Hi all, I recently purchased a used Blk 25 Lectrosonics 211 with its respective 200c transmitter. Everything seems to be working properly, the only problem is when I turn off the transmitter, the receiver sends lots of noise into my mixer. Any ideas on how to fix this? I dont have this issue with my other Blk 21 & 24 (same model). Thanks,

I have a situation where it would be great if i could extend a lavalier microphone cable by 8-10 feet. I understand it is unbalanced, it has voltage in it ( which would drop over distance because of the cable resistance ). But as anyone done it? I have a show that requires we follow a car ( in our own car ), and i would like to mount two DPA mini-cardiod lavalier on the sun visor but mount the Transmitters on the rear window of the car, possibly extending the antenna to go outside thru the windows or simply using the quarter wave whip with the beltpack on the rear window. Thank you Pascal

Hello all you great sound mixers! Does anyone use any block 26 wirelesses in LA? I'm looking at buying one and wondering if I'll have enough open frequencies here to warrant the purchase. Thanks so much! Janet

I just upgraded to the MixPre 10 II, and it does not work well with my Orca OR-30 bag. The combination of the weird Hirose power jack on the bottom and the entry wheel on the right side makes using the OR-30 awkward. Has anybody had the same experience? Any recommendations for a better bag?

Hey all, im about to enter the world of Zaxcom, switching over from Sound Devices. I've been using a 788 with CLWIFI in a bag for pretty much any job. What I loved about this was entering notes in from my iPhone using the CLWIFI app and subsequently being able to send off my PDF sound report at the end of the day with all track naming, Timecode and note metadata embedded. As I understand, there's nothing quite like that for the nomad at present. With Nomad touch it seems you can do something similar, but CSV instead of PDF and using a windows tablet instead of our iPhones. The last thread I could find on this topic on JW was dated back to 2013, so I thought to ask if…

Is there a contact cleaner brand that is recommended to use on lectrosonics Transmitters? I had two of mine serviced here in Toronto by Lectrosonics and they are like brand new. What is safe to use? B

Hey Jon and the SD Folks, How about a software upgrade to the CL-WiFi App? There are a few features I'd like to see: 1. The ability to enter sound report information and edit reports via the App. I love how easy it is to name tracks and all that with the current app, but was somewhat surprised that I had no access to the Sound Report menu and information such as Production Company, Job, Boom Op, etc. Seems like you'd want to be able to use the App to enter alpha-numeric data in any of the fields in the 788. 2. I wish the CL-WiFi app would somehow remember my track names like the machine does. Sometimes I need to swap the name on track 1 with the nam…

I've had two DPA 4063's fail on me on the same talent the last two times out on my current show. I've never had an issue with these mics before and this guy doesn't sweat. My only thought is that because he insists on having the transmitter in his back pocket instead of mounted on his belt he is sitting on the connection and tweaking it. I can't be sure until I get them both checked out but on visual inspection all seems good and nothing looks broken in the connector (3 pin lemo for Zaxcom). Anybody else experience this with these mics? It's not interference. It definitely is a problem with the mic. Both times I swapped out for a different mic and was good for the …

I'm using a Nomad and changing frequencies on TRXLA2.5 units. I've been accessing it through the ZNET button on the face. Once in the ZNET screen I change the freq using the menu button. It takes me a time consuming amount of twists to get from 550 to 600. Is there a quicker way? I apologize if this is redundant but I cannot find it in the manual or in a JW search.

Howdy, trying to build a breakaway cable that sends both L+R audio from the mixer to the camera, has the return feed from the camera AND carries timecode. I tried using the SC8/NC8 solution from Neutrik and grounding to the shell but I still get bleed of timecode on the return audio. I need more pins! I know lemo would make a killer solution and a costly one. Any good ideas on a push pull or latch lock connector with 9-10 pins? The hirose 10 pin is just a little bulky and cumbersome. Thanks!

Hi All (especially Deva users), My local dealer has a Remote Audio HD Caddie (not the more recent Caddie to USB adapter) for the Deva IV, V etc. that hasn't got a home. What is the advantage of using this as opposed to the generic one found in the Devas? Can it hold an SSD drive for instance or any other plus points to getting this? Thank you, Wil PS I've tried and failed to find the Deva II group on Yahoo - any ideas?

I’m relaxing by window-shopping for boom poles today, and I stopped by Ambient’s site. After watching their rather amazing Quickpole product video, I noticed that they offer an interesting flow-through, side exit option for their cabled poles. Here’s a coiled-cabled QXS with that option: The only cabled poles I’ve used so far have all had built-in male XLR connectors, so it led me to wonder: What advantages would a cable exit offer over a fixed connector?

Has anyone had any experience with this themselves? I know that this is mostly a camera department concern for some, but sometimes they ask us to do it(not the case here, however). We are shooting on 2 HVX cameras recording to P2 cards, and the camera guys can't figure it out, even with the manualsand reference books. They can't find the proper menus to allow this to happen, and apparently just connecting a Firewire cable doesn't do it:) Anyone know the procedure and menus to make it happen? Or even a link? Thanks

Is anyone using the Batteries4Broadcast Li-ion NP-1s? It looks like two of these and a Comer Charger would be quite a bit less than one of the idx starter packages. I'm currently using a Sony BC-1WA and a couple NP-1 Ni-Cads that are about gone. Searching around the net I found this (only Ni-MH) but I would be scared to try and carry that on a plane - looks kind of suspect. I talked with Ty Ford the other day and he uses something similar to the battery pack (for laptop/portable dvd players) I think ATS is offering. I'd really like to stay with NP-1s though so I could also use them in my 8044Q monitor. David

I was shooting yesterday when the erx feeding the camera suddenly sounded like an 8 bit distorted signal. Like if u took a clean signal and distorted and 8 bitted it. Now today. 3 within 2 hours of each other have done the same thing. I own 6. 2 r still good. Just bad luck? Anyone experience this? Only about 6 months old.

Writing files back to DV824

I am having no luck writing files back to the HDD on my DV824 from my computer. This makes it a little difficult to transfer work from the 744T that I have had out on run-around work. The only way to do it at this time, according to Fostex, is using an Etherlink cable and an FTP. A USB/Firewire interface is expected "soon." I can transfer files off the DV824 but not onto. Error say simply "can not write file." All discs are unprotected. Fostex USA is a bit stumped and Fostex Japan hasn't gotten back to me yet. Maybe someone on the group has figured out the solution. D.

Hoping one of the many Deva users out there can help me out, because the manual is woefully ambiguous on this subject: when any effect (eq, comp, limiting) is applied to a channel, do you have the choice as to whether you apply it to the channel at the prefade, or before theix bus? Ideally, I would like to leave the isos raw, and only have eq and comp in my mono mix. Thanks in advance for your help, Adam
