Wow!! I did not know to this quite powerful one. 80% of the task is over when press learn. and no occurrence chirpy tone. Latency is 882 samples, and CPU load is very light, so it seems to be good for live broadcasting.

    Zoom F8

I expect it personally. Can it feed line level signal with XLR? That is something to worry about.

Wow!! This is just what I wanted some years ago. and I found quite nice plugin suite. https://lesound.io/ some natural phenomena generator. http://tsugi-studio.com/web/en/products-quickaudio.html This is not an audio plug-in. It can display waveform in Windows Explorer like AudioEase Snapper.

    MixPre-10T Rec/Stop button (failed)

Ah, seems like a fun idea! Didn't see the second button at first so I was a bit confused. Will you keep it in a cart setup or in a bag? Yes, I'm going to put it in my bag. It didn't work with Mixpre-10T. However, as long as it is used with computer, this is sufficiently reliable. Dials and bending sensors etc. are also sold in the catalog. So I want to build controllers using them.
  7. Mixpre-10T's joystick controller often deviate. and it cannot be record and stop at appropriate timing. Other day,I found some arcade game button and lever sold at video game shop. https://translate.google.com/translate?sl=ja&tl=en&js=y&prev=_t&hl=ja&ie=UTF-8&u=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.tops-game.jp%2Fproducts%2Flist.php%3Fcategory_id%3D115&edit-text=&act=url and I tried to build HID button with adafruit trinket. Working so far so good in Windows and Macintosh. Although it is recognized as a generic HID device in Computers. But did not work with MixPre-10T. Seems there is USB-Host compatibility problem in Trinket. http://translate.google.com/translate?hl=ja&sl=ja&tl=en&u=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.switch-science.com%2Fcatalog%2F1501%2F I was disappointed just because I liked his compactness. I will try another board in the near.
  8. exactly. The manual is written with priority on using at outside of studio.

    North Korea microphone surplus.

It does politicians in my country too. Each microphone is connected to recorder of each broadcasting stations. (I think it is a shabby way) However, I only know Pyongyang Broadcasting for the North Korean broadcasting station. So I really do not know what to set for. If all the microphones are working, comb filter effect should occur.
  10. Hi. I am using SENNHEISER AMBEO for now. However, Characteristics and S/N ratio are not perfect. Is there quad-microphone that like Neumann KU100 sound character. Anyone have a recommend? During this time, I bought pair of BLUE HummingBird. Character is far from the Neumann KU100 but it has quite good S/N ratio and transient response. I might buy two more of this and operate those as Double-XY. Just like him.

    Need recommendation for Ambisonic microphone

Regarding that, I have recorded that compare for SD and ZOOM with EM173 EM173 is higher SPL EM172. Certainly the noise floor is very low. but the problem is sound character that is excessive high frequency. I am looking forward to details of RODE. and I will decide to live a life like a monk for the SPS 200 for a while. I want it very much.

    Need recommendation for Ambisonic microphone

I also think so. I think that reproducibility is better when there is a dummy head when dropping somethings to feet or when the airplane flying above the head. White entry model quieter than Freespace Pro. It using Primo EM172 capsule. SN rate is 80dB at 1kHz. (but I don't like em172's sound character so much) https://3diosound.com/products/free-space-xlr-binaural-microphone This mic capsule can be bought at micbooster.com Thank you. I want SPS 200 more and more.

    Need recommendation for Ambisonic microphone

Thanks, it is very interesting. SPS200's self noise seems 14dBA(IEC) I think this is pretty quiet because it is the same as a low price binaural microphone such as 3dio.

Sound Devices MixPre-3 vs Zoom F4

Made with this() It's popular with audio lovers in my country. https://translate.google.co.jp/translate?sl=ja&tl=en&js=y&prev=_t&hl=ja&ie=UTF-8&u=https%3A%2F%2Foyaide.com%2Fcatalog%2Fproducts%2Fp-3904.html&edit-text=&act=url I like the solder containing lead because it is easy to process. but I must use this solder because of environmental protection problems. On my experience solder seems not to affect the sound much.

Sound Devices MixPre-3 vs Zoom F4

Today I recorded 2 binaural files for comparison. Aligned to same gain and same fader in both recorders. Nonetheless, ZOOM F4 file is about 4 dB louder, so I will also attach 2 normalized files with -4dB. Equipments are DavinchHead Mk.2 Binaural Mic (Primo EM173 Microphone x2 with zener diode and fet) Mogami 2534 cable (Mic-to-YCable) Mogami 2901 cable(YCable-to-Recorders) Neutrik and cheap made in China connector Now hear it!! (Downloadable) (96kHz 24bit files) https://drive.google.com/file/d/1tLPTwAA7jWsw4f4vT1XJ3q9Tm4ZwDm04/view?usp=sharing I feel MixPre is somewhat better sound, but the difference is negligible. It may be prominent when recording music, but I am not organizing a band for now unfortunately. However, both are practical recorder surely. I think the important thing was an appropriate setting as IronFilm says.

Sound Devices MixPre-3 vs Zoom F4

I compared the noise floor of ZOOM F4 and Sound Devices MixPre-10T. According to the spec sheet, the performance of the MixPre-10T's preamp seems to be the same as MixPre-3 probably. I soldered 150 ohm resistor between 2-3 pin in XLR Male Plug. It emulates a 150 ohm dynamic microphone that switched off. and aligned to trim +75 and fader +0 both recorder. Then hit record button. The following test results were obtained.... The MixPre's noise is slightly thinner than F4. F4 has a signal like a dense ham noise under than 1Hz. Looking at the analyzer, MixPre seems a bit quieter than F4. I love either recorder. But I am a Japanese. So I'd like to vote to ZOOM with motherland favoritism. However,If I choose recorder by sound quality. I choose SoundDevices.
