I recently corrupted a drive and in the long search for an easy way to play/save the recovered headerless wav files, I found this programme for a mac. http://tmkk.pv.land.to/xld/index_e.html Just import as a raw file, set the destination folder and away you go! Way easier and quicker then other methods I found... Regards, Grant.

Hi all, I need to wire a PTT comms type mic to a TA5F so it will work with a UM200C Tx, I have done this before so know it works but the mic broke and the connector has gone awol and of course I never wrote down the wiring configuration! The mic is from a standard onset RT and has 3 wires, red, green and copper. Has anyone else has done this (and written down the wiring info!) last time I did it I'm pretty sure I didn't use any resistors but it maybe had 1 capacitor in the mix somewhere but maybe not... Thanks! Chris.

Hi, I have a Coles 4104 that sounds good, but the noise of the preamp is very noticeable when I turn it up to the level needed. Ive tried 3 different preamps with similar results. Its the same noise of a preamp that is heard when turning up the gain without a mic loading it. When I connect the microphone, the noise is the exact same, but combined with the microphones signal. Searching online I don't see any mention of this issue. Could anyone who has used this microphone describe their experience? I've used other, much cheaper, ribbon microphones and never noticed this level of noise. Thanks, Rodrigo

I have several AKG blue line mic capsules and power modules and I'm running into an issue with my ck93 hypercardioid capsule. It loosened up, and when I screw it back together (see the 3 pieces in the pictures below) the signal becomes either very weak and hissy, or highly distorted noise. Wiring/soldering are not my forte, but I am led to believe that the three pieces are misaligned with one another. Does anyone know if this could be the case, and if so, what is the proper way to align/fix everything? Or could it be something else? I had the same problem with another 93 capsule and I somehow miraculously managed to get it to work again. I'm not having the same luck …

Hello All, Need some assistance if you can. I've got the SD633 and I'm trying to record Wav Poly on CF and MP3 on the SD card. I've updated to V4.61. The mixer is not allowing me to record MP3's. I've tried new cards of various sizes and I'm not recording in F mode. I've formatted the cards and I'm at 48K also. Is anyone else experiencing this? Any solutions would be helpful. Thanks, Russ

I have to make some AES cables - and have heard two different recommendations from trusted sources. The first says that one should always use 110 ohm rated cable for AES cables. The other says that it doesn't matter what you use if the length is short (in his words - less than 100 feet). In my case, I need to wire the AES in and out of a Fusion to an external box, that probably wouldn't be longer that 7 feet. I have some 110 ohm cable that is rather small in diameter - but not small enough to fit 4 of them inside the opening of a 9-pin d-sub. I do though - have some analog cable that would fit just fine. So would I be ok with the analog cable or am I asking fo…

I have recently been experiencing odd noises coming from my G3 receivers. The noises sound digital in nature, its not static or RF interference. I noticed that the noise is only apparent when the backlight on the screen of the receiver turns off. When you press a button to wake the screen back up again the noise goes away. The noise is also synchronous with the the little LCD display, in other words, when something moves on the display (like the audio level indicator) when the backlight is off, you hear the little digital artifacts. It is very odd, and very annoying. I recorded a sample of the noise. The first part is the noise by itself, with the lav on th…

Hi, so, lavs (and microdot adaptors) with a 3.5mm locking connector are usually specified for Sony (UWP-, UTX series) or Sennheiser G2, G3, G4. The latter being widely used by other manufacturers, e.g. Deity, Tentacle and lots more When I look for line in cables, they are sometimes advertised as compatible for both worlds. What are the differences in these inputs? I have a show coming up, where I'd like to feed some UTX-B3 with either my Sennheiser terminated lavs or the HP output of my Track Es (non US).
