  1. Ok thanks fellas ... did a loose search here but nothing caught my eye. I was planning on entering all 16 'compatible' (lectro) freqs, didn't get very far! You work the auction Chris? Ben t
  2. Hey folks, FreqFinder is very quickly telling me there is intermod issues with freqs that the Lectro chart says are compatible. Anyone?
  3. +1 shubisnax - I found this on one C300 that I shot with.
  4. Worked on the TVCs for one of the major hardware stores here in Aus. The prod company specifically requested the audio to be recorded direct to the red, as they'd use that as the master. Couldn't convince them otherwise.
  5. I always send a scratch track, but never call it master audio, that's crazy talk! I guess this camera I used had a major issue and yes, my friend should have been on top of it, and got it fixed, especially as there'd been issues before. Thank you all for the feedback!
  6. Hi folks, Just wanted to write of my experience with using a Scarlet yesterday. I know there is a lot written about the on camera audio situation with the Scarlet, but I had a that had me stumped, and I just want to see if the camera I was using had some major issue with its build or pre-amps. I have shot with most cameras, and many times on the Epic without any issue, but yesterday I just could not get clean audio into this scarlet. Mind you, it was an early model with serial # 79, and hadn't ever had a firmware upgrade. This was helping out an old friend. It was a sit down interview, and he owned the camera. So I ran tone into the camera out of my 552, via my loom at mic level through two unbalanced input cables. The smallest level would appear on the meters, only just audible with headphone gain at full steam. I backed of all levels and sent line level out, and presto, the meters lined up, although one was about 10db lower than the other. I took a listen, and it was the most distorted sound i think i've ever heard, period. I flipped it to -10 tape level out, and the meters dropped out completely, leaving me with the same situation as before, audio barely registering on the meters and no sound unless everything cranked to the max. This was the issue, either no audio at all, or super hot, total distortion, even with a very small difference in input signal. After trying everything in the menu, with different cables, pads, etc. I could only say that the camera needed a service. I guess because I hadn't used the Scarlet specifically, it was hard to assume just that. My friend vaguely said that there had been issues before, but I felt he didn't want to expand on it much, maybe he felt it reflected badly on him. Anyway, does this ring any bells for anyone?
  7. The forums more fun thanks guys, sorted!
  8. Two new SRb's in the bag, couldn't be happier. Don't suppose there is a way to keep the backlit display on constantly? I have them powered externally. Thx
  9. Thanks for clearing that up fellas!! I sit my SRa in a old Lectro Bec box, attached to a hawkwoods mount, works a treat.
  10. Hi all, Thought i'd use the forum for a quick one. Is the Lectro SR with the unislot (SRUNI) mount fully compatible with the Sony F800? Cheers!
  11. Ah yes, thank you, a good thread. Will be getting one for sure
  12. Is anyone using the new Petrol PS614 lightweight bag? Thoughts?
  13. I am speaking of the two legged variety
  14. Just looked back at my past posts and this title caught my eye. After some recent heartbreak, I have realized just how much I needed a low profile female.
  15. Just installed IPB on my iphone to use with this forum. Is a search function missing or am I blind to it? Thanks!
  16. Something needs to happen, but has anyone had success with plant mics in a situation like this? Surely a last resort only in a quiet space. Wouldnt it just be bubbles?
  17. Would have thought everyone was on (Powerex) rechargeables, such a gods system. good
  18. ... and thanks Eric for the offer of help
  19. The information is obviously easy to source, my query more related to it being conveyed in iPhone app form. I swear I saw this but the guy who I think showed me, knows nothing; must have dreamt it.
  20. Thought I was shown an app that outlined common pin configurations for wiring up audio cables, but now can't find any info. Was I dreaming?
  21. I love my lanc logger (and Ambient), but not keen on the manual ... and the battery door, what's going on there?? Would have to be the hardest door to open ever. Can be very frustrating.
  22. Rich, a pleasure to meet you too! ... and all the other guys and gals i had the chance to say hi to. I felt privileged to be a part, many thanks to everyone involved. I also felt lucky to have made it to the airport on time (thanks frank and warren for the lift), have been managing a hangover, and two rowdy nephews all day here in Portland Hope to meet you all again one day, get in touch if you make it to Oz! 23. Guys, Just made the transfer to Sydney before the final leg to LA. What a response, am overwhelmed! Firstly, the meetup. Am really excited at the prospect of making it! I will be in San Fran by then (although maybe a change of plans given the above advice!) but have no issue catching a flight back down for the event. I even notice there is the Bob Hope airport in Burbank, right next door to the Brewery, not sure what the timetable is like though, will check it out. Michael, just shot you an email for the RSVP. I hope to see you all there! Will let you know if anything changes. Regarding the surfing, that is some awesome advice right there, so glad i mentioned it. Am only really active on this one forum and boy did it deliver I will be doing some thorough investigative work based on every bit of detail you guys have put down. Wasn't really looking forward thumbing a travel guide the whole time. I ride a shortboard, and brought my 3'2 wetsuit over for the trip. The current temp around Monterey seems similar to our current winter, about 13 degrees (55.4). I will have to pick up a board somewhere. I imagine there is a few shops with racks of second hand boards? Speaking of, its time to board ... see you over there! Thank you! Ben Travers
