By looking at the specs I do not see a reason why it should not run snow leopard operation system since snow leopard is a PC OS. I am not very happy with the video card but for nothing video intensive it is an excellent little device. Wave agent anybody?

NYT ...comments invited.... http://www.nytimes.com/2011/02/23/technology/23apple.html?_r=1&scp=3&sq=Apple%20Says%20Chinese%20Supplier%20Made%20Changes%20After%20Suicides&st=cse February 22, 2011 Workers Sickened at Apple Supplier in China By DAVID BARBOZA SUZHOU, China — Last week, when Apple released its annual review of labor conditions at its global suppliers, one startling revelation stood out: 137 workers at a factory here had been seriously injured by a toxic chemical used in making the signature slick glass screens of the iPhone. Apple, describing it as a “core violationâ€ of worker safety, said that it had ordered the contractor…

hey gang, I finished my site a few days ago on iweb and so far so good. I realized today that the photo album page no longer functions as desired. It did before, and I have not messed with it, so Im a little confused why it would why. The "slide show button" is no longer active, and when you move the cursor over the individual photographs it changes to the hand, but once you click on it nothing happens. Again It functioned properly a few days ago, and seemingly out of nowhere, it now doesn't. Any pointers?? http://web.mac.com/indaudio

We have installed a brand new 24" iMac at the Union Local 695 as part of the work being done by the newly formed Education Committee. The plan is to have this Mac available for our union members for training --- everything from basic computer skills to file management, Pro Tools, Boom Recorder and so forth. The really good thing about the Mac is that with Boot Camp we are able to have both a beautiful Mac running OS X AND a Mac running Windows for those who wish to get some training on that platform. Courtney installed Windows XP and his BWF Widget Pro software on the iMac and we anticipate that we will be installing more software, both Mac and Windows, in the near future…

Hey iMac users, I have an iMac from about 2007 that just started shutting itself down randomly. In the middle of normal operation it will just go black as if the power cord was yanked from the wall. Other electronics on the same surge protecting power strip continue to operate normally. After the crash pressing the power button starts up the iMac normally. No warning messages from the OS appeared either before or after the "crash". The only other x-factor is that this behavior just started since I moved to a new apartment and i'm suspicious that the electrical system in the house is old and maybe causing the protective circuits built into the iMac's PS…

Dave Fisk asks: "Are there any free anti-virus programs for MAC?" I am changing the subject heading so that we may talk about the very real issue of virus protection. The way I see it, the Microsoft macro virus problem is very real and Macs can be infected (but not affected) and pass these viruses on t other Mac users and PC users. All of the rest of the virus things, trojan horses and such, even if received via email or the web to the Mac, are highly unlikely to be passed on to anyone else. So, if there is a simple and free utility for the Mac that will just check any Microsoft Word document that we have to deal with, either generated by us or sent to us, then that w…

These are not necessarily sound apps, but they are possibly of interest to the internet addict. I especially like the Add-Art for Firefox. http://visitsteve.com/work/selfcontrol/ http://visitsteve.com/work/add-art-art-replaces-ads/

Just upgraded to my new 15.3" Macbook Pro. My old Powerbook G4 of course had a modem where I could send faxes over my land line. I used FAXstf Pro. What do you recommend for Internet faxing? There are multiple choices that give you a fax phone number and use email. The costs are all over the map, from about $17/mo. down to about $3/mo. Your experiences and advice will be appreciated. Also thoughts on any FW800 - FW 400 hubs, etc. Of course the moment I purchased it, I read that Apple now delivers them with non-reflective screens. I'm used to this. RL

I want to update my Ipads and Iphone to IOS 8, but worried about any issues that might come up with Movie Slate. Has anyone updated to IOS 8 and still using Movie Slate with no issues ? Specifically using Movie Slate with Timecode Buddy sync feature ?

So here I am seventy years old and after fifty odd years in the business I have been dragged not quite screaming into the 21st century by the purchase of an Ipad 3. I told the assistant editor that I was thinking of sending the sound report (Once I'd bought the software) on PDF by email. "No bloody good to me I haven't got internet and what's the point of separating the sheets from the CF card as I need them both at the same time to sync rushes." I thought the lad had a good point especially his edit suite is less than a hundred feet from me. So I beg the question of all the people doing sound sheets on I phones, I Pads or android whatever what do YOU do with them? …

I see that the iPad has an accessory that allows a CF card to be directly connected to it. Given enough memory, would it be possible to copy several gigs of audio off the card to the iPad, then transfer that audio to another CF card? Does the iPad have anything like the Mac laptop "target mode", where it can be hooked up to another computer as a storage device? The iPad has USB i/o--could a USB hub work on that port (and would the iPad "see" two CF readers w/ two cards at the same time)? thanks phil p

every time i have upgraded the os on my ipad 1 i have noticed a resulting overall slowness in the browser. it has recently come to my attention that the upgrades are tweaked for the processors of the newest ios devices and running the upgrades on older devices results in problems. when this occurs the natural solution would be to downgrade to the previous ios and resolve the problem. however, apple does not allow that and while it has some good reasons to do so the downside is that many devices are forced into obsolescence. there are workarounds for these problems and they are sometimes specific to the ios versions you have on your device, but, from what i…

If you would like to update your phone a few hours before its officially released. http://www.macrumors.com/2008/07/10/iphone-2-0-firmware-5a347-available-early/ Once again, digging through Apple's XML files has revealed the url to the iPhone 2.0 Firmware that is presently available on Apple's servers. One of our readers found this new firmware image: iPhone1,2_2.0_5A347_Restore.ipsw (http://appldnld.apple.com.edgesuite.net/content.info.apple.com/iPhone/061-4955.20080710.bgt53/iPhone1,2_2.0_5A347_Restore.ipsw) This build is slightly higher than the one of the latest iPhone Firmware Beta (5A345) which was also spotted on shipping iPhone 3Gs. Despite the filenam…

Anyone that knows me well understands that I am a complete apple freak. However, today I ran into a little issue that made me look like a fool on my job. Just so everyone knows, when you flip the "silent" switch on the side of an iPhone, it will mute the phone. However, it does NOT mute SIRI. You must manually turn her down. I had my phone in my back pocket on what I thought was 100% silent mode. I guess my butt cheek activated siri, and it started talking to me saying I don't understand. Just letting everyone know so it doesn't happen to you.

So I've tested FreqFinder on iOS 8 on my iPod touch and the simulators that Apple provides, but I don't have a physical iPhone 6 or iPhone 6 Plus to test on. Does anyone have an iPhone 6 and FreqFinder? Does anyone have an iPhone 6 and wants FreqFinder?
