you wouldn't have the audio slate on each iso. That got me wondering what tracks others send their slate and tone to? Just the mux track? All tracks?

Hi guys, I am new for the denecke TS-C slate. I took a few pictures during the shooting for my sound bag and the slate. I found out that the slate TC is 3-4 frames faster than my nomad tc. Is that normal or I did something wrong. We were shooting 29'97. I have read the "error 30" issue. My slate setting is 1 My nomad is 29.97 Than I did a test on 25 for check with cable connected to the slate. But still 3 frames... I sent an email to denecke just now. But I just also want to hear from you guys. Appreciate your guidance. Hiro

Anybody know of any manufacturer who makes a whiteboard slate that has a 'Sound' section for the name of the sound mixer along the the Directer and Camera Op? I was thinking I would be well served by having a dumb slate with me as it is frustrating how many camera people and productions claim they don't need one (or don't own one for whatever reason), so I thought I'd get one where I could put my name on it. Or maybe a manufacture that makes them custom ordered? Suggestions?

After 6 weeks of watching my beautiful Deneke TS3 EL crash to the floor/sidewalk/road/puddle. Being glared at by the 1st AD when I need to change batteries in it. After 6 weeks of watching my two ACL 203's have their expensive cables yanked/plugged in the wrong BNC ports/complained about by the DOP's for adding weight. Double and triple checking my 788 display with the slate and the camera timecode with the complete and utter disinterest of the entire camera department. With the minimal rental fee for these 3 items, the mental energy wasted managing batteries and damage control for what is truly a known problem. The problem being that we have stable timecode an…

I know cheap and good usually don't co-exist in our world or for that matter anywhere else. However, i am looking to get something that is not super expensive and super-accurate as well. Any pointers would be appreciated. warm regards -vin

In my quest for the most compact bag possible, I purchased 2 x SMa transmitters to pair with my SRa receiver to use as links. I realised the more I used them, that the SMa's are really cumbersome when used as link transmitters. Two things really bothered me. The main one was that there is no confidence monitoring, in that I couldn't just look down easily and see the LED's bouncing away, as they are on the side of the unit, not on the top like the UM400's. (I did lose transmission once too!! The battery door came lose enough to kill the power, and I didn't know until I did my regular check, lucky for the backup in the 552!!) The other issue is that the un…

I quite can't remember how to up the power of my SM transmitters past 50 milliwatts. I remember pushing some buttons with the unit off, but can someone refresh my memory, please? Thanks in advance!

Hey all, Im using a PSC sma multi rf distribution. Does anyone know if the unused SMA connectors on the distro box need to have 50 ohm terminators on them? I am only using 5 out of the 8 pairs of outputs and am getting all sorts of RF interference that I am not used to getting. Worst culprit is the AD's walkies (Ch 1 is set to around 750 mHz), I'm using primarily block 21 (550 mhz). thanks

All I know at the moment is that the sales department is making a video involving an SMa transmitter, a potato cannon and wind chimes. They have been very tight lipped but I've garnered that it doesn't involve shooting wind chimes or potatoes at the SMa. That would make too much sense. Best, Larry F Lectro

I don't have any Zaxcom gear to hand, so can I ask someone who does - is the antenna connection on Zaxcom receivers the same as that found on Lectrosonics SR receivers?

Hey all, I've got an SMa on set here - connecting to UCR-411a. I'm getting levels on the transmitter (so the lav is fine) as well as full RF on the receiver, but no audio on receiver. I've checked all the settings on the receiver and can't find anything wrong. Also sent to a different receiver and had the same problem. Different freq, no change... Any thoughts?

Hi everyone, Hope you’re all doing well. A junior soundie here. I’ve run into an issue with my recently modified G3’s. The units are suffering terrible drop outs when the line of sight between transmitter-reciever antennae is broken. Unfortunately that includes the talent whose back the transmitter sits on. I can’t help but think that this isn’t supposed to happen, and I’ve somehow made a mistake along the way. I follow Steve Oakley’s youtube tutorial, got my connectors from ebay and am using remote audio sma whip antennas. Are the sma units supposed to be this directional? If so, what is used to overco…

Anyone have this happen? We went to change the battery and when powering back up, it started scrolling through frequencies. No buttons would work. Had to pop the battery out to reset, but it never came back. It would lock up and not work at all. Needs to go back to the maker... Video of scrolling: http://flic.kr/p/8sjgE3

Has anyone removed the flexible aerial on a G3 TX and replaced it with either a surface mounted SMA or BNC socket? If so how difficult was it?

I have a couple of Zaxcom bluefin antennas I picked up second hand. Can anyone recommend a decent, lightweight ready-made cable I can buy to connect them to my Lectro SRa's, for bag use?
