  1. Now available a Rycote Zepp for the CS-M1, $88.00
  2. A small ( 3-4") swivel base bench vise will do every thing hot holder will do. Just learn how tight to close the jaws so you don't deform the connector.
  3. The longer length antenna is for a lower frequency most likely the Sennheiser "A" block. The shorter antenna looks to be for the Sennheiser "C" block. While they might work to a degree with each other you'll get much better performance if both were for the same block as your TX & RX.
  4. Damn, now you put the hex on them. Thanks for the kind words.
  5. I watched it yesterday and it was very well done. Gordon explained all the FCC rules & regs affecting all wireless users and manufacturers for the next two years (July 2020) when it becomes carved in stone. It should be available on the net soon and users should watch it to get the latest up to date info on how they will be affected by the new changes. Here's the link: http://www.videomantis.com/…/vault-talk-spectrum-re-alloca…/
  6. I'm not sure if the labels on the 3.5mm TRS are for the wires or the solder points. If it's the solder points then they are reversed as the solder tab on the left marked as RING is the TIP solder point on that connector, same goes for the right side tab which is indicated as TIP but is connected to the ring on that connector. After further consideration and study I believe the Ring & Tip indicators show which wire goes where.
  7. Thanks David but I found the exact assembly I was looking for from Gene Martin at Sound Guys Solutions.
  8. Looking to find 760k right angle co-axial power connectors with screw on locking collars for Zaxcom RX units. Either connectors only or molded on 18" to 24" length. Anyone?
  9. Congratulations on a job well done. I'm going to copy your diagram for my wiring cheat sheet.
  10. Everyone's financial situation is different. For most $500 a day all is a non starter for others it in can be a life saver. Desperation often clouds judgement.
  11. Could be the 48v power in what ever the mic is plugged into. The tone bursts are a bit surprising. If you can't recreate the problem then chalk it up to a one time thing.
  12. The CS-M1 is the same overall pattern (super cardioid) as the MKH 50 but a bit narrower which shows up as more useable reach. With it's built in non adjustable frequency response it has a bit less low end than the 50 as it remains fairly flat to 40hz. The CS-M1 also goes down to 40hz but it's about 10db down at that point as it's LF rolloff starts at about 100hz and rolls off 10db in a 60hz slope until 40hz. Quite honestly you'll never miss it for dialog. The rear rejection is superb, if you turn the rear of the CS towards the person speaking it sounds like they left the room. As an FYI, the latest information from Sanken says delivery to U.S. dealers should start at the end of this month (August) or early/mid September.
  13. Thank you for confirming what I have been saying about the CS-M1.
  14. I'm not that familiar with the 2 so I really can't comment. I do know of one mixer who hand been using only the CS3e as his only boom mic for years who retired it after buying a CS-M1 from me and using it. That you will get, about 4-6 ft more useable reach as the CS-M1 has a slightly narrower pattern and gradual LF rolloff starting at about 100hz down to 40hz. There's nothing below 100hz you need for dialog so it's not a concern.
  15. In my opinion you could replace both of the mics you're using now with the CS-M1 and get better overall results. The advantage is that one mic can do the job of two and you won't have to switch mics for interior or exterior. The CS-M1 is not a shotgun, it's a super cardioid much like the Sennheiser MKH 50 but with a longer working distance.
  16. The basic issue is that the mic is not fully available yet as delivery is very slow from Sanken to the distributors to the dealers. I own Production Sound Solutions in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida and the next shipment to the US dealers might be this month (August) but no confirmation. The first few that I had in early June and sold to my customers have resulted in outstanding reviews. I have 12 units presold now on backorder that basically sold themselves by listening to them perform. Best $895 you'll ever spend on a mic.
  17. and they'll want you to return the overage funds from your pocket before their bad check bounces.
  18. Means ground the unused connection. Ground the Tip for line level feed, ground the Ring for mic level feed.
  19. Yes that's the correct way to feed a line level signal to a G2/3. If you run into any sound issues then connect pin 3 to the sleeve also to make an unbalanced input to the transmitter.
  20. I can make you those adapters. Call me: 954-289-4770
  21. TRS stands for Tip, Ring, Sleeve. Same connector that's used on your head phones. the Tip is the positive or the left channel on HP's. the Ring is the negative or the Right channel on HP's and the sleeve is the common ground for both channels. TRS microphone input connectors do not supply 48v phantom power for microphones that need it to work properly.
  22. 250GBP is about $330 usd. It's kind of difficult to recommend anything at that price point. The Sennheiser 416 sells for $1000 here.
  23. There are many 48vp to lav power adapters available now for people who want to plug in lavs to cameras with only 48vp power available. All that is needed is an XLRF to whatever tx input cable. It does make the tx package somewhat more cumbersome though.
  24. "Audio Limited to Offer Recording Feature on U.S. A10-TX Wireless Transmitters WATFORD, U.K., 2 JULY, 2018 – Audio Ltd. announces the introduction of a powerful new recording feature for A10-TX Digital Wireless transmitters sold in the U.S. market. Available on 9 July, 2018, firmware revision 2.0 brings built-in recording from balanced microphone and line-level inputs to the A10-TX. “The built-in recorder and timecode generator in the A10 transmitter have been great tools for our users. Up until now U.S. customers have not been able to take advantage of these features,” says Kishore Patel, managing director of Audio Ltd. He adds, “Version 2.0 brings recording to U.S. market A10-TX transmitters for boom microphones and other balanced microphone and line-level sources. In these applications, the A10 is not worn by the actor or presenter.” Audio Ltd A10-TX Transmitter with A-Boom accessory A10-TX Digital Wireless Transmitter with A-BOOM accessory The A10 Digital Wireless System includes two components, the A10-TX transmitter and A10-RX two-channel receiver. The A10 U.S. system operates in UHF frequencies, from 470 to 608 MHz (470 to 694 MHz internationally). Up to 15 systems can operate simultaneously in a U.S. television channel. The system is fully digital– microphone signals are converted to digital at the transmitter and remain digital all the way through to the receiver’s output. A digital system offers superb full-bandwidth, full-dynamic-range audio without the audible artifacts associated with analog RF links. The A10-TX transmitter offers a universal audio input accepting two-wire lavalier microphones, balanced microphones (selectable 12V or 48V phantom power), and balanced line-level signals. It includes an integrated digital recorder with a precision timecode generator (recording not available with lavalier microphones in U.S. market transmitters). An internal microSD card in the transmitter stores audio data in proprietary .mic format. The free Mic-to-WAV utility for Mac OS and Windows converts .mic files into industry-standard broadcast WAV files with timecode. More information on new features with 2.0 firmware, such as frequency scanning with the Sound Devices 688 mixer/recorder and SL-6 powering and wireless accessory will be available on 9 July, 2018."
  25. If the cap you use on the B6 is never changed then a dab of clear nail polish around the perimeter of the cap when it's in place will keep it there forever.
