Hi All, At the risk of sparking derision from the veterans, I have three Sonotrim lavs (all with external powering units with battery compartments). How can I know whether they are positive or negative ground when run through lectro wireless units, in order to ensure that they are not out of phase? I also have an equal number of TRAM 50's also with external units, some with battery compartments, some without. The question would also extend to these mics, and mixing them with the sonotrims. Thanks RL

Hey everyone, So I just upgraded from G3's to some Lectrosonic SSM's and SRc receivers, I went with the SREXT back plate to power my units. However, given this is the first piece of high end gear I've purchased I was unaware that the SREXT's included "power cable" only had connections at one end and had bare wiring on the other. I have a BDSv4U to power them off of a NP-1 battery, but I'm not entirely sure what to do about the power cable. I can't seem to find the correct connection for the BDS and want to make sure I get the right one before I go slapping on the wrong one. I just did a quick search on B&H and found these but I'm not 100% sure that it wi…

2 questions if I may... I have found this on second hand pages here in ZA sennheiser mkh816t about $150 I have an old 302 which can handle it I think being T-Power. I dont think my SD 633 will though. Do converters work, is there a 'trusted' brand to get a T-Power mic working on P48 gear? Secondly, Im a sucker for a bargain and love 2nd hand trawling. Is the MKH816t worth a shot at 816? At that price its almost, never mind the quality, look at that length. Im sure I can find a use for it one day....

Thinking of buying a small recorder to put on any camera (DSLR, Weapon,... ) that have poor preamps or on people where HF is problematic (Cuba,...) or even to replace the Wireless transmitter, so I look at this PDR device and find it interesting. I was also thinking to use the minijack output to record the signal on the camera where the preamps aren't great, but I don't have any unit to know if the ouput power is enough to feed a good level for DSLR mic type of input. What is servo bias type inputs? Can I use any other mic level output to feed that recorder? Any coments on the unit would be appreciated. Thanks Pat

Hi all, Just about to receive my Neumann 191 and had a thought about the bulky matrix box that comes with it. Is it required to encode/decode MS or can I plug straight into my 633 and do all the matrixing through my recorder? Seems like a hassle to carry the box around unless there is a better benefit to the box I don't know about. Thanks!

Hi, I am having a spring clean of my surplus gear stored in the garage, and was wondering where best to list it for sale. I have a 788SD which was my backup recorder as well as a bunch of LECTRO gear - multi-couplers, VR Venue, Transmitters, COMTEC gear, plus a SOUNDFIELD SPS200 Mic with breakout cable etc. I don't think this sort of kit would suit EBAY, any ideas?

The awesome Mike Babcock at BEC turned my crappy drawing into an excellent bracket for attaching a receiver (RX200 in my case, but whatever fits into a BEC box) onto the Sony F55 with documentary dock. Just tested out the prototype today and it works really well - allows all the BNC's for SDI outputs to connect and pass under the box. Obviously the finished product will be "BEC black" but thought I'd put this up here in case anyone's looking for something like this...

Hello everyone, I've ben using my lectro HMA plug-on TX (band A1) for about a year now; for cart based scripted stuff and one man band bag work as well. I've been loving it up until recently when I started getting all manner of motor boating, crackles, and ticking. I've sent the unit in for service with lectro and Trew Audio has generously set me up with a loaner in the the same band in the meantime. Unfortunately, I'm still having some of the same problems; specifically the motor boating. I tested it out this morning and it seems when I move the TX back and forth (using just a little more force than it would get being swung around on the end of a long pol…

Hi guys, ive recently purchased an SRc and SMQV transmitters, and am thinking of the best way to transport them. I mainly do bag work and at the moment and when flying I just put my loaded OR32 bag and all other gear into my Peli 1620. I’m wondering if I should have my lecro wireless stuff in another smaller pelican inside. My Sennh G3 (which I use just for wireless scratch) has its own box so perhaps I should be looking after my lectros in a similar way! Would love to hear who other transport their SRc, weather you leave it in the bag or have a seperate case/bag for them. Thanks!

Hi. I have the Lectrosonic UCR110 + UM110 in Block 33. I also have the according frequency chart which ranges to 861.900 at coarse A and fine B. I was curious and set them both to coarse F and fine F and they are working. Does they go higher up in frequency or does they stop at 861.900 ?

Does anybody happen to have the instructions for waking up a battery with the Audioroot eLC-SMB charger? Mine seems to have been misplaced, and I can't find the info anywhere. Unfortunately with the time zone difference can't call France from the US.

Hi. Does anyone know how to modify the stand alone adapter Ga 3041-C to send out from the headphone out from the EK 3041 receiver? The manual say it's possible, but not how to do it.

Hello, I am trying to learn about occasionally and temporarily augmenting my bag mounted Lectrosonics SRc receivers with supplementary antennas mounted up in the air on a pole. For the foreseeable future It's unlikely that I will make the leap to using an antenna distribution system and multiple receivers. I am primarily interested in being able to quickly hook up one SRc and cover an occasional long distance walk and talk shot with two radio mics and then resume a day of near proximity scenarios. I started experimenting with some home made dipole antennas and they have provided an effective improvement in range during testing. The Lectroso…

Hello all, I'm about to fabricate an expanded and this time consistently color-coded set of audio cables (length matching jacket color). The primary use is live location work around the US Capitol - lots of hallways, rotundas, etc. This time, while making up individual XLR-terminated audio cables, I am also going to take an 'umbillical approach' between fiber interconnect box, camera position and correspondent position (which is up to 25 feet from camera, but rarely more than 12 feet away from the lens). Traditionally, the signals between these 3 locations include mic audio, phone audio (IFB), and HD-SDI signals, using mini-RG59 cables. …

Hi all, I want to add a 4th receiver to my 688/sl6 setup and would like the antenna to go through the RF distribution system of my SL6. I was thinking of adding a SMA T connector to one receiver in the SL6, have the 4th receiver plugged on one side of this T connector and into the SL6 on the other side. Has anyone already tried this? Is there any reason that it wouldn't work? Is there a better way to do this? Thanks, Ben

Has anyone has serious issues with the LCD screen on their 664? I turned mine on a couple days ago and the screen was almost monochromatic. The color was intermittent, then red lines started to cover certain parts of the screen. The issues hasn't repeated it's self since then, but I'm sure it'll just give out while working on set if I don't get it fixed. Unfortunately, my mixer about 5 months OUTSIDE of the 2 year warranty and Sound Devices won't cover the cost of repair or the parts. I'm curious if anyone has had similar issues? Pictures are attached. Thanks! Damen

Hi all, So I’m finally looking to upgrade my multiple Sony UWP systems to lectrosonics, and am particularly looking at the ar dual receiver systems, mostly to save space in my small orca bag and keep my rig pretty mobile. I’d like to know the main differences/advantages of the src over the srb or even the sra. I’m aware it has trackinh front end filters similar to the 411s, as well as smart sync infrared syncing, but what about audio quality and range? I can pick up used srb systems for substatially cheaper than src. Will these still be a good purchase now that the src is here? I am mostly in the commercial and corporate …

Does anyone have any advice or information on the best way to clean the connections on a Schoeps CMC 4/5/6 and the capsules (MK41 specifically)? I have a CMC4 that was modded by Pete Verrando to P48, so apparently Schoeps won't clean/service it. I had an issue with humidity when using it a couple months back and I have read that it may be because there is some dirt or debris on the connection. I am going to be putting a Cut 1 filter in place so I'd like to get the connections all cleaned up and then leave it screwed together to protect against further humidity issues. Update: I found this short piece from Redding Audio: http://www.reddingaudio.com/downloads/Sc…
