  1. This statement really bothers me. I would hope that if we get the whole scene on boom great except for the first line in a wide shot post would take the time to make the lav sound the boom and use the boom for rest of scene.
  2. I really like the demo would be really helpful
  3. While I appreciate IDX being here John Ritter does excellent work and many camera men I know have used his services for years and his work is top notch and the batteries look fine after he puts them back together
  4. http://www.ritterbattery.com Yes he is legit I haven't had any of my Np1 done but many friends have with positive results. He has done over a dozen batteries for camera men I work with and all function as new
  5. When I do a movie we usually wire everyone all the time. I view it as better to have it and not need it then to need it and not have it. In the reality world we wire everyone all the time everytime. When I am doing corporate or commercial work I only wire when needed.
  6. You need an Ambient Eumel it has a switching circuit in it so it will work with anything wired TA5 http://www.trewaudio.com/store/Ambient-Eumel.html
  7. Only 744T procedure is on website not 788T
  8. Make sure you have a timecode lock with the camera via a sync box and then your good to go even if he doesn't listen. As long as your recording your good to go. Most of us don't run a wireless return it just isn't needed. As a side note in 14 years of using wireless hops ( 210D first then 211 then Zaxcom Stereo Line and now a LMA/SRB hop) I have NEVER had a major issue.
  9. If I could earn a living working on only corporate and commercial gigs I would. Decent rate and usually 10 hours or less a day is a great way to earn a living IMHO. When I hit my 30's I started to much prefer easier work. Being in a smaller market isn't all that bad.
  10. Yes another day at the office for most of us. Being cabled to camera makes your job 50-60% harder. I never cabled to camera anymore unless we are on sticks.
  11. As some who has owned a 702T, 744T , 302, 442, 552 and now owns a 633 664 788. The preamps in the 633 are great and the extra features will be great for you

  13. get an Apple Air Print compatible printer
  14. I always drop the bag in the trunk or back seat I have tried all the things above and none of them are reliable solutions.
  15. Every time I watch it I still find it funny and so true. Marc is brilliant for sure. My 2 favorite lines are "Vinny is a 3 month veteran of the film biz" and " I guess this will sound better then the mic on the Zoom"
  16. Still using a Ipod touch 4th generation on set for CL-Wifi and Freq Finder
  17. I wanted to add a few extra USB outlets to my sound cart to charge phones and power a USB lamp I bought. I found this little gem on Amazon. It has 2 outlets and a 5V regulator in it. I just added a 4 pin XLR plug and it works. I have been testing it for 2 days on a DC power supply and seems to be good to go $14.99 on Amazon : http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00NEUDEFG/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o02_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
  18. Can't beat the Q28 I bought two earlier this year and have been very happy with them I still have 3 SB-3 boxes but I think they go up for sale very soon
  19. +1 No matter how much equipment you purchase nothing replaces a skilled sound mixer
  20. 90% of the time if I am doing a sitdown I only use a Overhead placed slightly forward to incase they lean. I will only wire for a sitdown if we are in a nasty location
  21. I was told Iphone and Ipod Touch version will be released in a year or so. I returned my Beetle because I like using an Ipod Touch to control my 788T
  22. I disagree the fastest and most effective way to interview someone in a controlled room is with a boom I often use a HM plug on to keep things neat and safe. No need to wire someone in a decent sounding room when sitting
  23. Recently I upgraded to an Ipad Mini and wanted to find a mounting solution that I could leave my protective case on while quickly mounting it to 2 different carts I own. a PSC cart for commercial and feature work as well as my Rock N Roller R-12 for ENG work. I also wanted a mount that would be more likely to be compatible with future products and not designed to work with one specific model of tablet. After much research I decided the Matthew Grip MUT system was the best option it will accommodate any brand or size of tablet plus it advertises you can leave virtually any case on it when using the mount ( This isn't 100% true but more on that later). I really wanted a mount I could leave my protective case on as I had damaged my older Ipad when I dropped it trying to install it in the mount I had for it. So I ordered all the parts listed in the video link below and everything worked as advertised except the mount wasn't tight enough with the Ipad Mini out of the protective case and was too loose for my taste without the protective case. It fit but not how I had hoped. So I took a drill to the sliding slot on rear of mounting bracket so I could install it tighter by lengthening the slot to close it tighter onto the Ipad Mini. If your using a regular Ipad it should be tight with no issue Overall I am very happy so far I have a long term project coming up that I will use it everyday on but out of all the mounts I have looked it I think this is the best one I have seen. BH stocks all the parts and kits all I had to do was put the matthews part number into the search and it was easy to order everything I needed for about $325.00 Below is link to Matthews Website the Youtube video explains both of the options I am using http://www.msegrip.com/product/new-product-showcase/matthews-universal-tablet-mount.html Filmtools also sells the parts as well but the price was much higher
  24. It wasn't IOS 8 compatible I got a beta copy and it still has a long way to go before I'd use it on set very buggy
