none of what you say is true. efi is a boot loader and has nothing to do with a hack. what poor WiFi? apple uses standard Broadcom WiFi cards that you can find in a lot of Windows computers. they use airport driver. sound works the only thing I had to install was the card reader.

They could not save the IPHONE. This years jailbreak rulling against Apple clearly outlines the right of the consumer to do as he likes with a product he purchase . nobody have a say when it is your own property.

Hackintosh implies that something is hacked and it is usualy used when you talk about hacking the OS. how is this a Hackintosh when you are not modifying the OS. it is not. You run the osx on the same hardware as Apple. every hardware in an Apple you can find in a PC. They do not own the hardware. They do not manifacture it. It is a very weak legal argument.

How much do you want to bet that if apple sues somebody that purchased the OSX and uses it on a PC they will never win? That is way they will never sue anybody. Now if you are selling PCs with OSX then that is a different deal.

First I would like to thank you for the great review. Second this rode lav sounds very good to my ears. And comparing to the Rode shotgun the match is very good. One of my favorite mics is a Rode S1.

Again If you have Boot EFI - a small usb drive plus the retail DVD is the same as installing on a mac. To be honest the only inconvenience might be changing the wireless Lan card with the same chip set that apple uses.

In my opinion netbook prices are keeping steady since they were introduced with cheap prices. I got my first one brand new for $240.

this is not the right section of the forum for political rants. Nothing that I own is made in Chinatown apart from what was already in my house when I got it. Some compact flash maybe. Jeff Yes you can use original snow leopard dvd you just need a small flash drive to make the snow leopard think that it is a real mac. The instalation process is 100% the same. No hackintosh. I have no idea what you mean. All computers are the same. A PC architecture. Every computer runs every OS - OSX, Windows, Solar, Linux etc. The difference is APPLE try to protect theirs with a simple block. They will never succeed in blocking it. As long as they use PC operation system people will install OSX And the Ipad has done nothing for the price of the net books. Totally different devices. The Ipad will lower the prices of windows "IPAD" If Ipad did not exsist the new HP SLATE would be at least $2000. Ipad is not something that Apple invented. Windows tablets have been around for a long time. Apple just found out how to produce it cheaper. By enslaving Chinese people.

Jeff, Clock speeds have always been a marketing tool. I would not say they are not important but they are the least important spec. If the Air has Intel I7, clock speed should not bother you at all. But when they under clock the "NATIVE" clock speed like they did with the previous Air, then you get a real performance issues.

Do you think they rigged the review and processed the Rode Lav? It sounds great.

It is not a hack. It installs from the original DVD. Works the same as on apple. The reason I mention it will run OSX is because most people here would not buy anything but APPLE. (: As I mentioned in previous posts I would love to have a small tablet that will get in the front of my Pegz1. I can then copy the files from the 744t card, do a sound report and email it. Setup my Htc HD2 to wireless router and the tablet will have internet everywhere. I would not buy the HP. Not only because their abuse of workers but because the price is very high. BTW Apple and Dell is made in the same factories. Asus is my bet for a good device. I have been using their hardware exclusively for 15 years and have not had a crash. Not to mention their 2 years "no questions asked" warranty. It can burn. Flood. Break in 2. THEY WILL EXCHANGE IT.

I would wait to see what the best computer manufacturer in world ASUS will come up with. I hope it is windows 7 and not android.

By looking at the specs I do not see a reason why it should not run snow leopard operation system since snow leopard is a PC OS. I am not very happy with the video card but for nothing video intensive it is an excellent little device. Wave agent anybody?

Go and test genelec next to the adam ax3. Ax3 blows them away. Now here is my cheap suggestion. Since most sound you will be working with is high passed, try the fostex 0.5. Very small and not terribly sounding.

Here is my simple semi professional but personally proved answer. If you are using Red audio for reference track only and using the 552 recorded audio aka double system. Send a tone from the mixer to the Red. Make sure you do not overload the red.Adjust. The reason is plural eyes does not like it. Monitor you 552 audio and make sure you don't hit the limiter as much. Use the 552 audio in 24bit and stop caring about headrooms and levels. Correct me if I am wrong but are levels to CAM that important if you are syncing via plural Eyes? I do not think so. I messed up my wireless g3 hop once and got a very low level audio reference track. Plural had no problem with it. NOW if you will be using the RED audio in the final cut then research, maybe find an older/experienced sound professional in Portland. Mow his lawn. Buy him Coffee. Do his laundry. And go with him to gigs to assist,watch and learn.
