Is the Lectrosonics WM tx still watertight when used with the ACOAXTX remote antenna? Does the sma connecter in the antenna have an o-ring or something to stop water entering? If not, how is the standard antenna made watertight?

I ordered a new housing tube for my CMC 6 because it was looking a little ratty. I didn’t realize how much schoeps change color over time! I would think it has to do with either exposure to the oil on your hands or air as I can’t remember the last time a actually touched the Cut60. Curious why it changes so much.

Which sensitivity b6 do any of you use? I have a "red band" version that seems excessively noisy on a "normal" voice. I had it wired at Pro Sound, so I don't think it's improperly soldered. Just wanted to check if anyone else out there uses this combination. Greg

I have a possible upcoming job starting on Wednesday, which would entail using at least a 4-channel mixer in a bag (ENG/Run&Gun - 2 lavs on talking heads & either a boom or 2 more lavs on guests/talent)... I currently use a Wendt X3, which works quite well for most everything I've done to date (Indy flicks). I know the different mixer options (SD 442, SD 552, Wendt X4, PSC AlphaMix) but I have a couple of questions: 1) If I rent a mixer - should I rent the Wendt X4, since I'm familiar with the layout, or go with the SD 442 since it is the preferred mixer? 2) If I rent - who's the closest to Boise, ID that can ship the quickest? If I buy a mixer I know…

Hi Gang. I'm in Jamaica, and I got 2 different mics on a guy that alternatively went into the same um400a (brand new). Mic signal was sent to a ucr 401, and into an SD 552. There was a 2nd mic on a um 200 & ucr 201 that worked fine. I also had two smqv's sending a wireless hop to 2nd cam. His mic started cutting out. , so I freq'd it, found a clear freq, and it still cut out. Short, frightening moments of electronic silence disrupted his speech. I had the boom on another track, so I was covered. But still, I'd like to figure out why the thing kept cutting out. ...and whether I can use that tx, rx, xlr cable, or sd input jack again. Of cou…

I'm considering the possibility of purchacing a DPA 4060 after watching an RFLO Sound video on youtube. In it, he was comparing the DPA 4060 with the Sanken COS-11. After doing my own research I noticed there was more than one version of the DPA-4060 such as: the DPA 4060-BM, 4060-OC-C-B00, 4060 Hi-Sens. What's the difference between all of these? Also can I purchase them with adapters either, Sennheiser or Lectrosonics? I want to be able to work with both.

Hi all, Having an issue with one of my SMQa's and wondering if anyone else has experienced something similar. Using Powerex 2700mAh and Immedion 2400mAh. Tx will go through the 1/2/3 Lectro bootup sequence, but when both Audio/Freq buttons are released the Tx shuts down. If I keep holding the two buttons it continues to cycle through the bootup sequence. I emailed Lectrosonics tech support but was not given a satisfactory answer and when I replied received no further correspondence. I assumed it was a battery issue, as I tried a fresh pair of Energizer lithiums and the Tx powered on with no issues, but I have another SMQa in the same block that does no…

I'm going to be setting up a Buddie of mine to record a speaker at a conference in China. He's just going to set up one wireless Sennheiser G3 and a Zoon. Anyone know if the frequencies are a problem in China? If he takes wireless from the US, any problems? Thanks -Richard

I have a couple of Lectrosonics plug-ons and an IFB T4 which I'm hoping to use for a recording in NYC next month. Being UK based, they are on Lectro block 606 which covers the upper end of block 23 and the lower end of block 24. Can anyone please advise as to whether these frequencies are a) legal suitable? Cheers.

Couldn't find a thread where this has been discussed, so I'm starting a new one. Actually I haven't even been able to find it on the Sanken page, but here the IBC 2019 coverage on newsshooter:

Got some more air traveling gigs coming my way, and have been wanting to buy a much shorter boom for easier packing. Before I was taking my 12' Loon with me everywhere, which was not very easy. I tried a few months ago to special order a custom Loon shorty, but I think this request happened during their drama and got ignored. So far I've been looking at the K-tec KE79 but wanted to hear from any other users what they might recommend, or perhaps if they have anything like this to sell?

As some members here who I have recently hired to sound mix will attest, I MUCH prefer to hire pros to mix sound. But for those low end projects where there simply isn't the budget for a sound mixer on set, I am looking to buy one or two bargain Lectro 400 sets. Lately I work mostly in LA, which blocks should I look for? Seems like block 19 commands a used premium but not sure about if those are people in LA snapping them up? According to the Lectro chart, I should be looking at block 21 and 22 for LA, but I know there is no perfect block to get and that no matter which I have, it may not work well in a particular area. I found a used UMR4…

Ive been on an under armour shoot all week and my wireless had been fine up until the last day where my radios, no matter what frequency they were on, output this weird white noise. It wasn't steady but modulating. Came in through my TX, but didn't show up on my RX AF levels, but heard it in headphones... Any ideas as to what it may be? I checked every frequency I both A and B bandwidths and tested on COS-11's, Sonotrims and ME-2's...

