  1. Osa, I just have a pile of the np50 wal wart style chargers. Probably not the answer your looking for though. What about the guy on here that I think made his own? Thanks, Martin
  2. I have no idea what this has to do with the Nomad slate function. Re-pasting what Glenn said about the Nomad time code display has what to do with the Nomad slate function?
  3. Ah, I see. When would you normally use that information? I use all Zaxcom, so I personally can't think of when that would be useful, but, I am all Zaxcom, so that is not something I believe I could benefit from. Thanks.
  4. Constantin, Sorry, I don't have a 633 to try. What is the Sound Devices 633 doing that the Zaxcom Nomad is not doing? Thanks, Martin
  5. Ok, great. Now we have clarified what you want to know about that is in the manual. As some on this site could verify, I don't have any problem getting on the phone to help someone get thru understanding how something works, everyone needs that at some point. But I don't think that is what your looking for here. I'm not sure what your doing. I will cut and paste the paragraph in the manual that deals with using the slate inside the Zaxcom Nomad. The answer of how I use it is in the paragraph attached.
  6. Which display are you referring to?
  7. My method is the one in the manual. I'm not sure where your going with this. It's pretty simple, reading the manual is easy to follow. I don't know why you would want me, or anyone, to simply repeat what is in the manual. I can paste a link to the manual and reference the pages, if you need it.
  8. Per the manual. I guess I should cut and paste the manual?
  9. Hello, The 2 different displays shown in the picture could vary for a couple of reasons. The one reason is that the display only indicates one frame. In other words, if the difference between those 2, which is one feeding the other, could only be 1/1000 of a frame, but we can't see that because the display does not read to the 1000th, so if one is at 20:46:26:21.999 and the other is at 20:46:26:22.0 , then the difference would only be 1/1000 of a frame difference, also known as .000041 seconds. We are all not looking at the Nomad display, we are looking at a picture of the display, so now you add another element to the "problem", LCD refresh rates. What shutter speed did he use to take the picture? If you took enough pictures, you would see the frames number blurred, but that doesn't mean the time code frame is blurred, it's just a display. The easiest test for this, I believe, is to just simply test this with the slate function in the Nomad. You could also test this, with the proper camera shutter speed, by using 2 Denecke slates and look at the picture that results. I say Denecke, because I have no idea what any other manufacturer has for display indications. But I do know this test will work on a Denecke. Now, if Glenn could just build us a timecode display that read to the 1/1000 of a frame. But, that would likely create more problems, because a user could look at the 2 displays and say "Hey, my time code is off by 6/1000ths of a frame." Thank you, Martin
  10. Few, Thank you. So he does like these new HP's? Ok. It didn't sound that way, maybe his comment was about some other HP product comment. Thank you, Martin
  11. Jim, Why do you want 2 cables, one to each ear? Thank you, Martin
  12. Hi Jak, I think the best way to do this test, is to use the slate that is inside the Nomad. That display would be accurate if you used it properly. If you are not familiar with it, then you could read the Nomad manual at dinner. Thank you, Martin
  13. Hi all, ok, Here is a picture I took of 5 of my DPA 4063's. When I was cleaning them this morning I noticed that the beige one felt incredibly different, it feels as though it's thicker, it's much stiffer, and as you can see, more "curly" than the rest. I have them hanging up with about an inch of the wire and capsule above the hanging point. I also attached a AA cell to the microdot that is hanging down. I do this to "uncoil" them. Comments? Thank you, Martin
  14. Jan, ok, I'm waiting for others to input a response so I don't alter my blind test here. Thanks for your input. Sincerely, Martin
  15. Hi all. Is there a particular color of the mic cable that is giving you problems? I understand most people will likely have black mics, but I'm curious here. Thanks, Martin
  16. Hi, when switching from one zaxnet ifb transmitter to another, it has, in the past cut out for however many Ms. The person listening on the IFB is moving around? Sincerely, Martin
  17. Yes, to Denecke because I like the the TS3EL, the TSC and Charlie. Thanks, Martin
  18. Jesse, If you figure out how to do that, let me know. Thank you, Martin
  19. Glenn, Thanks. Is there some way to access (and play) the transmitter recorded file remotely? I.e. without taking the transmitter off of the talent? And don't get me wrong, I am loving this, not only can you rerecord if you have a RF hit, which is pretty rare with Zaxcom, but, you can remix the track recorded to the mixer. I.e., if you had an unexpected level of scream, and you hit the limiters hard in the mixer/recorder, you could rerecord the transmitter file, and since you are rerecording something that has already happened, you know where the scream is at and how many DB to reduce it in order to not hit the limiters. Thank you, Martin
  20. Mike, Yes, but so far, I don't know how to do that. As of now, it is not time code stamping the same TC. It is just giving post the offset via sound report. So, if you rolled on a take at 0900, then, 30 minutes later, at 0930, you rerecorded it, it would have a note in the sound report, that reads -30:00. Does that make sense? Thank you, Martin
  21. Mike, Yes, but, I'm not sure how I would find just the section that I want to re-record. Lots of questions on this. In other words if the transmitter had been on for 20 minutes and I just need a one minute take, and it's at the end of that 20 minutes, how do I just get, or fast forward, to that one minute? But once I get all that figured out, it will be very impressive. Thank you, Martin
  22. It works, it works. It took me a little while to figure it out (I have never operated a Deva). But it works. It's right up there with phasers, actually it's more like a transporter room because now, you can beam up audio.
  23. Supercmits don't have built in radio transmitters.
