  1. I've used the MY-DUGAN cards in both 01V96 and 01V96i boards for years. It always works very well. To adjust the weighting or watch the gain proportioning in action you will need either an external computer (available on basically any OS as the software is written in JAVA) or the iPad setup mentioned above.
  2. TRX is upgradable. Basically everything except ERX is upgradable.
  3. Previous ERX models cannot be upgraded due to DSP board changes.
  4. I had a similar issue with incomplete mirroring that was happening pretty consistently on my Nomad 10 running 7.27. Always rescued by MARF primary cards, but certainly a hassle (and intially pretty troubling before I had a workaround). Happened 3 days in a row, so I chatted with Howy and he recommended trying to remirror with the original file naming convention (I had previously been using scene and take file name option). This resolved the issue for me, hasn't happened since. Maybe that is worth trying, if problems persist for anyone.
  5. Really intense. Definitely reinforces the power of sound in film given the near complete lack of visual flourishes. One note though, the play and film script are based (mostly verbatim) on flight recorder transcripts. The audio in the film is that of the actor's performances futzed to approximate the sound of a voice recorder.
  6. Hey Thomas, Just wanted to say thanks for putting this together. Just read through it. Really like the interactive format with embedded videos. I'm teaching an intro to production sound class and I'm excited to be able to recommend such a thorough intro to lav technique to them. Should help them get up to speed faster. Thanks! Jason

  8. Arri uses a Peltier cooler on the Alexa sensor, which seems to be working pretty well. I was hoping for something similar on the Epic. With the Epic's current level of fan noise can an acceptable dialogue track be recorded on location interiors?
  9. Hey Robert and Jon, Would you mind if another LA-based student came along? I'd love to see the gear and ask a few questions. Thanks, Jason Meadows
