G'day Gents, Sending out an A.P.B. for work here. ABOUT ME: Very easy to work with, flexible, and knowledgeable boom op/mixer/utility (whatever you need me to be). I have experience doing them all. I study/know a little Mandarin (if that means anything to anyone {hey, I'm proud of it}). I can wire talent/a room, run a multi-track recorder or just push a sound cart around a location. I take pride in my work and enjoy doing it.... AND you'll enjoy not doing it because, you have a lacky to do it for you. Lucky you. I'm here to work. Check out my site. www.czharcusmjones.com Thanks,

Although I have learned to enjoy my time off over the years, I can't settle the workaholic gene passed onto me by both parents. I just reconfigured my trailer shelving to accommodate some extra Pelican cases, I'm buying a new PSC Powermax, re-wiring my cart, and rebuilding the rack rails on my follow cart to handle a little more abuse. But a little PAID work would be nice. Or even a FUN and PROFESSIONAL favor during the week would be okay too! You know, a round of golf with a fellow equipment geek would be fun too. Anyone? Please feel free to contact me with any questions, or if you'd like a copy of my CV (alternatively, I have a credit list on IMDB). Thanks Jamie Gambell

Right ho then, not normally prone to this kind of announcement but thought I'd throw it out there just the same. Just finished shooting a film here in leeds and now I either go back to the live work as the corporate season ramps up, OR (and) look for some work as a third man/utility with some of you 'big guys,' (I know I know, but you know what I mean). It's the next step on my inevitable journey into fillum sound. So, any brits listening, who need a no.3, or possibly a no.2 (actually that sounds.... no never mind), or anyone who fancies flying me somewhere else for a while, preferably sunny, please feel free to get in touch. All the best Darren www.dar…

Hi Guys, If you or someone you know is heading to Michigan I am there to help! Just wrapping my 3rd $500K feature as a mixer with numerous short/festival experiences, I would really like to work utility/boom/coffee runner* with some long timers. "Ye Olde Times" is one of many shooting soon and think it will offer some interesting long/wide exteriors... but any/all work on bigger budget projects is wanted. I know there are many discussions about MI not being staffed so I'm sure any number of you could be approached about work out here soon. Help me help you while helping me and MI sound as great as it looks! *I roast my own coffee and people I work with are trea…

Hello all, Mild mannered, cell phone law abiding citizen by day, energetic, aggressive, unyielding ninja sound capturer by night here. I will steal and entrap the breath of my prey within my hyper(or super)Cardioid shaped net so that it may be vibrantly reborn in the audio suite. I move in stealth (as I have no shadow) and terminate at the chest. And I can bring my own boom too;-). No syllable is safe from Zharkai. Over the top? I do have experience. I mixed/boomed for a feature ("Tricks") that showed at this past Hollywood Film Fest. It was not an ideal situation but, I'm a problem solver (there's always a way). More recently, I ran the audio for a Nike 10K Huma…

I have a client (corporate video producer) who is organizing a one day shoot in Blue Bell, PA for the first week of August, probably the 6th, 7th or 8th. He will be in need of an experienced sound person with gear and an experienced camera person with camera and lighting kit. Looks to be a pretty standard corporate gig - sit down interviews, possibly a few standup exterior interviews and B-roll. They may shoot BetacamSP or HD, it hasn't been decided yet. A longstanding solid corproate client, they always pay the bills (and on time, too) and he loves the sound of a boom. If you are in the Philly area and are interested email me your contact info and a…

I'm a recent USC grad looking to find work/experience as a boom op or utility person. Robert Sharman recently brought me on to a short to do some booming and it was a great experience where he was able to teach me a lot of skills and subtleties. If there are any other mixers out there who are in need of a boom op, utility person, or would be willing to let me shadow on set just to watch and learn, I'd love to come on and help in any way I can. Anyone out there want to do a PSA for a good cause? I had to turn it down due to a double booking. Los Angeles Youth Network (www.layn.org) PSA to benefit homeless teens. They are shooting on Saturday July 12th. Contact Skye (Producer) 310-462-5877 or Cherokeeonly@aol.com. They are offering $100 mixer/$100 boom. Hopefully that will cover gas and part of your equipment, but it's a tax write off for sure. Thanks everyone. -Richard

My boom man Kenny Mantlo is moving up and going to mix a series in July. He leaves a big set of shoes to fill and so I though I'd throw the opportunity out there as well as making the usual calls to guys with whom I'm familiar. If anyone can refer a good boom person, or if anyone is a good boom person and thinks they have the necessarys to do a high profile series for nine months of the year starting in august, please send a resume to mfproductions@bigplanet.com. I promise I'll consider all submissions but not necessarily reply to them all, assuming anyone contacts me of course. Thanks Mick

Thought that you guys would get a chuckle from this one.. Looking though MANDY today, and I found this JOB. So, I thought.. sounds good, I'll reply... This is what I got.. --- start reply --- You would get a flat rate of $1,050 for the Production Sound Recordist plus $20 a weeks (4 weeks) for gas and $50 to go with your monthly cell phone bill. To do all of the post sound you would get a flat rate of $2,500 plus 3% in profit participation. If that is okay with you and if you are interested would you like to read the screenplay? All the best, --- end --- --- Here's my reply --- Greetings, Hollywood uses a "DAILY" production rate in or…
