  1. "Lifetime Warranties"....Hmmm. That's just crazy enough to work. Travis Groves

  3. Hi Wayne, A few things I've noticed using both boxes; TC input on the SB-T is 1/8" mini vs. lemo on the Lockit, and syncing the Lockit is marginally faster than the SB-T- just plug in and unplug, jammed. The SB-T requires you plug in, wait for flashing lights to indicate sync, then unplug. That being said, I like both boxes...but I like the Lockit a little more. Travis Groves
  4. I love my CMIT; use it all the time. This week I've been shooting in a marbled space with 25' ceilings, and the filters saved my ass. The CMC6/41, my usual go to mic, just couldn't cut through the mud. With the high freq. boosted and low freq. rolled off on the CMIT, the dialog came forward and the boomy room reflections were greatly reduced. It's my not so secret weapon for extremely live rooms. 5. Or how about explaining why regular condoms just won't do; "I need six boxes of unlubricated condoms...U N L U B R I C A T E D!!!" I yell as I shake my fist at the poor pharmacist...ackward silence...and I'm banned from yet another CVS.
  6. Hi Brian, Unfortunately I've had some humidity issues with the CMIT 5. It was a steamy Georgia night and the mic was not in a Zeppelin, it motor boated and sputtered until we took it down. After it dried out, it was its usual sweet sounding self. After that night, we kept it in the zepp with a windjammer and under a trash bag to keep off condensation. Travis Groves
  7. Jeff, with regards to Impulse Responses, have you ever been approached by the Post Supervisor to gather I.R.s on set. I know that gathering the impulse responses has evolved into a fairly elaborate ordeal; with sine wave sweeps from omni directional speakers and multiple locations, but the deconvolving software is also improving. I wouldn't be surprised that in the future, I.R. technology is used for all manner of acoustic/phase related problems. By the way, lots of good info about Impulse Response technology at the Waves (PT plug-ins) website. Travis Groves Savannah, Ga
  8. Thanks Richard and John, looks like another Home Depot project in the making. In our world of $900 boom poles and $3000 sound carts, it's especially satisfying when I can construct a tool that works at a fraction of the price. Case in point; I'm pretty sure Coleman Metts at one point used a mtn. bike handlebar as an antenna mount. I think my next project will be a Rat Rod sound cart; flat black, jockey shift, and a springer front end. Does Hollywood Chairs make a model with a banana seat? Travis Groves
  9. Is the cart a custom build, or did you buy it? thanks, Travis
  10. Good stuff Larry, any friend of the Pixies is a friend of mine. Recently I've been reaching out to the lesser explored regions of I tunes, discovered the band Menomena...very...interesting.
  11. One tid bit when using off the shelf products that have adhesives, dont cheap out on generics. I've found the Dr. Scholes corn pads and mole skin to be far stickier than the off brands. My two cents and all that... -Travis Groves

How 'bout "Mixer On the Sauce" or more accurately, "Missed Opportunity for Sound"
  13. Whitney means Sennheiser MD 421. They can often be found used on E bay.
