  1. There was a change to the timecode in the Alexa Mini that is causing errors in the camera when connecting an ERX. I highly recommend testing a few days in advance incase you need to source separate tc boxes. This is pretty much common knowledge with most Zaxcom folks. Good luck. 2. Maybe I missed it but you may want to discuss what type of jobs people would do when choosing poly over mono files. I personally have never gotten a request for mono files but my track counts never go over 12, on average I usually run 4-8 tracks. I do may types of jobs, narrative, doc reality type series commercial and etc. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  3. It depends on what you do with the file before downconverting and what type pf recording.
  4. Blas Kisic did some interesting doc work last year, he customized some clothing that worked well. You may want to contact him.
  5. You're enabled inputs depend on the config you use, I use #14 8 AES in, 1-4 mic inputs (neverclip on 1&2) plus returns 1&2. Zaxnet has to be enabled to send and receive zaxnet commands and audio, use any config that lets you enable Zaxnet, this is most of them. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

  8. Blas Kisic did quite a bit of work with Kobe last year successfully wired on the court. You may want to ask him about it. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  9. How close are they? What blocks are they on? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  10. You could get the windows version of wave agent and run it under WINE on Linux. I use that similarly for AATranslator on Mac.
  11. Available for work ASAP, mix, boom, or utility. Bag or cart. Union / Non-Union. TIA. -Michael Martin 408-483-9403 Mike@LASoundMixer.com
  12. Is there a protective shield you could wrap the transmitter in a leave the antenna out? Sent from my SM-G920V using Tapatalk
  13. +1 on the control surface Alex...and apparently Greg. An updated TRX boom transceiver that uses 9v or AA batteries. I'd also like to see a DPA figure 8 for M+S. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk HD
  14. I'm going to contradict Jon on the Focusrite. I have a Scarlett 8i6 and while it's no UAD or Prism I find that it's pretty flat but has nice fidelity, not uber flattering but to me it's better most of the low end BOB/interfaces for VO work and monitoring. Level controls never seemed to be an issue. It also has a nice setup interface on the mac side. Never been a fan of Tascam or Zoom, at least on the low end.
  15. Sorry to hear it, my wife and I have been loyal viewers as well.
  16. And yet another lame comment. Come on Mike, the point is to find out of anyone has their 633 go up in smoke and details if so, that's it. You're obviously a guy with a wealth of useful knowledge, doesn't it make sense to just try being constructive once in a while? -Mike M
  17. Another pointless comment. -Mike M
  18. Bahahaha!!! -Mike M
  19. On a job using a 633 and about a minute after I hot swapped an NP1 it fizzled a bit and let out some smoke on the left side by XLR inputs 2 and 3, smelled like metal and plastic. I pulled the NP1 since that's the last thing that changed, it still runs on the internal and external batts. I recommended to the owner to send it in for a check. Anyone see this happen? -Mike M
  20. With the Joly mod the self noise is in-audible at least to me, you will be hearing the noise in your camera preamps before you hear the noise from these mics. IMHO they sound great for many different voices as modded (low self noise, better transient response and better headroom) but not so much straight from the factory and in contrast to your statement I find they're not very musical.
  21. I have used Joly modified MK012's for the past four years and stand by them. They don't quite have the reach and picking up a super cardioid is on my list this year but they are absolutely wonderful microphones. Btw, the mic floor noise is pretty much eliminated with the mod but they tend to need a little extra gain in general, if you have a Nomad or Maxx no worries though.
  22. The previous trxlt was 50mW with neverclip and the trxlth with 125mW output but no neverclip, now the trxlt2.5 or 2.6 is 125mW with neverclip and new modulation. While I'm excited for the new products I am a bit disappointed that my dealer didn't advise me to hold off for a month or so for some "exciting new products" related to the purchase I made in which I was told that I had to forego one option (NC) to get the other (125mW), and was told it was not possible to have both. I think the point people are making about a trade-in or upgrade path is totally valid in circumstances like this, we're not talking iPhones here. Not angry but disappointed until I hear more.
