  1. According to this: http://www.pacificda...sp?prod=CT-600F Looks like you'll need one of these: http://www.pacificda...rod=MT-2ST-F50B I would contact TEAC to find out about OS and driver requirements. Good luck! Update: If you have an old PC laying around(must have SCSI interface), running Win95, 98 or NT, it appears there's a free file compression software (BorkBack 1.6) that allows you to interface with the card, without the need of driver(s) for the SCSI drive. http://www.softpedia.com/get/Compression-tools/BorkBack.shtml
  2. Inputs 1 and 2 are 1/8th inch and on the front of the camera body. To record to inputs 3 and 4, the pro I/O module is required. It gives you inputs 3 and 4 on XLR connections, plus you can record up to 4 channels of AES via 7-pin lemo(red fanout cable required).
  3. I've experienced the same issue. It's best to power mixer/recorder and wireless from separate sources. I now use np1 + BDS for sra's and G3's, then a separate np1 straight to 788. No issues after that.
  4. Glad my gig in NY was last week! (fishing off the coast in Montauk)
  5. I was on a shoot last week with Ray Villafane. Talk about some serious pumpkin carving skills..
  6. PR4500 ENG is available at the following suggested retail prices: PR4500 ENG Pocket Receiver, US$ 859; PR4500 ENG Set/HT with HT4500 Transmitter and D5 capsule, US$ 1199; PR4500 ENG Set/PT with PT4500 Transmitter, US$ 1249.
  7. Piriform also makes a free recovery program called Recuva. I've used it a few times with success.
  8. Were the drives configured in a RAID array?
  9. 5VDC from Zoom's website. http://www.radioshac...oductId=2062599 http://www.radioshack.com/product/index.jsp?productId=2102598
  10. " A pair of associate professors and a graduate student from Cornell University, however, have developed a method for synthesizing the sound of moving fabrics -- such as rustling clothes -- for use in animations, and thus, potentially film."
  11. Lectro blocks 20 through 26 should work fine. You can rent UCR411's from many different places. Frequency scans are your friend.
  12. An $800 near silent fan? Someone is making a killing off these!
  13. +1 It's my favorite mic I own, considering value and results.
  14. Producers have asked me to send them a hard drive for a small file, when it's easily emailable. Sometimes they understand how easy it is to do things. Sometimes they insist on doing things the hard way. Feels good when things are easy.
  15. Every now and then, a princess farts and it smells like flowers. MMMMM flowers...
  16. Ended up using a wav file header repair utility. It cleaned it up enough to where I could open it up with VLC and then export it uncompressed from there.
  17. Pindrop, I've used both Gold Wave and Audacity to open the file. It's 1.5 hours long, mono track, recorded in 24/48 on the 788. In both programs, it shows about an hour and 15 minutes of noise, then the remaining 15 mins are clear. (using little endian) If I import using big endian, the entire file is there, but it's very noisy and unusable.
  18. Awesome Take! I wish there was a universal program like this that worked with any file type. I'm actually dealing with some corrupted wav files recorded on a 788. I'm looking into using a binary editor to copy a header from a good file, then replace the bad file header. Trouble is, I'm very much out of my element when it comes to this. Anyone ever do something like this before?
  19. From a quick look at the manual: Be aware, the Nomad’s timecode clock continues to run, with reduced accuracy, after the power is turned ‘OFF’. I suppose the TC generator would continue to run(with slightly reduced accuracy). I think it would be fine for a battery change.
  20. The zipper could be of higher quality, mine tend to skip teeth around the corners. But pretty good case overall.
