Thanks for the advice. When I speak to potential employers I definitely try my best to assert my position and my work. I just wanted to let everyone (here who are fellow mixers and so on) to know that I'm always open to learning from people who have done this longer, but I guess it sounds desperate instead of competent. Hope I see some of you guys in person soon on or off the field!

Thats what I guessed. Unfortunately, I dont even have that many friends in the industry to do favors for. =) Yeah, you're absolutely right. I just wanted to see if anyone took those free gigs and it paid off for them because they returned the favor.

Hey everyone, I finally got the courage to ask a question, after lurking around and reading posts from others. I was hoping some people can offer some of their experiences with this situation. Just a little background info about myself. I'm 23, fresh out of college in the LA area, building my bag + (cart one day), as well as trying to gain as much experience/connections as possible. I got offered to do a gig no pay, but the producers have worked on bigger movies that seem to be on the up and coming. Art coordinators and production managers etc. Maybe I can get hired to do something bigger if I do a good job. But there is another gig that pays, but the producers are unknown and might not yield nothing, but a financial reward. I was wondering what choice many of the veterans here have made and how they felt about that decision. Thanks for the advice.
