  1. Kathy Baca at Lectro has been in touch with Satay very recently so all should be good. She said we are supposed to get the emailed quote today from Jan-ie at Satay who was going to work on it over the weekend. Best, Larry F Lectro
  2. There are definitely some clowns on this site. And yes, it was funny. Service@lectrosonics.com has been aliased over to service.repair@lectrosonics.com as it should have been. Either will now work. Best, Larry (version 1.0) Fisher Lectrosonics
  3. Hi Peter, All units with a "v" ; SMv and SMQv. Since all the Euro units are derived from the SMv at the low power setting of 50 mW, they can use the fix also. The variable power code introduced the bug to the code. Any units shipped after January of 2012 will have the update. Look for version 3.0 on the boot up screen. I don't think there is any gray area but if you have a question, email service@lectrosonics.com with serial numbers and model info. Best, Larry F Lectro
  4. The version numbers can also change due to different test procedures or self diagnostics during test. Higher firmware numbers are not always better; sometimes they are merely equivalent. As recommended, ask service or email service@lectrosonics.com for the info on versions. Your serial number and current version are necessary information. Cheers, Larry F Lectro
  5. Price is the same as last year and that's rare. Larry F
  6. Hi Matt, Not to be a PITA but we are letting the warranty stations collect names, quantities, schedules, etc., and then we are shipping to their needs as we build. If we try to do all of that from this end, we will FUBAR the process. Raycom has half the first run of 45 boards assigned to them already. Those boards are being shipped today. We have another 17 to be tested and shipped by the middle of next week and then a new build of 100 more by the end of February or sooner. Assume I have inserted usual the usual weasel worded disclaimer here. 7. Twenty WM's are assembled for FCC and CE testing and are in QC. FCC and CE is typically a two month process. My firmly spoken goal around here is to have them on the shelf for shipment by NAB. I sometimes feel that by the time we get this transmitter out the door, the planet will have dried up and there won't be any more water to proof it against. Best, Larry F Lectro
  8. Yep. If they are European SM's or SMv's or SMQv's they should have the sleep update. Best, Larry F Lectro
  9. The 45 Block 606 boards are now ready to ship to warranty stations and we are just waiting on feedback on quantities needed so we can balance them out and then start on the next 60 boards. Best, Larry F Lectro
  10. There were definitely some spots with extra polishing on the metal. It was hard to tell about dings because units get dropped on concrete, etc., in normal use anyway. Later, we found out that the production company had some goffer (gopher?), not the owner, ship them to us. Best, Larry F Lectro
  11. That is a shame, but at least some one else will get a chance at the Lectro giveaway. We'll miss his wallet though. Larry F
  12. Any SMv or SMqv. The bug was introduced with the variable power. A memory location is not being properly refreshed with the 4x DSP slowdown to save power. The older SM and SMa sleep properly. The version comes up in the bootup screen. New sleep version with the original PLL will be 1.9, i.e., any lower 1.x needs to go to 1.9 for proper sleep. The replacement PLL uses 2.x firmware and will go to 3.0. So 3.0+ or 1.9 is fixed; all else is borked. Best, Larry F Lectro
  13. Hi Nick, Get the systems completely away (100 yards or more) from any other piece of electronics. Don't trust anything. Use batteries for the receiver. Listen to the receivers with headphones only, no mixers, no head phone amps, nothing. If the range is good, you've got some interfering equipment. Best, Larry F Lectro
  14. Here's the SMv or SMQv sleep fix process: 1. Customer emails (preferably) or calls the service department with his shipping address, contact info, number of SMv or SMQv units and serial numbers (for your protection if units are lost). 2. We email a printable prepaid UPS shipping label and an RA number to the customer. 3. Customer prints out the label, UPS's the units to us 2nd day air Blue with the prepaid label and the RA number on the box. 4. Service will load in the new firmware, check that the insomnia is cured and return the units by 2nd day air Blue. Let us know what your must have date is so we can schedule customers with time emergencies. The service crew is good about such things. You can send in the units during a break any time in 2012 (2013 may not get here). email is service@lectrosonics.com (best) or 800 821-1121 (second best) Use a good stout box with sufficient packing so the units don't crash into each other. Honest to God, in the past, we've gotten two SM's in a 1 cu ft box without a scrap of packing material inside. They looked pretty lonely in there. Best Regards, Larry Fisher Lectrosonics
  15. Yes. It will immediately fall to 1.25-1.2V when it is being used. Cheers, Larry F Lectro
  16. Hi Jeff, Are you going to make it this year? LEF
  17. Hi Eric, That's what Satay's did last year. They collected the money for the buffet+ room and we had the fun. It's a cash bar. Best, Larry F Lectro
  18. What!!! You're fifty!??! Larry F
  19. Warranty stations and larger dealers that have a Lectro Link programmer. I'll get a list together. Best, Larry F Lectro
  20. Thanks, once again, for taking care of that. Larry F
  21. Hi Eric and all R.A.M.P.S. types, Kathy Baca at Lectro reserved the Satay patio last year right after NAB. We are starting to negotiate the price with the Satay Grille. Kathy is just starting in on the NAB stuff. I assume we will do the same as last year as far as the fabulous retro Lecto sound system, tags, buffet, drinks, admission, etc. One potential thing to leave out is that the discounted Margarita pitchers didn't sell at all last year. I don't think most attendees even knew about them. Last year was the first recent get together where no one was stuck with a large tab after the event. Yay! Let me emphasize, this is not a Lectro "thing". We just want to help out and do what we can do that is easy for us. Suggestions, volunteers or any other person or company that wants to join in is/are welcome. I assume, Eric, since you brought up the question, that you will be there? Best, Larry F Lectro
  22. Hi Chris, It is best to do it here though the reprogramming is not difficult. The cover is resealed with silicon for water resistance after we program the unit and I'd prefer that we do it. We will probably send a mailing envelope with instructions and with preprinted, prepaid UPS labels. I haven't discussed the details with customer service and shipping yet but I'll have an answer today. We will turn the units around the next day after they are received here. You can send them in at any convenient time in the future. Best, Larry F Lectro
  23. Yes. It required additional parts to allow the micro to startup when the memory is set to power restore. Best, Larry F Lectro
  24. "Insomnia" mode would be clearer? We found the firmware bug. The DSP is supposed to go to 1/4 the usual clock speed but a failure to update is leaving it at full tilt. Older units are OK, newer units have the bug. Now we have to make sure the "fixed" code is OK. QC checks to make sure the unit goes into "sleep" but doesn't, up to now, check the current in sleep mode. This will be one more checked item on a long list. Bad words go here, Larry F Lectro
  25. Rather than fix it, we just decided to call it "Toss and Turn". Best, Larry F Lectro
