I met a producer at a wrap party last night who is looking for a sound person for a Nickelodeon show in NYC. It's well beyond my gear/experience set, but I told him I could put him in touch with a couple of sound people who could probably do it. All I really know about it is he mentioned they normally work 5/6 lavs, boom and 6 ISO tracks. I don't know anything about their sound budget, maybe it's good, maybe not, but I figured there would be at least a few people here interested. Send me a PM or email with your contact info and I'll email him. Thanks, Jesse jessef at pedanticsound dot net

a tennis documentary film i have done a few days on is headed to the states for a few days, and i said i'd see if i couldn't help production out with a few names. dates are, NYC 22nd, 25th and 26th August and Minneapolis 23rd August. i do not know where in those cities they intend to film unfortunately. the days i did were sat down interviews against black background, recording direct to C300. though i cannot say for sure that this will be the case again - i don't know if they intend to get anything other than interviews. but if anyone is available, please send me a CV, equipment list and typical rate and i will pass it on to production. thanks ric…

*******THE GIG IS FINISHED******* I did a low budget gig for a group called The Porchlight Sessions last fall in L.A. and they are doing another shoot in the Bay area early next week I believe. Low budget but it was a very short and fun gig. I was there a total of 4 hours. Recording a 4 piece bluegrass group with a few cameras, typically DSLR. Contact Anna at anna@porchlightsessions.com When I did the gig I definitely went overboard on what I provided but, like I said, it was a lot of fun and the people are great. PM me if you would like more info in what I did for the gig. I don't know the rate or shooting detail but Anna can provide those for you. …

This is a show produced and delivered by my son's company Beaudry Film Works Inc. for ESPNU. I'm the audio supervisor for the show and am charged with finding good sound people to work the shoots when I can't. Road Trip goes to major college football games and is a fun look at the campus, the students, and what goes on before and during the big game. Some of you have worked the show before and I hope you enjoyed it. The first three locations are scheduled so I thought I'd get a jump on the crewing now. These are three days of shooting, Thursday through Saturday. August 30, 31, Sept. 1. This is Michigan vs Alabama at Cowboy Stadium in Dallas Texas. Sept. …

Hey Guys! I've recently moved to Houston,TX and am looking to start in the business officially. I worked as a sales rep at one of "the usual suspects" and really loved it. I came from the studio side but really want to start doing location sound. If anyone needs someone for anything, please let me know, even if it's just to get coffee. I really just want to get my feet wet.I haven't boomed anything outside of testing gear in the store, but I'm decent at lav placement. On a serious note, I've helped some of the members on this site with their audio needs and I must say it's an honor to be in such good company. Thanks. K.C.

If you're available tomorrow and have 4 lavs, mixer/recorder, and can feed a red camera then call this producer tonight. 818-633-2146 The pay is low so this is for all those newbies out there. If you don't have a way to feed audio to the Red then it's probably no big deal considering the budget and last minute notice.

Hey all. I'm sorry if this question doesn't quite belong in this section of the website. I'm wondering, where do you guys look for work? I know the usual suspects like Mandy, CL, etc. but where do you guys find your gigs? Most of my work lands in my lap from referrals or old postings and previous clients but I want to expand my network and I could use a lead or two. Thanks in advance! -TAS

"Shooting a micro-budget horror feature in a couple of months and looking to find a sound mixer with some gear. If you respond to this post without placing DAMN RIGHT in the subject line, I'll know you didn't even bother to read everything. Sorry to sound assholish but people respond without reading and then complain about what's being asked of them. Looking for a sound mixer/boom op with some gear that is compatible with the 5D and 7D by Canon as that's what we're shooting on. If you have lavs, better - that way we don't need the boom. This is a 10-day shoot on location. Lodging is provided. Meals provided. Gas reimbursement if you decide to drive. And the pay is $500 fo…

Hello All, My name is David "lion" Thompson. I have been working as a boom op for 5 years now in the Minneapolis/St. Paul area. I've worked with several mixers in that time even one I see who posts on this forum regularily, Mathew Freed. There has never really been much work for someone who is strictly a boom op in the minnapolis area and this year has been extra bad for me. So I'm trying to reach out and meet some new mixers who may be in need of a new or fill in boom op. I'm willing and able to travel. I'm a hard worker a good listener and love to learn so any advice or opportunities would be greatly appreciated. I've attached my resume. If anyone has questions o…
