Hello all, A British company I have worked with for years who film theatre shows and musicals for online promotion need a NYC local Recordist on Sunday the 22nd and Tuesday 24th November on Broadway. The Sunday will be about three hours 'work' as it will be just taking a feed from the desk to get the LR music feed from a live show. The Tuesday will be four scenes from the show, theatre crew doing the micing and FOH desk work. No orchestra that day so playback of the Sunday recording and recording the desk feed of performance dialogue and singing whilst it's filmed, probably a couple of runs on each scene. Supply a nice stereo mix of the two together for immedi…

Does anyone out there know a good mixer based in Scotland? A doc. project I'm currently helping to edit will have some shooting there later this year, in the summer and early fall, and I'd like to be able to connect the filmmaker with a good audio person. This will involve some verité situations, some b-roll stuff, some musical moments and possibly some interview set-ups...in other words, the type of stuff we always do. Affability, good gear and a solid resumé are required. If you know of someone, please let me know. Dates and rates TBD, but it's not a freebie. Thanks, Dan Gleich 415-517-2880 lessmos@gmail.com

Well, I will be the first to try this out. I am looking for work. I do not have anything lined up until November, possibly even later, and I would like to know about movies that might be coming up before that time. As most of you know, I do primarily feature films and have not, as yet, gotten into the TV arena. Regards, Jeff Wexler

I'm moving out from Minneapolis to Los Angeles mid-April. I'm making this move to get more and different types of work. I usually mix out of the bag on doc, reality, commercial and narrative jobs equally. I'm also interested in getting involved in the union for the sake of picking up more work. Do any of you LA locals have suggestions for me, starting over? Of course I have some LA connections in the industry, but I'd also like to find work as boom operator and utility. I've been doing this for five years, but I'd be really happy to learn from others as well. Thanks in advance!

Hey all, I just got back to town after working in Toronto for a month, and I'm looking to make new contacts and hopefully get some more work. I'm primarily a boom op, and have my own ktek pole and rycote blimp. I'm an excellent team player, good communicator, good at anticipating needs, and a hard worker. I've attached my resume, and look forward to hearing from you guys. Warm regards, Jeff Alex Thomas CopyofResume-Standard (2).pdf

I may need to put together a crew for a 2 day re-shoot on a movie I did last year. My usual people are all busy on the days. It is not firm yet but will be either September 10th and 11th, or 11th and 12th. it has not been locked down yet. Both days in Los Angeles somewhere. Please PM me if you are interested and might be available those days.

Would love to find a project starting after March 30th. I have not done much networking over the years as I have stayed pretty busy. So, i hear " I always think you are busy" from a lot of people. I'm taking this opportunity to maybe meet some new people or re connect with some old friends. This is my IMDB --http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0183304/reference for reference. I live and work in LA but of course have worked through out the US and many other countries and am free and love to travel. Looking forward to any responses.

Hi JW soundies, I need some help with a job on 28th. Short day, setup at 7am , event 11-12:30, and wrap out. I will multitrack and send sound to 2-3 cameras and also to a PA in a car showroom and then another out on a golf course. I have one PA and will rent another from you. Only 60-80 people, so just a small PA is needed. Some feedback control experience would be great as there will be lavs through the PA in addition to stick mics for audience questions outside. I can pay $400/8 hours plus gear rental depending what you have. Thanks, Paul

Hi Everyone, Wondering if someone can recommend a soundman in Delhi, India? Project is a simple one or two day shoot in Delhi for a documentary on Tuberculosis. Dates: February 23rd & 25th. Talking head interviews with doctors and some B-Roll shooting at medical clinics (all appropriate safety precautions will of course be followed/supplied/taken for all filming of TB patients). The soundman will be working with the producer and cameraman (3-person team). The doc is being shot with two 5Ds (all sound must be captured to soundman's recorder). Unfortunately the Delhi dates were slightly pushed and I'm unavailable to finish the job (I'm their …

Wondering if anyone can chime in on what the job market looks like for post sound. I've been doing live and production sound in various forms for the past decade (in my late 20s now) and have always shrugged off the idea of getting into the post realm. Is it an avenue worth pursuing currently? Are there practical, hands-on programs or schools in the LA area I can look at? Do any of you combo production / post guys find that having the ability to do post helps book more and better production jobs? Thanks in advance!

I'll be doing a few days for a Spanish-language TV production at the beginning of March, and they've asked me to find a sound mixer in San Francisco, preferably Spanish-speaking. It'll be one-man-band, verite style. They've asked me to provide boom and two wireless mics. From prior experience, the hours are not crazy and they're pretty respectful of our craft. I'm charging a fair rate. Not sure of the date, but am assuming it'll be after the March 6th. If you match this description, or know a reliable and skilled soundie who does, please contact me via e-mail: blaskisic (at) mac, dot, com or call/text me at 818-six four zero-six two six eight Thanks! BK
