  1. And will also vaguely and barely work too........
  2. Here is a post from another thread: Jeff, The Maxell DVD-RAM media has worked fine for me. The Maxell part number for the 50 disc spindle is 636108. I've purchased them from Century Magnetics in the past, mostly because they are close to me, in Annapolis MD. http://www.shopsprite.net/~lawson/cgi-bin/store.cgi/I/864/1X8OO-2O514-8414R-XS464-R490 Best regards, Jim
  3. On a feature I did with a PD-6 we got the dvd-ram with caddy from Tape Resources http://www.taperesources.com/VCM-S-M.html. Not sure if it is a good price or not but worked well the whole shoot

  5. Most Style Network shows I do are 12-13 episodes per season
  6. If they are close by a loud noise like a starter pistol or siren will work.
  7. Richard, Sounds like a trial by fire job and just as bad as some of my war stories... Your such a nice guy I hope that your spirit didn't get broken here is the way I have handled shoots like this: 2-3 ENG Sound Mixers with either a 442 or the 604 ( (2) 302 hooked together). with 4 or 5 wireless on the same block and a zaxcom hop to camera. By using the programmable tuning groups in the 411a's you and the other mixers can easily swap talent to your bag depending upon who your camera is covering. This works, for everything that happens at the mansion usually someone else in the control room is recording ISO tracking as well as the ENG mix your recording. This set up sounds like more equipment then you had a budget for.
  8. If he paid you directly and not the production company or payroll service he most likely marked up your rate to production and made a profit off of you (This is very common in the corporate world) Just move on from this, I just can't believe this mixer it also sounds like he may have inflated the value of this cable. But just move on I won't want to work with him again if I was you.
  9. He owes you $600.00 back, You did the stand up thing and offered to pay for half of it, which is being more than fair. but since he took 20 days to tell you that is just not right, Don't work for him again and just move on.
  10. Mick, According to IMDB Rudi Buckle has mixed most of the episodes 46 in total.
  11. Is anyone using a Cf to SD card adapter inside there machine? My new netbook has a build in SD card reader and would like to be able to use SD cards instead thanks
  12. I just use earbud style headphones. Target has ones called "Fashion Buds" they are usually 8.00 a pair. Since I am a one main show reality guy I can carry around 10 pairs in a zip lock if someone just wants to use one ear bud I just wrap the other bud to the headphone cable with white electrical tape and your done. On most projects I just give everyone a new set of headphones and just charge the company for them since they are only 8.00 a pair
  13. Glen, I think your review was very frank and honest, I wish that zaxcom would keep there manuals more up to date and have a FAQ knowledge base on there website like lectrosonics. I like my zaxcom products but I think should gather more user input during development. Having Private line talk back would have been high on my list too for features that needed to be added
  14. all three of mine both older and newer if handled roughly by the camera man during a battery change or if being worn in a fanny pack will have the battery door pop open. A piece of gaff tape fixes this though I always make sure to use white tape so they can easily see it lol
  15. As someone who is not a "Baby Boomer" How does this system work? Looks like a easy solution.
  16. I was about to buy this for my mac and have read mixed reviews about if the MAC version is stable enough. Any thoughts?
  17. Dan and all others, They are Legit, and very friendly along with being fair priced. I have had my insurance with them for 3 years now
  18. Phil, It is the same same people as before Dewitt sold the whole division including the employees. I still deal with Brandy and the same office crew just a different company
  19. Same kind of thing happened to me last year in Charleston Sc. It was November but it was about 85 and we were shooting inside a old baptist church with no A/C. The network and agency people show up right from the airport in turtle necks, boots and big coats. They said "We never checked the weather before we left we figured it was 15 degrees here too". So we sent them to Walmart and everyone was happy.
  20. JK Audio BluePack http://www.jkaudio.com/bluepack.htm This should do the trick
  21. Early on in high school when I started experimenting with sound equipment and doing alot of live sound (Which everyone told me was not a good career choice) I considered going to Flagler College in Saint Augustine FL to get a history degree so I could teach history but once I picked up a boom pole I never looked back
  22. I have to agree this appears to be a data nightmare for post production to keep track of not to mention alot of time for you to burn media. As someone who owns a 702t and 744t I agree everyone is comfortable with sound devices products, But I have used a DEVA as well and think that most experienced mixers should be able to get the hang of it quickly. If I had this job I would use boom recorder though due to price and ease of use.
  23. No my 211's are in block 27 and 201's are in 21 zaxcom hops in 24. I do alot of travel work and like having 2 different blocks available to me.
  24. I have (4) 211 systems with 250c tx and (3) 201 systems. There is nothing wrong with any of these systems they sound good and work well. I think IMHO that the 211 250c combo is great I get 3.5-4hours of battery life out of my tx's with my Ipower batteries while getting a high powered tx. the 200 tx are also lighter than um400 tx. Since I do mostly Reality tv work and news stuff I will never hear the difference in noise floor between the two systems. However I do plan to upgrade at some point in the future I think I am going to wait to Late 2009 after the DTV switch though. The checks keep clearing and that all that matters
  25. Block 27 is great in Miami still most of GA and Sc too.
