This is something I've enjoyed in other forums and have wished it were here for years. When I click on a thread with unread replies, it would be great to be taken directly to there, instead of the beginning of the whole thread. I have tendinitis from a computer job in the 90s and my thumbs do not enjoy all the scrolling around at all. This would save so much of that it's silly. In fact I've gone months without logging in because of it. I realize this might be a heap of code and also that online forums are somewhat antiquated so it may not make sense to invest in this. I am not on social media so I will be here to the end, and I would love save all that scroll…

I like the new site design and features, however, I am stuck in a password reset loop whenever I jump from desktop version of chrome to mobile. I delete the auto-fill fields and manually re-type my username and password, but I am unable to log in. The reverse is true if I reset my password on mobile Chrome and jump to desktop I will be locked out on my PC. It's a real pain having to reset every time to log in when jumping platforms. I had no issues with this on the previous site build.

Hi Jeff and Gang, No big issue but I thought I'd mention that when I've been posting today I've been getting some messages after I send the post (see below) : The posts seem to register fine. No problem for me but thought you may like to know. Anyhow, thanks and hope you're having a good Labor Day. Hey Jeff, I can't seem to find the thread in which you provided a link to foam filled wheel chair tires and casters. Any chance you can point me in the right direction?

Recently I've been randomly getting "Resource Limit Reached" errors while browsing JWSound. Usually waiting a bit and coming back takes care of it, sometime browsing to a different topic works, sometimes just a refresh works, sometimes not. This is not all the time, but often enough that I thought it worth mentioning.

Hello Jeff, Could you consider having a "Postproduction" category? I know another member suggested this a while ago, to which you replied that "Workflow" sort of served that purpose. I think both could actually exist because it is clear from reading through the topics in "Workflow" that there is a lot more discussion about production issues and themes that AFFECT post, rather than genuinely sound post issues and concerns. I am aware other sites cover sound postproduction in a very thorough way ( Post forum of gearslutz, e.g.) but I have a feeling many JWSound members have, like myself, an interest and active work in both fields, which actually are part o…

The best thing so far for me with this move has been the improved look and feel when using the iPhone app that this site offers. On the old site, I had to use Safari, and it was difficult to view and navigate. This new site is great when using the iPhone, using the app(free) or Safari, which appears to be the same.

Hey Jeff, hope all is well and the new film is fun or at least rewarding ($$$$). I just read your review/thoughts about your new Zaxcom radios over on RAMPS and was wondering why you didn't post them here as well. I guess it really doesn't matter. Maybe typing it once is enough. Just sitting on stage w nothing better to do than ask stupid questions. Oh wait, this is the place where there are no stupid questions..... CrewC

Since I started to regularly read the topics on this site, I've been thinking about the occasional threads that ask very basic questions, mostly in the "general discussion" and "equipment" sections (as for instance the current ). There are often many members that are kind enough to give good and simple responses to them, but sometimes they are just told to read previous threads, and at other times they result in a bashing that ends up insulting both sides. I think the problem mainly lies in the fact that this is a site aimed at professionals, and that doesn't seem to reach all who visit it. Maybe there should be some information aimed at new and less experienced membe…

Hello Jeff, I would just like to thank you for providing such a sound community assett. (yes pun) I obviously appreciate being able to air my wares so to speak, however I hope I am doing it in a costructive community way. The other thing I do appreciate is being able to digress in any given moment to the plethora of interesting topics. I am after all a sound person, have been now for something like 40 years, things don't change. When I next do an update on my own website, I would like to add a link to your site, if you have no objections. I believe the kind of information available here is a valuable learning aid - for old & young alike. Also noticed on your Web…

I was just about to post another reply to the lively thread about Poor Rado's difficulties getting his new toy into service. I agree with what you said about it not really being appropriate, especially as Rado seems prone to issues, and is also intent on not dealing directly with his dealer or the manufacturer, (remember his issues when he bought his Wireless, or his DPA Lav's ??) and many of his concerns seem to end up being operator errors, However, the thread did have some useful value, including the idea that including an approved media with products that record to media would be a good investment for the manufacturers... I think that the replies were bringi…

Note: Jeff here, as Administrator, I am able to EDIT posts which is what I am doing now. This post, which is basically an image since you were unable to enter text, shows up in the regular Text Editor box that I am typing in now. This is a very weird problem that seems to be affecting a few, mostly located outside the US. I will continue to try and get to the bottom of this.

Hey Jeff, I just had a quick question, been looking to build my own vertical cart soon, I've been reading old threads about your new follow cart, the 80/20 material, and all that jazz. Anyway my question was, after youve got the framing down, excuse me for sounding naive but what did u use for the base of the shelf and how is it secured onto the frame? Thanks in advance!

Hi Jeff, I'm not sure if this happens with others here: At JWS, I need to search out anything "BDS". I put in the characters BDS into the JWS General Forum search engine. I get zero results. I then enter the characters "Battery Distribution System" in the same search engine window at the General Forum, and up comes results that defy the result of my original search. I accidentally find that the third post in the search results have the characters BDS in it. Seems to me that third result ~ the one with OP's characters "BDS" (being parseable text in a topic title heading), should turn up in my first search (the "BDS" …
