I recently worked on an episode of Panorama for the BBC, and I learned that last week's episode covered the first and only British interview with Ed Snowden in Moscow. The interesting boom stands/arms/hardware caught my attention, so here's a screen capture. Discuss... Here's the episode if you wish to watch it.

Wolf Seeburg sent these to me, I don't know where he found them. It is hard to imagine that these are real devices. I guess the only way to detect incoming aircraft was to LISTEN!

Hi All, I've received a few requests to 'show my stuff'. But you're all a bunch of cheapskates. Not one $5 bill in my g string! (but I'll check the rest of my guitar when I get a chance). Anyway, here's the messy cart with my new Deva 16 and Mix 12. Also includes 8 Zaxcom radios, 2 Audio Ltd receivers, rf splitter amp, Comtek transmitter, Zaxcom IFB, WinRadio Spectrum Analyzer, 2 monitors, Mac Mini, Power Supplies and Distro, Antenna Mast for UHF and 2.4 gHz, Comtek Antenna, Presonus Firebox, etc. This cart covers just about all my recording and playback needs. It weighs in at 210 lbs. Now if I can only figure out how to get the pictures on here.... Hmmm,…

You can tell I'm bored with the continuing WGA strike when I line up my 'collection' of Blue tooth earpieces that I have amassed over the last three years. I'm a big fan of the earpieces as I hate holding my cell phone, actually a PDA, up to my head. I like to be 'hands free'. In the photo attached from left to right, you can see I like the earpiece to have an 'earbud' to improve hearing the caller on the set or in noisy locations. Here are the brands: (L - R) Jabra BT250, Jabra BT500, Plantronics 655, Aliph 'Jawbone'. My new favorite is the Jawbone which has an excellent noise cancelling feature - allowing the caller to hear you really well in very noisy environ…

I thought it would be fun to post a thread with screenshots of movies, TV shows, etc. that have made it to broadcast with some form of the sound department's operations visible within a shot. I see this stuff all the time when watching shows and movies, as I'm sure others do, and I'd love to see what you can all come up with. From Damages - Boom op made it into this shot: From Homeland - What appears to be a COS11 in a Hush Lav: From somewhere on YouTube - What the *&^% were they thinking?

I met soundie Don Kron a while back and he had a cool belt clip for his boom. It's from Lowe's and it was very inexpensive, so I got myself one. Thought I'd share!

So we got ourselves a driver about 4 weeks into the film. Military supplied Toyota Hilux. Our driver is Otto. His truck has many bullet holes in it, some of which are viewable here.

These guys really made a great product! Heard that this might have happened on "Brother and Sisters" when their camera truck caught on fire. Crazy how that camera still survives! http://www.facebook.com/pages/ARRI/75451039060?sk=wall
