Does anyone know where I can source the switchcraft Sennheiser G3 style connectors? Part # 35HDLNAU Ive looked around at the typical carriers for parts and no one has any in stock. I would like to buy a bundle of them, so I'd need more than just a couple. Thanks!

here's the link to video.. Greetings, I've uploaded a video to Youtube demonstrating how I connect my 788t directly to my iPad to facilitate downloading the Sound Report.csv for further manipulation. I take no responsibility for you jail breaking your iPad.. I have an extensive IT and computer background and jail breaking my device is not a big deal to me.. I no longer felt like dragging my laptop out just to generate a PDF report. I already had a jailbroken iPad and started looking into connecting it to the 788t. It worked perfectly the first time and with the help of a 4 dollar app called iFile, I can now directly mount the 788t drive from the iPad. The Hol…

So today I had a shoot with 3 Red Epics and I took my lemo 5 TC cable and BNC-lemo 5. But then there was the horror: TC on the Epic body without breakout, seems to be lemo 4 . Aside from Red pissing me off all day, I don't want this to happen again. So I'm trying to find out to make a cable like Devendra did in this thread: But I can't seem to find the schematics for some connectors. I found this: http://www.sounddevices.com/notes/recorders/xl-lb2-wiring/ and http://www.sounddevices.com/notes/recorders/time-code/xl-lx-wiring/ but I can't seem to find the schematics for lemo 4, XLR and different jack-connectors. Any ideas? Did I forgot a common connector?

The belt clips on the trx900la tend to slip off, especially on thick belts. So I'm experimenting with making my own. Here is v1. I've always like the spring clips on smqvs, and thought they work quite well. The main drawback to this clip is you have to remove it to change batteries. To me, that's pretty easy. If it works out in the field, I'll make a few more for all my radios. K

Does anyone know the size of the screws used in the old 'flat' right angle Neutrik female XLR connectors? I'm trying to get my hands on replacements.

I imagine this topic has come up before, but I have not been able to find any information on it. I'm considering swapping one of my lectro bodypack tx units for a HM tx. That way with the dual receiver, I can have one lav and one boom feeding straight to camera for a bare-bones in-camera mix. I know, not ideal. But here's the question: Can the HM also sport a lav mic? It will feed 5v phantom, will receive mic level from an analog xlr... I know the box is large and heavy for body-mounting, but this trick might give me more flexibility as both a boom tx and optional second lav. Thanks for any insights.

I finally figured an effective way to strip the tiny wires that Sanken uses on their COS-11 and CUB-1. Fire. A lit match will burn everything but the copper. With a bit of care, the fire will quickly burn about 1/2 " of wire, revealing nice, shiny copper. It only takes a split second, so be careful!

Will a 3.5mm TRS to 3.5mm TRS work to feed guide track audio to a 5D from a Comtek PR-216? (The same cable you may use to feed your car stereo music from your iPod?) If not, would someone be so kind as to enlighten me to the proper cable needed? I should also mention that making my own cables is something I'm new at, but I would like to give a try.

Here's a technique I invented years ago for hanging a sound blanket. You need one C-stand with an arm plus 1 more arm and head. This set-up lets you stretch the blanket out tight and you don't have to deal with the No2 grip clips loosening up or popping off.

Hey guys, When we ordered the sanken cos 11 for Lectrosonics, something went wrong, and they came with XLR connectors. So we had to wire them ourselves to the TA5F connector. On sanken.com there are two diagrams, one includes a 1K resistor in the circuit (normal version), and the other does not (red mark version) . We used the method without the 1K resistor (red mark version). The process was very delicate but it worked just fine. The problem is that i'm feeling that there's too much gain, even when the gain level on the transmitter is just somewhere between the first and the second dash. The normal speaking level is good but it gets risky on sudden shouts (not s…

I use mine to primarily record rehearsals and other moments of musical spur of the moment genius. It was knock off the bass amp last night and one of the mics snapped off. Any advice on upgrading these capsules or is this much more complicated than I think it is?

Whenever my Loon pole gets wet, I take it apart and dry it. But I've never paid much attention to the wing until it crapped out on me last week. Turns out the MXLR was quite corroded. Now that I think about it, it does make sense; pointed up as it is, it's much more susceptible to the elements than other poles. Other than having to Dremel off one of the two protruding guides along the circumference to match the original XLR, it's an easy repair. An ounce of prevention...

Is there a resource that shows diagrams/etc. for wiring up various cables we use on a daily basis? I tried Googling a few times but couldn't find any pics. I have some starquad cable and a few connectors to make a TA5 to female XLR cable and sure would like some sort of visual reference if possible. Any info is appreciated.

does anyone know where to buy the threaded 1/8" mono connector that are used for the lectro MM's? trying to make an adaptor to go from Ta5 to the threaded cable for an MM200 that will work with a standard mc30/40 for hops as well as standard lectro ta5 lav connector. The adaptors I have now don't work with any mc30/40/41s I've tried.

I am setting up an audio bag for the SD664 which I recently received and am pondering what cable to use for the Lectro to mixer input connections, right angle XLR to straight XLR. I want to keep the bag as light and uncluttered as possible. I have some Canare L-2E5 on hand and though that it might be the ticket however I also have some Mogami 2697 which would be very lightweight. I think the 2697 might be good for this usage--short cables that never leave the bag. Does anyone have an opinion on these cables or a better recommendation? Thanks, Bob

I'm looking to get a decent soldering iron that will last me quite some time. With so many choices on the net it is hard to determine which is a good brand and which is a knock-off. I'd like to stay under $100 so if you know of one that is rock solid for around this price then please advise. Thanks
