It is becoming increasingly difficult for me to authorize new member sign-ups. Those wishing to join should use something in their chosen login name that would let me know they are a real person wishing to join. The spam bots never use regular names but real people should --- this will help me sign people up quickly. Thank you, Jeff Wexler

Another wonderful get together this last Sunday ---- huge thanks to Chris, Steve, Devendra, and to Alicia & Biff for having us all in their backyard, and to Gene Martin for supplying all the great food! It was a glorious event I look forward to every year, bringing us altogether for some great socializing.

http://www.nytimes.c...-is-tapped.html September 26, 2011 Kodak Stock Dives After Credit Line Is Tapped By ANDREW MARTIN Eastman Kodak has been struggling to reinvent itself for decades. So when Antonio M. Perez, the chief executive, announced in July that he was confident that Kodak could transform itself into a profitable and sustainable digital company by 2012, many investors were skeptical. Nikki Finke: 'Ugly Betty' - Which Prompted California To Pass A Law Named After It - Will Shut Down End Of March This afternoon, the cast received notification that it's the last season for Ugly Betty -- and that ABC has cut its order by two episodes for this season and the show will now wrap at the end of March. The one-time award-winning hit show had been Thursdays at 8 PM, but then switched to the "Friday night death slot" of 9 PM during this 4th season, then settled into Wednesdays at 10 PM in the former Eastwick spot. As an insider told me at the time, "We've been getting great reviews for the se…

She illicitly dubbed thousands of foreign films, distributed on VHS tapes, turning B-movie stars into heroes. From this NYTimes article: http://www.nytimes.com/2014/02/18/opinion/vhs-vs-communism.html [Ilinca Calugareanu] "I was raised in Romania in the 1980s, under a Communist regime that, among countless repressions, reduced television to two hours a day of dull propaganda, traditional music, patriotic poems and censored films. One day when I was 6, my parents found a…
