1. Dual mode records a second pair of channels -12dB or -6dB below the first pair. I'm not sure what you're asking...
2. Thank you Jack, message sent. Really appreciate the help!
3. My zaxcom is (still) awaiting activation. Is anyone else unable to access the new firmware?
4. I have and use both. One is black, and one is white. No other difference. I think they come in beige, too.
5. Turns out the screw holding the crimp down was loose. I love an easy fix. Thank you, Wandering Ear! David
6. I have a COS 11-D I'm hoping to repair... reading this is not making me hopeful. I've done 4- and 5-pin lemos and all flavors of ta connectors before, so at the very least I'm hoping this will be a learning experience. What tool would someone recommend to remove the rubber boot from the back of a FVB.00.303.NLA (screw-type) lemo? David
7. Do what I've done with the Petrol cups and poke your own holes for the STA cables....
8. The NTSC camera will produce a clip with .01% fewer frames that takes the same amount of time to playback.
9. Last Epic job I did, I got away with using a senny g2 on C-band as a camera hop... Now the privately-owned property of Comcast. Only use it's seen in 3-4 years.

Does someone make a shirt that says "Better dead than [red logo]"?
10. Exactly what I've taken to doing when I'm wearing the bag.
11. I wired two NP-1 cups in parallel to a single connector.
12. Biggest problems could be the Epic's fan and generally low quality audio inputs. If you have enough time, CYA and record a backup. DL
13. Interesting, I've never used them in a Zaxcom recorder. The thickness hasn't made any difference using them in cups... It might even make it harder from them to slip out! DL
14. The first battery supplies more watts at slightly higher nominal voltage compared to the second. The voltage on both (indeed, on any 14V Liion battery) will fluctuate from 16.5V+ down to below 13V. If you're still looking at brands, you should check out global media pro. They have a 65w np1 for $100. The quality is as good if not better than IDX and most other brands. The only weird part is they only take payment via wire transfer, so figure $30 on top plus another $100 or so for insured DHL 3-day delivery (only option they offer. Considering they arrive from china, the service is pretty good!) They also seem to be the only manufacturer who ships directly from the factory, so in theory their batteries should have the longest service life. I have 4 of their NP-1s, and will happily shell out for more when I need them. DL
