About Darrell Henke

  • Birthday 01/01/1
  1. I worked with him on the new show and mixed his final scene the Friday night before Thanksgiving. In person he was the anti-JR, super nice. He never complained and was very happy to be back working with his friends Patrick and Linda. It was a shock to all of us but not him. At his memorial this weekend his daughter said he had summoned his family to Dallas for Thanksgiving and had the visit planed for a while. She wanted to postpone the meeting until Christmas and Larry told her that wasn't going to happen. He knew something. His last scene was in a restroom saying his lines to another actor with his evil JR look while straightening his hat in the mirror (we had asked him not to straighten his tie because of the mic). The last take he did he completed his lines, paused a second, then smiled and said to himself in the mirror "I love you Larry" we laughed and cut camera. We love you too Larry. Darrell
  2. I put heat shrink on all my mics form the vents to the connector. It helps protect them. DH
  3. It's faster to type than speak, wait, wait, and then correct the text. Till six Camray = tail sticks camera a See what I mean D
  4. I bought one and the 4 bang charger. I sent the charger back because it will not charge my IDX batteries. I kept the np1 but it is hard to remove from my Deva, so I only buy IDX now. Darrell
  5. I have only lost information when I don't close the project before I shut down the app or power down. Darrell
  6. Kramer makes video equipment. The unit I have is analog with Phoenix connectors. It is small and lightweight. The 12v connector is the standard coaxial 2.1mm. DH
  7. I use a 1200 pelican box with 2 12 amp hour gel cells in parallel for 24 A/H with a Guest 10 amp charger across them all the time. I can pull the AC power with no problem. I also have some 33 A/H 1300 pelicans as well for when I do not have power. I replace the 12 A/H batts about once a year. Darrell Darrell
  8. I am getting a Kramer delay that production is buying for me. It is pretty small, balanced in and out, and runs on 12volts. Darrell
  9. The video operator called 2 mixers that he worked with at Warner Bros. with the Boxx. They used powered shark fins and had no problems. A friend of mine says Boxx is not FCC accepted or legal, and it could be inter-mod because are two cameras. I might have him bring his spectrum analyzer out and see what's up, but he's not cheap. I am on block 20. Darrell
  10. I have the CMC with the MK 41 head, the CMIT might be a little better. I do not have a HM. It seems to be proximity related but it is so intermittent it is hard to say. The noise is just a tick now and then not a big thud like a walkie blast. It's hard to hear unless it is quiet.
  11. This is the first season with the Meridan Boxx HD link. I am getting very intermittent pops that sound like static in my wireless boom. I have tried a SMQV and SMa. I use a SD MP-1 mic pre, and CMIT, or CMC 6u/ MK 41 mics. Has anyone else had this problem? I do use the Neutrik RF connectors. I'm thinking of trying a butt plug on the mic end of the pole to get away from the cameras as a last resort. Darrell
  12. I have only used SRW. It takes some experimenting to get the report fields in the order you want them, but you can put them in any order you want. I find it fast and easy to make corrections with it if needed. I do not use any time code functions on my reports. I use it with a Deva and I can compare segments to scene numbers easily. Post likes it. Darrell
  13. The MAHA is 2400ma as far as I can tell. I went for the extra 100 it was production's $ anyway. DH
  14. I have a few 2700 Powerex with no fires, but I don't like keeping up with charging them. Are they Hottie or Naughty? I just started using Endloop 2500 batts for slates, my TC generator, and boom transmitters. I have used them in Lectro transmitters on reality shows and I just time them for change out every 3.5 hours for safety. They are supposed to last 4 hours. I plan to go back to Lithiums on episodic except for day players in short scenes. It's a pretty big investment, but I got production to by 48 batteries and 3 8 slot chargers. Darrell
