I've always been hesitant to get into the still picture clusterama that celebrities sometimes endure. This one I could not resist... and someone thought my avatar wasn't a real Gator... so here, meet an uninvited guest star posing with yours truly on a Barbecue Cooking Show shoot... we didn't feed him and shortly he returned to his trailer in the swamps...

I was just catching up on Season 5 of 24 from 2005 -- what can I say, I'm sometimes a little late to come to the party -- and fell over laughing when a surveillance scene came up. It seems the schizophrenic First Lady received a call from a former President warning her of a grave threat to the country. But the recording of the call had been altered, changing the meaning. They played the recording for the current President using this 744: Much to my surprise, this one seemed to have a built-in speaker, too. Anyway, I found it amusing to see a modern device like this used as the new Nagra SN, or whatever spy gimmick they're using in movies & TV shows…

Photos of the latest Chinhda cart. This example is about to be shipped to the client. The mixer is an AD149 and we can now add that to the list of mixers we are able to provide with fitted brackets. Others include: Sonosax SX-ST (both standard and compact), Sonosax SX-S (the classic, now discontinued), Cooper 208, Cooper 106, Yamaha O1V and Deva Mix-12. The red bar across the top is the new rack mount LED light. (limited examples also available in blue) The white in the monitor frames is paper protecting the Lexan covers from scratching in shipment. About a year ago I posted a couple of photos of 1930’s film production of believed to be Swedish . At that time I said I had lost track of this fascinating archive, but recently a young colleague chanced upon it on the internet. http://www.filmsoundsweden.se/ljudbilder/sf_bilder/sf.htm The captions are in Swedish, but using one of the online translation sites helps a lot! Enjoy Mutt n’ Jeff

I spent almost three weeks in Haiti working on a documentary called "Inside Disaster". We had been on standby since September waiting for a natural disaster to hit, somewhere in the world. On two occasions we had been told we were being deployed, but cancelled at the last minute (Philippines for the floods and Indonesia for there earthquake). When news came of the Haitian earthquake and how big it was, we knew this was going to be it. Our Documentary focused on the International Red Cross's response to the disaster. This was the first time the Red Cross had agreed to let a film crew have total access and follow there every move. We were 2 teams that went down to Hait…

I'm sure most of us have seen one of these in their travels. I saw my first one about 15 years ago on the Pennsylvania Turnpike, the familiar pine with green paddles. I saw them in Germany 2 years ago, but this reminds me that they are all over the world: http://www.thedailybeast.com/blogs-and-stories/2010-01-07/this-is-not-a-tree/?cid=bsa:topnav:artb#gallery=1182;page=1 I must admit I've never seen one with street lights attached to it.

Here's a picture of the filter system we built to further improve wireless range. Custom filter, then a very clean amp, then isolated distribution. It helps. -Eric

This was put together for a small job and hard to get at location. Didn't need radio mic's for this job, but they could have been mounted on this Milwaukee dolly also. Worked well on this rainy & muddy shoot.

So you hear the director yell "Jets!" - This is because one actor said to another actor after the first few takes, "What's our cue to look up at the jets?" Ummm... perhaps when the JETS fly 150 feet over your heads! I their defense, we shot this a few days earlier without the jets because of bad weather, and they were all given a cue to look together. But without being told what to do... kinda reminds me of this great clip from "Extras". http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=43sbtkQM6zc
