Hello everyone, I was looking for anyone that needed a helping hand on any jobs, I'll help out with anything just to get experience and a little extra cash (student) I desperately need some cash to pay bills and such and working at Mcdonald's is not gonna cut it. But seeing as Im not in the union I can't work on any of those, unless someone knows a thing or two about it I would love the help. And also I was reading in the Coffey Files the other day and I read that you can accumulate hours for the union by working at a sound rental house. Is this true? and if so how many hours? Or what would some of you suggest, I want to get into it asap, if that means workin…

To all those available in San Francisco, I'm posting an email I received from one of my students from the Maine Media Workshops: Greetings from your Maine workshop alumna! Hope you're well. I'm writing to help a friend who is coordinating a five-day shoot in the San Francisco area around December 9th-13th. They're looking for a soundperson with strong Broadcast/Film credits behind them. I don't know if the show wants a mixer, a boom operator, a supervisor, or an all around jack of all trades. I'm assuming what's required is someone to wear a pack on the shoulder and go into tight spaces. A bit about the project: it is being produced by Channel News Asia and will…

Doing some research for a reality/docu shoot in northern Argentina in December, most likely involving 5 soundmen with basic packages (mixer, boom, 2 lavs, 2 ch wireless camera hop). It would be great to have at least 10 Lectro SM/411 systems on the same block. I'll be doing my own searches obviously, and hope to bring some soundmen and equipment with me from Canada, but if anyone has a good lead on professional rental houses and local sound mixers, I'd love to hear them. English speaking is a must, and preferably with experience on other reality shows like Amazing Race. I've heard Buenos Aires has a healthy scene so I'm looking forward to hooking up with some g…

Hello everyone, I am a production audio mixer who has been working out of Lexington, KY (and the KY/TN/OH area) for the past 6 years and will be spending some time in Los Angeles from now until the beginning of October. While I am here, I wanted to see if anyone is working on or has any upcoming projects that I could help out on. I would love to help out as a utility or extra boom op or even just hang out to meet people and for the experience (I have some of my gear with me and could use that if wanted as well). Please call or email me anytime if you know of anything or have any information and I would appreciate it greatly. Thank you very much, Scot…

Howdy fellas n gals, I am wrapped boom oping for a feature film based in FL in a week and and plan on driving across the country to LA in hopes of some more gigs. I have a ton of hours mixing/booming multiple projects both ENG/narrative and can utility... I wrap a mean cable. I'm young and love to travel, willing to relocate long distances for a long enough period of time. Just figured I'd throw it out there! Regards, Rich Vanderscoff
