" to consider what the leadership of this union has wrought upon this business. " which union are you referring to?? This article is a bit light on details, but it seems the police car and its occupants suffered most: A Portland police patrol car carrying two crew members from the television show "Cops" collided with another car Tuesday night, police said. http://www.officer.com/online/article.jsp?siteSection=1&id=48627

The news broke yesterday, thanks to Nikki Finke but I'm late in cross posting this. Weinstein Co's Dimension Films Stops Pre-Production On 'Halloween 3D' "So here's what happened: the script only came in Friday, and it was the first draft that Dimension Films had seen. And The Weinstein Co was rushing to get the film into production for a November start date in Shreveport. Bob Weinstein shut down H3D pre-production "because Bob just felt it was rushing too fast." Now Dimension plans to start the film after My Bloody Valentine 3D helmer Lussier is free." Hi sound friends, BE AWARE I got a message recently that Professional Sound Services is under new management. It said " PSS has not gone away... we have simply moved" So I contact the new management to find out about an item I had there which was under consignment. This is what they wrote to me : Looking into the old business (Professional Sound Services Inc) past accounting records - your item was sold back in September as per the attached order. It would appear that you were never credited for it - I am sorry, but you will need to take this up with Rich as we only bought the physical assets from him and not the liabilities or business. Al…

Smithsonian/Folkways bought Chris Strachwitz's Arhoolie Records. I personally think this is great, and means that all those amazing Arhoolie albums will still be avail in some form after Strachwitz shuffles off (he's in his '80s). This is great approbation for a life's work preserving our musical heritage, well-deserved. They ought to give Chris Strachwitz one of those Presidential medal things for all he's done.

After the other incident that we just learned about, here is unfortunately a second one. This time the police punched a sound technician in the face, who lost three teeth and got a fracture. https://www.bz-berlin.de/berlin/friedrichshain-kreuzberg/journalistin-ins-gesicht-geschlagen-ermittlungen-gegen-polizisten With her, was also six colleagues that apart from being eye witnesses also filmed. She will try to press charges.
