Zaxcom upgrades Zax-Net time code capability. The Zax-Net system of time code, IFB audio, wireless remote control and metadata distribution via 2.4 GHz RF signal has had its time code capability and accuracy upgraded. With the ERX1TCD IFB audio/time code receiver the Zax-net system can deliver time code anywhere on the production set with an accuracy of +/- .01 frames with no drift. The ERX1TCD can now also delay or advance its time code output up to 10 frames to accommodate the picture delay that often takes place when video is converted to a different format. The ERX1TCD can also delay its IFB audio output as well so that both time code and audio will match picture…

There's a good chance that I'll be heading off to Greece for a few weeks this fall for a reality shoot. I was told we'll be shooting in and around the Ionian islands and wondering if anyone could suggest a place to rent sound gear. Mixer, boom with mic, 2-3 radios. Preferably some place that has waterproof transmitters available as we'll be on the water nearly the whole shoot. I don't think anyone will be IN the water, but I'd rather be safe about it.

Hello, Since my rack drawer thread went a bit astray, I thought I'd post a link to these guys here. Thanks to Richard Lightstone's recommendation, I found a great local resource for rack gear, sheet metal fabrication, and powdercoating. They build on site right here in California. http://www.rackman.com/ Robert

It was 12 years ago (2 July) that four of Shure's top folks declared their independance and left Shure Brothers, and formed their own company to make top quality audio equipment for professionals --some of which has even been sold with the Shure name attached! Congratulations to Sound Devices on 12 great years, and many more to come!

Hi, Apart from B&H and Gotham, what other stores that sell sound equipment are in New York? Also, are there any in or close to Boston? I have some family going to the US (from Australia) for a wedding soon and I'm thinking I might get them to bring some new toys back for me!! Thanks Peter Mega

This is the same type of output lead set I first built for my own bag with the 442 and 744T. It has full metal bodied TA3 connectors and Neutrik XLRs. This setup allows many variations of easy rooting, mainly switching between a stereo and mono mix recording with a second pig tailed TA3 on the CH2 output. It also includes a 3.5mm TRS to TRS cable for the monitoring of the 744T on the B return. Find it here... - http://bluecowcables.com/product.php?id_product=66 I'm also trialing free world wide shipping! Many Thanks, John@bluecowcables.com

Introducing the LAV-BULLET... The easiest way to wire talent quickly and less obtrusively. Connect the LAV-BULLET to you lavalier (using either the Switchcraft connector (Lectrosonics) or attach the 3 pin Lemo adapter (Sennheiser/Zaxcom) to help minimize the amount of time it takes to wire talent. The weighted bullet literally “shootsâ€ down the outift of the talent with ease, allowing you to get on with your duties, rather that wait for them to shake their leg or reach up their shirt - just to get the connector down! Each Lav-Bullet is made from a high grade stainless steel and is machined by hand. They are then laser engraved and buffed to beaut…

This week Zaxcom will deliver to its dealers in the US the ERX1 and the ERX1TCD. This is a new classification of product that replaces the traditional monitor receiver used on set and the time code sync boxes used to provide time code to slates and cameras. The ERX1 is a monitor receiver with time code display. The ERX1 offers audio quality unmatched by any FM monitor system. The all digital transmission system offers excellent range and fidelity. No noise or distortion can be introduced in the transmission making critical monitoring possible via wireless reception. Script supervisors can use the ERX1 to monitor audio, time code and meta data. A time code display hold…

Hello, My name is Allen Rowand, and I work for Metric Halo; I heard about the board from Peter Schneider from Gotham Sound, as well as Graham Gardner. We get a lot of input on our products from them, as well as Darren Brisker, Paul Ledford and others. I wanted to let you know that we're introducing a new interface, the LIO-8. It's built with the same sonic quality as our flagship ULN-8, but leaves out the mic pres and +DSP license (it includes the basic 2d plug-in bundle with M/S decoding, a channelstrip with gate/EQ/comp, etc). I think it's a great choice for cart based work; you get 8 channels of top quality A/D, 10 channels of top quality D/A, built in analog sp…

Zaxcom has just released new software for the ERX1TCD that perfectly interfaces to the Canon 5D. Using an off the shelf 3.5mm cable, audio and time code are sent to the camera at mic level. No modification to the ERX1TCD is necessary. The time code is bandwidth limited and at a level that prevents crosstalk to the audio track. The ERX1TCD is a audio/time code RF receiver with built in time code generator providing a consistent time code feed under all RF conditions. Audio is transmitted via 100% digital transmission for a compander and noise free result. Software version 2.09 on the camera is required. Glenn Sanders President Zaxcom Inc.
