  1. widgets, eh? like one for sleep one for unsleep sort of thing? or a widget you click on and then choose action?
  2. I posted a really simple and free android app for those sound guys that just need sleep/wake for their transmitters during meal breaks. its in the general area.
  3. hey folks. just spent a couple hours making an ANDROID app to play the sleep and unsleep sounds for lectrosonics transmitters because i just needed that ability and didnt want to pay $20 for the LectroRM android app. my app isnt available on the google play store because i havent figured that out, and it doesnt have a nice icon because i havent figured that out either. anyone that wants it is welcome to download it (if it will link here) or hit me up for a signed APK. i just used the sounds freely available on lectrosonics site. keep up the good work out there. thanks. (newer one is next post)
  4. SOLD. sorry. can't figure out how to delete this post. hey there folks. like new audio bag for sale. sold my 788 with CL-8 and the buyer didnt want/need the bag. its worked outside about 4 times. they sell new for $305 on B&H, i'd like to sell this one for $200 including shipping in the US. pics are on ebay here http://www.ebay.com/itm/201228084199?ssPageName=STRK:MESELX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1555.l2649 let me know if you want it. thanks! d.
  5. Matt Martin: did you get it figured out? i soldered one the first way (looking INTO the jack on the camera) and it didnt work today. so i switched it and ill see if it takes tomorrow. those two images are contradictory but ill just keep soldering til the little TC symbol lights up.
  6. i had no idea about thos AudioRoot boxes, Lucas. nice. i had a hard time finding prices and since i have a box of hirose connectors and im wired that way already i think ill just put one together. we shall see. i remember when i first got my bag i scoffed at NP-1s and all the technology and bought lead acid batteries from the local motorcycle shop. pfaaaaw i said. i can make this cheaper.... only after a few months of that weight did i concede that buying an existing technology was a good idea. Question though... i was working with a NYC DP the other day and he looked at my bag and said ,"oh? still using NP1s?... old school" and i wondered what he meant. we arent supposed to be buying Dionics to make the cameras guys job easier are we? whats the NEW tech?
  7. this is a good solution. who knew that a pre-made PCB was available. genius! i ordered one. the AudioRoot stuff mentioned in the other post about BDS boxes was nice but i couldnt easily find a price and why not just make the thing. nice job nathaniel.
  8. i built my own battery bud but it was just a ripoff because im cheap. way superior to threaded DC plugs as far as im concerned. the only thing that i have seen on the other battery distros that i like is a USB power port. i would use if for a cheap USB light for those dark mixing days. i have a USB port on order and im going to implement it into my knockoff. +1 vote here.
  9. i posted about my unit locking up. it seemed really bad and i was starting to lose heart. after springing for the suggested media, after looking over all my connections carefully, after consulting a witchdoctor and dousing my entire 633 in chicken blood, i remember that i had chosen a shorter USB cable to connect the wireless keyboard when i got my unit. so i dug out the original SD USB cable, sprinkling it with what blessed (cursed?) chicken blood i had left, and have been using that almost every day for two weeks with no problems. yes! so, using the suggested wireless keyboard (RK01?) with their supplied cable and their recommended media, no lockups. not sure if that helps anyone else, but if you need the number of my Shamanic Chicken Blood supplier let me know.
  10. well i bought approved cards and my 633 is locking up once a day anyway. always when im not rolling, so far. i pulled the usb keyboard yesterday after a lockup and so far today, 6 hours in, no lockup. i have another 6 hours to go so no reason to have a party yet. B&H asked me to review the 633 so maybe ill wait until AFTER a few more days of work with no lockups. then ill have to wonder why SD added support for the Rii keyboard in the first place if it COULD be the problem. anyone else using the Rii keyboard with NO problems? did i get a lemon?
  11. i have only had the 633 for a couple days but each day it has locked up. i have switched media (although none of it is on the approved list although it has worked with my 644 for a while, i just bought some coming in this week) and each time it locks up, it is NOT recording. thats a blessing i guess. it froze with signal lights lit and timecode froze and i didnt know about the "press home button for 10 seconds to power down" trick so i had to wait for the capacitors or whatever they use to discharge while the producer was wondering whether to fire me. spooky. i am going to get the approved media in and unplug my Rii keyboard and see if problems continue. if so, ill be calling SD. i already had to reflash the 1.02 firmware because after the first lockup the rotary knob would not move through the menu and the system showed NO files on the media although the files were there. weirdness.
  12. well I got my 633 three days ago and after rolling all day yesterday on a delkin 64gb cf and a transcend 64gb SD it locked up the start of day 2. maybe the cards, I know. weird thing was that even after restarting the rotary knob would not work in the menu and only the wireless RIi keyboard. I finally had to reflash firmware 1.02 and now it seems to be working. I'll buy approved media and hope that fixes it.
