I challenge any bag or accesory manufacturer to make a waterproof bag cover that is light, packs small, deploys while on the run and can actually operate the mixer with ease under it. Thinking of a backpack style rain cover that has elastic ir draw cord around it that covers the front and sides of the bag with a clear viynl top flap that you can easily get hand under to operate. Eg. Petrol clear top organizer bag cover that has an elastic wrap around ripstop bag for the front and sides.

Hey Guys, Finally, This is the second of the AO bags to go through the redesign process. Of course this bag is obviously very similar to the previous AO-1.5, the main change is the internal dimensions of the bag. Its the smallest of the AO bags. A lot of enquiries about the handles, pockets and modular sides have been brought up. I am dealing with quite a few requests for custom variations of the bag. I'll be sure to post pictures of these custom requests. Also, If certain customer adaptations or changes prove to be popular, then more than likely, that may well be an adaptation that can be permanently made to the factory stock AO. Thank you again for all you…

Ambient Clockit Network - the next step in digital content production workflow As typical set-ups in film and multimedia productions get more and more sophisticated the extensive use of metadata has become essential for an effective work flow. These data are embedded into the files of the respective machines on recording. However, since no common file and metadata structure has been settled, each manufacturer saves in their best suiting configuration. Additionally, there is no interchange between the different recorders on the set which results in the need to extract and consolidate metadata tediously in post. This is where the Ambient Clockit Network co…

I will start a new thread here because I do not believe it is right for it to be on a thread started by our competitor to promote a new feature. The items that are being asked for from Zaxcom are for the most part simple display or operational things. We will be continuously updating our products as we have always done. Some or all of these things will be added. As for any reason for an update to be made based on the feature set of a competitive product, I would think that a trip to Zaxcom.com to read the feature list and specifications of Nomad would clearly show It is a product that has major feature advantages over any competing product. Neverclip 18 chann…

LSC just received its first shipment of Rode NTG-3 Shotgun Microphones. Our unscientific side-by-side test this morning with a 416 using a Sound Devices Mix Pre was a bit of a shock. To our ears (and there were four or five of us) the mics were sonically identical in almost every way. Cosmetically, the mic could almost pass for a 416 if not for the unique pattern on the interference tube end cap and feels just the slightest bit heavier. We knew that the folks at Rode were going after a piece of the premium mic pie with a new product but, at $700.00, this mic is quite a revelation and a value. $750-$800 is the going rate for a used 416 in good shape. I can see this being …

Just a few words to let you know I signed up and will check the pulse of RF discussions from time to time. I'm the General Manager for Professional Wireless Systems which was founded by James Stoffo. Most of you know us by our Helical antenna which Dan described as lookiong like "something out of Babylon 5" and others called it the "top hat". To my knowledge, the only two antennas on the market today for UHF utilizing circular polarization is our Helical and the Sennheiser A5000CP dome. A couple answers to questions or misquotes I have seen: 1. The Helical is a passive antenna, no power required. True for the A5000CP, also. 1a. For long runs (greater than 1…

Nomad is now shipping to our dealers. The current feature set includes all basic mixing and recording functions including many features not available in competitive mixer/recorders. In an effort to have total transparency and make sure that all customers are informed of the availability and status of nomad features both current and future, Zaxcom has asked its dealers as the last point of customer contact, to be sure to advise each customer of the status of the nomad feature set at the time of purchase. The Nomad feature set has many unique advanced features not found in any other mixer/recorder offering. These features will be activated through software upda…

When do you think SD will come up with mirroring, is there a time frame? Is someone working on this? They make nice machines but they seem pretty impractical until you can mirror. Fishing for clues. Larry

It was worth the wait and is certainly a worthy replacement for the fine Cooper line. A Solice panel is on the sales floor now. Let us know if you want a demo here or on your set. John Coffey