Hi all, Just wanted to report on some experience I had with the JK Audio Dapter Two http://www.jkaudio.com/daptor2.htm In the end, it works very well, and is passive so what you put in is what you get out. But a word of caution for those purchasing it. I needed to do a last minute VO at a remote location. It is for a TV show and the EP always is patched in to direct the recording. Talent was at a place where cell phones worked, but, no land line. Easy solution, get a Dapter Two. I ordered it -- and a Real Traps Portable VO Booth -- but early enough so I had some time to make sure it all worked. Product arrived on Tuesday, I left on Friday. Scant documentat…

Hey guys,I am in the market for some wireless handheld microphones for AV hire use. Mostly corporate gigs at smaller venues and no more than (4) mics at a time. I've been doing some research and see a lot of negative comments from the pro community regarding Shure BLX. I don't know much about RF and was wondering if any of you all could help me understand if/why they are a poor option. Thanks!

Ok... I live in the United States... so I am going to list things I find that are manufactured in the USA. I encourage people from other countries to perhaps do the same. Buying domestic products support your country's economy and help the environment by reducing shipping (and most countries have better domestic environmental policy than larger manufacturing countries). These items are not always more expensive, or the difference is marginal. On a recent search for expendables, I found Made in The USA... I've been using my new 788T for a couple of days now on a new series. It's mounted in my cart, near my lectrosonics Venue system. Whenever i hit record on the 788T 2 of my wireless channels get interference. I haven't had much time to trouble shoot yet, but I'm wondering if anyone has experienced this and if they have any tips to try and solve the issue. I'll try physically moving the recorder further away from the Venue, but the cart is pretty tight and I'll probably only gain 4-5 inches more distance. Besides, the receivers antennas are about 4-5 feet above the cart. I heard the 744T used to have similar issues. Was the interference with the 744T frequency related ? …

Hi all, Most bizarre RF interference from Sony HD Cam HDW 750 on my lectro radio mics. Twice on a series, weeks apart, no other occurences, using radio mics all the time... Problem: sounds like noisy "breathing/beat" over my radio mics, cyclical, spacing of about 5 seconds. All is OK on rehearsal, but when the cameras roll, the hit comes, similar to cellphone hits, but not! Very quiet room, 20ft from tx to rx. Different frequencies each time. Audio quality is unaffetced, the 'noise' is 'over' the audio. Has anyone had this before? Any solutions? Has anyone ever tried to electronically 'blimp/shield' a HD camera, I know they are basically just one big RF generator, but …

Hello everyone! On my next movie there will be a lot of phone calls inside a car. They go either to a normal phone or to the speakerphone of the car. Although most of the dialogue of the callers will be replaced by different actors in the end, I still need to be able to record the signal and send it to my ifbs. Is there a special piece of equipment I could use? Something to put between a headset and a cellphone to split the signal going in? My other thought would be to use a third phone and use a groupcall function but that would mean, that I will get the signal of both ends and I only want the one from the caller. Any ideas? Greetings and thanks in adva…

" Federal Communications Commission's proposed expansion of Part 74 licensing eligibility for wireless microphones: The FCC has set a very short deadline of February 20, 2010 for wireless microphone users to submit comments regarding the importance to them of wireless microphones, personal monitor systems, intercoms and wireless assist devices in their businesses and productions. The FCC hasn't reviewed the rules for Part 74 of title 47, Code of Federal Regulations, under which wireless mics are classified, since 1977. "They were written for TV networks and broadcasters," explains Mark Brunner, senior director, brand management, for Shure. "They were the only pe…

Hi there, Have just purchased 6 TRXLA3's and my sound assist cannot pickup confidence monitoring on his/her erx reciever. Its strange, The Zaxnet frequencies are the same and the ERX's light goes green to show a signal is being picked up but alas nothing can be heard (record beeps or audio). Via UHF the QRX235's I have in my cart can pickup the TRXLA3's uhf signal fine, And The ERX's can pick up the QRX's IFB transmition (on a different 2.4 ghz Frequency) fine as well. But the signal from the TRXLA3's zaxnet output direct to the ERX's (1st gen and latest gen) cannot be heard. Which is challenging as the Sound assist needs to hear the beeps to confirm that …
