  1. I too wondered about the generic AU interface in Peak. Standard GUI much preferred. Tip works great after a computer restart. Thank you Denis. Jon K. Oh
  2. Ordered a padded TC cable from the link Tom provided. Came in a few days. Works. 3rd Gen Itouch with Clockit Timecode App. Used to establish TC output frame rate as per Phillip P's post. Verifying output of SB3 in 552 use. Thanks much Tom and Phillip. Jon K. Oh Add'l note: I double checked my BNC end as another post warned of defects even in a replacement.
  3. Thanks Jay. am further advised. Jon K. Oh
  4. Hi Jay, Yes, the reverb seems reduced but the "gating" effect sounds somewhat unnatural i.e the words at times sound "squeezed". I wonder if this 'by product" is objectionable to others. Thanks Jay for your follow through and lending your expertise to the discussion. I'm on the fence about this product hoping to decide before the price goes up. Jon K. Oh
  5. The Epic shoot I did recently was straight 24. Everything i.e. SB3, SBT, cameras, slate, recorder, ran on 24. Jon K. Oh
  6. Bit the bullet. Bought the LB. Use it occasionally. Good buy. Smarts went into this device. BL (bottom line) comes in handy like a dandy when I need it. Jon K. Oh
  7. Just want to add: Try to test. In my experience I needed to record at least 128kb before LTC TC bleed into the audio track disappeared. Jon Oh
  8. Hi Jim, Yes I'm referring to the TC bleed through buzz that can be heard on the dialogue track when LTC TC is recorded on an adjacent channel. To all: I did a quick/dirty test using my 744T as an MP3 recorder. Recording TC on channel 2. Dialogue on channel 1. [in actual practice I take a feed from the cam TC BNC out. Split the feed via a line level splitter. Left side of TC feed has an inline pad. This side (XLR) goes into the 744T mic level. Right side (unpadded) goes into the 744T TC in (Lemo).] to facilitate 744t front panel LED monitoring. Test A. 96kb had obvious TC artifacts tho the dialogue was IMO clearly understandable just somewhat "robotized". Note: people with accents could be more difficult to understand. Test B at 128kb. No discernable TC bleed on the dialogue channel. [Waveform files were played back/examined. on computer. Professional monitoring speakers.] Note 1: TC bleed could not be heard when listening to the dialogue channel while recording. It is only after playing back the file does one hear the bleed. Note 2: The source of the test timecode was the XLR TC out of a Pro Tools audio interface. Note 3: I find it best to minimize/omit the TC buzz if possible b/c once a transcription house claimed they had extreme difficulty understanding the dialogue (thereby wanting to charge more). All files were then sent to a second house who had no problem. Comments welcome. Jon
  9. At 96kb MP3 there may be crosstalk TC buzzing on the dialogue channel of the outputted transcription file. At 128kb the buzzing should be gone. Jon Oh

    Sony PMW-F3

Hi Matt, 744T had it's own AC cable separate from the F3. (Cam menu said 23.98. 744T mini TC indicator blinked at 23.97. Steady at 29.97 ND. ) Sorry didn't check the SDI output. Unawares. Thanks for your analysis. Jon

    Sony PMW-F3

Hi to group, Shooting with the Sony PMW-F3. Audio: snake to cam, 744T for MP3 TC transcription, 442 w non tc bu. Advice on these issues much needed/appreciated: 1. F3 TC says 23.98 yet 744t (TC hardwire) only syncs to 29.97 ND. 2. Many more MP3 files are created then the # of times the F3 triggers auto record. Hard wire TC. Audio on files appear to be continuous. 3. AC buzz on F3 betasnake cam retn as monitored through 442, when 744T is plugged into AC. Happened once in 5 days of pwring 744T w AC. Tried 2 different snakes. No rtn buzz when on 744t battery. Buzz was not recorded on camera cards (cam hdphone monitor clean) but puzzled as to why this would happen at only one location. Camera on AC always. 744T on AC b/c intws were hours each. Thanks, Jon K. Oh
  12. Hi, Thanks to Bruce at Lectrosonics who went out of his way to help me at my clients booths when I had a wireless problem in addition to a "key" presenter mic failure (i.e. the mic died). Also thanks to Location Sound who quickly pitched in. The show went on to great success. Thanks again, Jon Oh
  13. Done and thanks Jeff. Jon K. Oh
