  1. "Even when I turned the volume down all the way on the track we didn't want, his powerful voice was bleeding through the console and onto the master" Ah...really? Result of "his powerful voice"?
  2. Yah..can't imagine a visible angle
  3. Hmm..interesting..bet many reading here read ":$71.80 hour which is $789.80 for 10 hours. Don't spend it all in one place." with a raised eyebrow. I mean..categorically: "commercials"? Please explain.
  4. Le bottom line: "$100 to $200 per day depending on the day. You will have to have your own gear and cables." Lost in translation?
  5. Wait...it's a stealth but (in future) viral RV campaign: "To Hell and back"
  6. It's about the "vision" and the "passion"...and pushing the envelope..into the trash.
  7. BTW, what do you mean by handheld camera? Having done both, a reasonably balanced, albeit "heavy" cam on a shoulder is no comparison to typical booming. I would bet $$ I was insensitive to the issue in past. And while a jostle of cam or reframe can be "decidedly" covered with a cutaway in post, sound is just assumed to be there and on target. Jim, my understanding is that the curcumin portion of turmeric is the most beneficial in terms of inflammation etc. There are supplements that isolate and concentrate curcumin such that you might be able to get relief from a once a day dose. A number of other potential benefits from that too.

  9. Anyone tried? http://www.telefunken-elektroakustik.com/press/press-release.php?link=tfunk-thp-29-headphones
  10. To prove this point, look (or listen) no further than radio...
  11. Latest Full Compass print-o-log has entry for : TASCAM DR-60DMKII "The new version includes an improved microphone preamp for up to 64dB of gain and a smoother sound."
  12. Hmm...no input on the 22, 4trk only using onboard mics in 44... Quality as is may be fine..but input options below competition, methinks. Take it away Senator..
  13. I get your point, Larry....from a strictly technical perspective. But it seems natural to include that info. And..I am curious about Jason's preference for mic level based on how he feels it sounds. Any thoughts on that? Perhaps there are impedance issues etc that might come into play depending on gear in the signal chain.
  14. "The 633’s High-pass Filter circuit is unique because of its placement before any electronic amplification." Is this true in any other SD mixers? 442?
  15. FYI, Juiced Link claims more DARs in development. Maybe one to fit this niche will surface.
  16. I'm with you , Bruce. With SD's pedigree in audio for video field recording, always wondered where they figured the digi outs were destined for. Sometimes cameras have those inputs..but not common. Many have used it to supplement their Tascam 680's SPDIF in etc. but was that the intention? "holding your breath until Sound Devices guts the fully capable 633 recorder and build the 1% of its capabilities into a small box just for you, seems a little bit ridiculous." Maybe.. but the MixPre-d preceded the 633. And there are other sources(mixers, preamps) that had (at time of release) or have digital outs that could be recordable to a reasonably flexible no-computer "bit bucket"
  17. http://vimeo.com/106276551 It's pennies for this one..lotsa lotsa pennies: http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/1082939-REG/leica_10804_leica_s_medium_format.html
  18. Mr. Studio/Senator, Sure..but no harm alerting prospective customers eh? Would you prefer these discussions to be private?
  19. $50/mo? That's one helluva subsidy.
  20. Interesting..reminiscent of the "raw" vs baked n approach on the visual side.
  21. Various live music clubs in LA have (unfortunately) been charging bands to play for decades. I guess they have decided to treat the halftime show equivalent to an extended commercial slot. Will be interesting to see if the acts (more conspicuously) work that angle themselves.
