  1. Hi I've noticed that when I mark the same take twice, the mirror folder only shows one. For example, I roll on S1T1 and mark it. And then I roll S1T1 again and mark it again. When I do that, it only shows one S1T1X in the mirror folder. There should obviously be 2 marked takes in the folder. In fact the primary folder shows 2 marked takes. Has anyone encountered this issue? And how did you solve it?
  2. Hi Soundies:) I am new to location sound(I have only been doing small commercials and TV shows in Tokyo for a couple of years). Recently moved to Australia and looking to get my foot in the industry. How do i go about becoming an assistant sound or PA for a production? I will probably still continue doing small indie projects myself but I really want to learn from seasoned sound mixers. Is sending emails to local sound mixers an legit option? I am bit worried about coming off desperate and potentially burning bridges. I know there are so many possible ways to get your start but I would love to hear how you guys got your start in location sound:))
  3. @IronFilm Thank you for the advice! I have done small commercials and TV shows but definitely I have felt like I was still under-skilled and under-equipped. Yeah it's going to be a lot of money... time to go back to cleaning toilets and save up some money! @codyman @afewmoreyears Thank you guys I decided to keep the 633 and save it..
  4. Hi guys I’ve been sound recording for about 2 years. I do mostly corporate and interviews I have ave very basic kit, 633, 1x sony wireless and 416. I rent anything else I need. It does most of the things I need. But it lately I’ve been thinking about selling 633 and buying zoom F4. With the extra money I will be able to afford sanken cos 11s and maybe one more wireless kit. Potentially tentacle boxes too. What do you guys think of this? Will I regret letting go 633? How good is zoom f4?
  5. Hi, i have this shoot coming up that is going to be run n gun documentary style shoot. How would you do your job as a sound guy? would you be tethered to camera all the time(which is not really an option, it is too clumsy). Or maybe sending the sound from Mixer to Camera with wireless kit like G3? Or mount a decent shotgun microphone on the camera? None of them seems like a perfect solution.

    VR audio

thank you again I hope they'll come out with windows version soon. So the Encoder basically is for mixing Ambisonic 360 audio. And workstation does more? Like adding single point sound in 360 space? I think i will try Reaper for now.

Thank you Dejan Thank you. Yes that software seems like a great place to start but they don't seem to have a version for windows? If that's true, do you know similar software?

  10. Hello!! my first comment on JWsound:) Im on a market for a bag for my 633. Im torn between sachtler, orca and stingray. Does stingray require angled xlr cables for proper fit? I don't want to buy new cables.
