Hey guys, I'm looking for work in the NYC area and could use a few pointers. Not sure if this is the right forum to post this in but I could use all the advice/help that is out there. I'm a location sound mixer/recordist as well as a pro tools certified operator and willing to work in either production or post or both. If anyone knows of studios hiring or if any of you guys are looking for a sound guy please let me know. Much appreciated! Thanks in advance Chris ps. please PM me. thanks!

Hello audio NYC'ers. I'm curious to know if any of you know of any post houses looking for editors, re-recording mixers, sound designers, pro tools engineers and even if there are any production houses looking for in-house sound crew. I do both production and post and would love to find a job with an ad agency, post house, or something of that sort. (video game companies as well!) I'm looking to take a trip up to nyc in search of work and would like to be prepared with the types of places I'm going to hand in resumes. If anyone has any leads please let me know. Thanks! -Chris

I've been a bag mixer in MN for four years, but have mainly been working solo. I'll be visiting LA from April 9-14 and am looking to make the trip educational. I'm sure 90% of the work going on there is union, but I'd love to volunteer utility/boom for someone for a day or two while I'm out there so I can learn a thing or two. Any takers? I'm also planning on paying a visit to Trew and Coffey. Does anyone have suggestions for other places to check out?

Looking for experienced boom operator for 6-7 week show in Cincinnati. starts late Feb, early March. Chicago or Detroit ops would be ideal, so we could meet before. But ops from other areas certainly considered. My regular boom op is not available. Great script, good project. Shot on film. You can send a resume to gmax at earthlink dot net. Looking forward to hearing from you. Cheers Geoff Maxwell maxwellsound dot com

A producer with whom I've worked is prepping for a Discovery Channel show, asked me if I knew of anyone in the Des Moines area. I told her I'd ask around. Sorry I don't have any more specifics, but I've always enjoyed working with her, pay has always been pretty good... anyone interested? If so, PM me & I can forward your info to her. Thanks, ~tt

Im currently in San Francisco for a production. I will be leaving on the 21st but the production needs a sound guy ( 2 wireless plus boom, wireless to camera ) for the 23rd. It's a simple shoot but it as a cool sound side to hit. It will be in the transamerica building, in an area that has a specific resonance sound that they want to have during the action. Need to be comfortable with height ( no your not climbing the window cleaner ladder ). 400$+200$ for gear. Any interest?

Hi guys, I'm an aspiring sound recordist based in Melbourne, Australia, with about 50 credits to my name. I think I've reached a level where I need some mentorship to get me to that next level of professionalism. If there is anyone in the area willing to let me schlep off their experience, I would be most grateful. Fun times guaranteed in exchange. My background was as a musician and then did a short course at the Victorian College of the Arts, if anyone wants to know. Cheers Chum
