This is just for fun! I do not condone rude or aggressive behavior on set! https://www.redbubble.com/i/t-shirt/Sound-Speeds-STFU-by-dgirtsman/74031572.WFLAH

I definitely wouldn't add external power for booming. I actually like the sound of the preamp for a front end in my studio and would like to get away from batteries for this use.
-
I've done a search on the boards but haven't turned up anything. Does anyone have a recommendation for an external power supply? Thanks!

I apologize if this has already been covered. I did a search and didn't come up with anything. I'm looking for bag recommendations for the mixpre-10, some wireless, bds, you know, a pretty standard setup. Is anyone using something that they really like? Thanks!

I'm wondering if anyone happened to be at NAB and heard the Deity W Lav? I'm very interested to see how the W Lav Micro holds up against a cos-11.

You asked for silly... I've just released the first few episodes of my new podcast on iTunes. It's very silly, a bit like Dr. Demento on mild hallucinogens. https://itunes.apple.com/us/podcast/random/id1450102098 Enjoy!

I've had pretty good luck with the Ursa mini mounts. Has anyone tried the Bubblebee lav concealer or the Hide-A-Mic B Flex yet? I'm interested in hearing some reviews on those.

Does anyone know if there's an option in Premiere to view poly file metadata, most importantly, track names? I I spent half of yesterday doing a bunch of scouring on the interwebs trying to help out an editor that isn't familiar with poly files (because I'm a nice guy) and it looks like there is not.... I have FCP and the track names that I add in to my SD 633 are plain as day. See screenshot below: Thanks!

Seeing as how most of you have only been doing this for twenty years or so, I thought I'd share one of my helpful tutorials. You're welcome!

Has anyone here had a chance to listen to one (in person) yet? If so, what are your thoughts?

If you don't tell, then I wont!

This may help? Watch starting around 3:30

Hi Eric. The mics were approximately 18" from my pie-hole. You can definitely hear the difference when listening on headphones. The Audix doesn't have the "bite" that the 416 does, but for the money, it sounds pretty good to me. I think it may work nicely on some of the more edgy sounding voices? For $300 used on Ebay, I couldn't pass it up. Don't tell my wife....

Just to give you a sense of the difference in sound between the Audix SCX1 with hypercardioid capsule and the Sennheiser MKH 416. Recorded on a Sound Devices 633 in the same room, at the same distance and with the same gain settings. No additional processing has been done to the audio. I know, it's like comparing apples and oranges, but I thought it may be useful to someone? Listen to the audio sample on Soundcloud here!

I'm wondering if a cable like this would work with a bds (using NP1's) to power one of the mix pres for bag work?

Thanks to you all for the tips!

Hello all, First off, I've done quite a bit of searching on these boards and have not come up with any definitive answers, so... Does anyone know of a reputable place where I might send an MKH 416 P48 for repair (besides Sennheiser)? This particular mic seems to be lacking a bit in the lower end and also has quite a bit of self noise. Thanks! Dave
