Definitely, I don’t mean to cast judgement. It was meant to be more of a praise to autotrim and how quick it can be on a multichannel shoot. 🙂 We will wait and see how the new method works in the real world.

I kind of agree with you, depending on what channel you are trying to adjust and where you are starting from, it could be quite a few button pushes. As far as I understand it, you have to push the trim button once to access trim for 1-5, a second time for 6-10, etc. You then would have to push the fader button again to get to 1-5 faders, and a second time to get to 6-10, and so forth.

I'm not 100% sure how it works, but it sounded like you would have to push the trim button to access trim control on the encoders. If you wanted trim 5, you would twist the 5th knob, if you needed to access trim 6, you would have to hit the trim button again to access 6-10. I think this is how it works, but again I'm not totally sure. Please correct me if I'm wrong. But if that is the case, it does seem a bit more cumbersome to access than autotrim in my opinion, but maybe not. One might just have to get used to it. I do remember initially when autotrim was released, I wasn't sure if I was going to like it compared to having a physical gain knob. It turns out I think autotrim turned into one of the quickest and easiest ways to access gain control, even over a physical knob. On the other hand there is the example of virtual faders, which were just too cumbersome and difficult to access on the fly in a multicast or reality situation. That is why I gravitated toward the FP8.All of this is just my personal experience with these things. I think autotrim was a great advance over physical faders and I'm a little sad to see it go, but hopefully it is for a new and better way.

I'm really hoping Zaxcom doesn't get rid AutoTrim! It is so useful and fast.

I would love to hear your findings when everything finally ships!

I’m curious how well the wireless performs in Nova in comparison to whips on QRX 200s and also to QRXs with Micplexer, both whips and dipoles. Time will tell!

    Is autotrim gone?
  9. I agree too. I don’t think I’ll be using this card anymore either way. Better safe than sorry. I’ll try the formatting thing just out of curiosity. The card formats properly in the 633 though.
  10. I get that it could fix bad sectors, but I don’t see how it could ‘identify’ issues the card may have.
  11. Just curious how this would help identify any issues with the card?
  12. Interesting. Thanks for the info!
  13. Interesting. How often did it happen if you remember?
  14. Not too old, San Disk Extreme 64 GB, 120mb/sec, UDMA 7. I'm hoping that is it and not my machine, but I'm used to hearing that bad cards usually result in a corrupted file in general, not noise on a track. But I could be wrong, and I hope I am.
  15. Hi everyone! So I own a 633 that has been solid for many years, no issues, and I just was randomly scrubbing some interview files and noticed there was about a 30-60 second section that has an intermittent digital blip at a very precise rate, audio dropouts, and then extremely loud static noise (at 0dB). Here are the notes: This was across all tracks equally Only happened on the WAV files on the CF Didn't happen on the MP3 files on the SD card Didn't happen the rest of the 2 day shoot or the rest of the files before or after the incident Wasn't audible or visible while recording both CF and SD are on approved media list On version 4.50, might upgrade to 4.60 now though. Happy to provide more info that I missed. I've read about noise being on all output tracks, but mine is the opposite, only on the cards, never heard it while recording. Any thoughts or suggestions would be helpful! Marked the card for now and won't use it.
  16. Yeah, error code EX0 here too when trying to message and others are reporting the same thing too.
  17. Tested out ZHD 48, 96, and XR with 48 having best results but delay is greater.
  18. Funny you should mention this. I’ve have both Lectros and Zaxcom’s, and one area where I have had issues with the Zaxcom’s was in highly reflective environments. While the ZHD did help a bit, my lectros dis seem to perform better with reflections and phase cancellations. 🤷‍♂️
  19. So today I encountered something I’ve never seen on my SRb. I was using them in dual mode and everything was working fine. Talent left set with their TXs still on, out of range, and then came back to set. Channel 2 had mysteriously stopped passing audio. I thought it was the Tx, but I tuned channel 1 to channel 2’s freq and it was picking it up fine. The odd thing is when I go to the channel 2 freq page on the SRb, the number is flashing, channel 1 doesn’t do this and my other SRbs don’t do this regardless if they are picking up a Tx signal or not. It’s not a pilot tone thing or compatibility thing. What does this flashing frequency mean? To add to the oddness, I powered it on and off many times which didn’t help. Once I got home and powered it up again, it is fine, flashing stopped. Any ideas?
  20. Is the input audio on the IFB200 different than the CL? I can barely get the MP series to register usable audio on the CL. When I send tone from my MP3, I barely get a blip on the CL screen... am I missing something as far as bumping up the level?

    Zaxcom TRXCL3

I wonder if there is any possibility to upgrade single block CL's to WB...
  22. I have both Lectro and Zax units. I have found that in highly reflective environments (lots of flat metals surfaces), the Zaxcom units tend to struggle more compared to Lectro. You will have full signal but still sometimes get random drops. ZHD handles this a bit better depending on the setting.
