Jeff, With your new layout, when I cut and then paste a section from another web site, all of the HTML formatting clutters up the text. Is there any work around established on this -- besides not copying text from other sites? RL

Hi Jeff, Thank you so much for hosting such a wonderful collection of interesting topics and group discussions on so many different topics, I enjoy reading and learning about so many different things each time I visit the site. I agree with ,and admire, your extremely "open door" policy of welcoming all who would like to join the conversation, but would it be possible to allow us the option of an ignore button for individual posters? I find a very select few posters deter from the threads on a regular basis and I would like to not see these posts. I have seen and used this option in other groups but I am not sure if it is an option here. Thanks again! Ch…

Hi, Some obvious spam has crawled over the wall. Using the "report" function at the bottom of the page however seems to generate the error: "error, no moderator found." Celac

Hey Jeff, I had some questions about working within the laws of the UK when traveling there with US wireless systems. I found an older thread (Wireless frequencies in London and Dublin) that approximated the issue and it seemed a good jumping off point (plus to let you know I did try at least to research the topic before posting about it), but when I posted a question, it showed up for a while on the list. Went back a few hours later to see if there'd been any response to it, and it was completely gone. No reference to it. Couldn't replicate the same search that led me to it. And plowing back through my computer's history, found the url but came up with a "no longer…

It would be nice if the members have a picture in their profile. If everyone had an avatar of some sort I could recognize more easily a comment that the individual posts. That would help me because I would recognize the name of the poster and the picture. Its fine to just have a pic up for a while and if you dont like it you can change it, but everyone should have a pic. I think That Jeff made this request a few months ago. thank you carry on

On this forum, how do you insert just a link shortcut as apposed to inserting the entire address as the hyperlink? Such as : "link here" instead of "http//:etc.com" Thanks

I tried to post a new poll in "Daily Journal"--nothing happened when I pushed "submit" (edited fine). Are polls not working now or did I screw up somewhere? Philip Perkins

I was thinking back to only about 3 years ago when this website was full of so many questions on format issues track layout and everything related to switching in to the multitrack format. Our side of the industry has adapted so quickly to the rapidly changing styles of shooting and this website has been of great benefit. My Thanks to Jeff and all the knowledgeable posters who made the big jump much easier. We sorta create our own standards here it seems. A very organic way of adapting. Patrick

Hi Jeff, I am having no luck in sending photographs. I keep getting " the file is to big" but the photos I was trying to send ( 4ea ) are all sized for e-mail. So what am I doing wrong? Thanks, Kevin Sorensen

Greetings Jeff, Have you ever looked into providing 'closed' areas? It would seem logical that in order to have most mixers talk opening about clients, that we need some sort of protection from retribution. There have been cases where a mixer has talked frankly about his experience on a set, only to find that a client did a search from goggle, located the thread, logged in and responded... This of course shuts down any more chat about the subject, and makes everyone look really bad.. Wouldn't it be nice to have an area where you can go share your experiences, without the fear? I know that the job, of verifying mixers to make sure they are mixers would make more w…

Hi Jeff, When I log on , I normally click straight to the 'Show New Posts Since last visit' link, where there always 10 or so at least. The last few days there have been none. Is no-one posting, or is there an issue? Best Regards Roger Slater Malvern UK

Hi Jeff, Something has changed for me since the hack. I've got the permanent log on selected but I'm still required to log on each time I come to the forum. After I log on it indicates that I've been logged on permanently but that isn't the case. Curious. Thanks for a great forum. Its good for and efp/eng guy to hear about the film side of things primarily. Regards, Bernie

Hi Jeff, I was just wondering if you could point me in the right direction regarding personal video monitor rigs for boom ops... I just ran into a recent contribution of yours on one of the other forums after a key word search on the subject. I figured if anyone would know... you or maybe Scott Farr... Thanks : ) -- Tom Taylor tom@taylormadeaudio.com

It seems that few folks on the forum log on "forever" (or else they are great about logging off), so maybe the default "stay logged-in" time should be one hour??

Hey Jeff, it looks like you run both of these - I could spend my days swapping between ramps, cinema sound, jwsound, etc but I think one good forum for all sound mixers across the globe is needed. I'd like to email some of my friend sound mixers and tell them to use one to increase its awareness. What would you suggest?

Often when I (in Sydney Australia) am looking at the main board & the latest posts with their posted time beside them. I often wonder what the current time is for Jeff Wexler Discussion Group central. Its a curious little infatuation with the knowledge of this aspect, that I have developed. Would it be difficult (or is anyone else interested) in this eventuating??? RS

Jeff, Watching "The Family Stone" right now. Did you do any acoustic treatment while on those Interior shots?. Doesn't seem to have a lot of echo in the dialog. Can I also assume this is a Tour De Schoeps mic choice?? Thanks, Mark L
