  1. You should def try Supertone Clear. Supertone Clear It's the best "CHEAP" no nonsense plugin I've heard so far. Izotope is bloated I think. The other option is the plugin Hush Hush | AI-powered tools for dialogue repair (hushaudioapp.com) Which honestly I've never tried, but the demos sound AMAZING.
  2. They don't make them look like this!?
  3. Yeah you read that right. The part of the mixer bag hooks on the EasyRig made me revisist an idea I sent to K-tek (even EasyRig actually..hmmm) a decade ago where the general idea was a rigid waist belt with some way to hang the bag on, instead of having to clip carabiners or whatever. The idea came from me having a child that refused to be carried in any other way than on the stomach, like a Babybjörn, and I really enjoyed the satisfying feeling of attaching those hooks, so I kinda wished those hooks were on sound equipment, but I guess those hooks are super patented. Anyway, waist belts work better for me, I'm tall (6.4 feet) and skinny, so no harness has ever suited me. Small bag or not, I've always preferred having a girdle like thing on my waist to hold the bag. I can see a product from any company with this idea for a waist belt: sturdy, nice supporting belt with just that very simple hook design, the bag itself doesn't really need securing unless you know you're gonna be running frantically all day. Maybe EasyRig can create a harness that you could actually take apart, so one part is the actual boom rig and the other is the belt with the hooks. I dunno... I can dream. And most of the times I think that people using that EasyRig contraption will be taking it on and off depending on space issues. And if you're on a scripted shoot you'd have a dedicated boom operator who wouldn't also carry the bag while booming... On reality shows, sure, you could be booming and mixing, but not likely all day with an easyrig. Not even camera operators use an EasyRig for every single shot. It depends. Hah.
  4. Possible de-rail but also, I think, interesting: which one is more explosive? Fuel or battery powered generators?
  5. I just liked the way the mixer bag hung off of the hooks. Imagine a thick belt or girdle you wear around your hips, and you'd hang the bag on that instead of having straps over your shoulders, so no harness per se. I don't know if it'd actually work but it seems like a nice solution. I think I'd buy it
  6. I mean, for longer scenes outdoors or large interiors this is great. I was even more excited by that mixer holder, I wish they'd release just that part like a belt where you just hang the mixer. Great stuff. Proud swede. Great accent
  7. You know it might actually be just a coincidence... I've done that too on occasion when my foremost arm is tired that I just very briefly hold the boom with the back hand and let my foremost hand down, shake it a bit and then up again. I can do that maybe for a second, not more, of course. But it looks cool in that brief second...
  8. I've had some luck with Nite Ize Gear Ties. I like the fact that you can lock those, so the cable doesn't untie itself which almost always happens when you don't want it to. I've dreamed of taking my vacuum cleaner's cable winch out and putting it on my bag.. but.. weight and noise.
  9. Well, yeah. But every country has a freak food, sort of. Sweden's got one too, Surströmming, which is basically the same as rakfisk; fermented fish. Anyways, lunches in Norway are generally sandwiches. YMMV. I hope you get real food and that I'm wrong. We Swedes and Norwegians tend to tease eachother. It's all friendly and we're both stupid. About cold: In my experience, cold weather is harder on you than your equipment. I've never had an electronic device die from cold. On the other hand: booms and their collars, cables, tape, PEOPLE get cold and grumpy and hard to work with, so just brace yourself. Layer your clothing. And you can't overdress. I'm serious. For cold winds, the only real thing that works is newspaper under your jacket. Old school but works.
  10. Food in Norway can be upsetting. Just saying.
  11. But it's a weird crossover. Is it a podcast or a TV show? Do they want to be able to act as both? Hm
  12. Hi! My daughter is trying to get into music school, and she was tasked with bringing a karaoke version of a song to perform with. There was none to be found, so I tried Croonify. Worked pretty much flawlessly, even though the song is in Swedish. Tempo with the lyrics were a bit off but that's moot anyway since she won't be looking at that. VERY COOL! We were all in total awe in the family when the video was done. Very surprised to see the Like counter was at like 60 something!? This is an awesome thing.
  13. OK but here's a weird one. This is actually a TV show that use LDCs for its primary sound, so it's basically a good looking video podcast, with actual camera operators and such, not like a Joe Rogan type deal. It's a Swedish show. I just think it's weird that they choose to have the mics like that. It's almost uncanny valley. I mean I like the sound of it, it sounds great, but there's a big disconnect with what I'm used to seeing as a TV viewer.
  14. But what about EVERY SINGLE LATE NIGHT SHOW (excuse me, not every single one obviously, but very many) with an LDC mic just sitting on a desk like it's doing something!? Maybe I'm just ignorant, maybe they're there for some reason, but I can't see what that would be other than aesthetics.
  15. Hey, in a sense it already is. Even if you're the one telling the AI to do the work.
  16. But when a friend is German you really need to have all your ducks in a row! 🤪 Joking aside, yeah the lav is showing. Feels good to know that even on high stakes shows, these little “mistakes” come up.
  17. Sad to hear it doesn't work well in Reaper. The Goyo worked perfectly, I haven't paid for Clear yet but then it sounds like maybe I should wait...
  18. Great video! And sorry to hijack the thread, BUT: As a swede, I feel I have to mention this is in fact in danish (which to be honest is veeery similar to swedish, but I couldn't stand thinking people thought this was swedish, and I would imagine if any danes saw this they'd be equally aghast)
  19. Swedish radio is using Glensound for our "OB-backpacks" (essentially a giant cellphone with a Glensound MINI CUB-preamp for the mic and return signal). Sounds fine.
  20. I know, it’s a synth, right. But man… the sounds in this are just unbelievable. For sort of synth nerds: it’s basically a two sine wave oscillator synth, with sort of FM and feedback shenanigans.
  21. Well, anywhere on the body of a soccer player is potentially a bad spot to put a transmitter. I think the "safest" place would be high up on the inside of the thighs or possibly in the armpit. But, uncomfortable, sure. I mean players regularly take the ball on the chest, they take hits on the back, hits everywhere since no part of the body (except front calves? shins?) is protected by anything. In American Football (as we Europeans say) or Ice Hockey you could stow away a tx under the protective gear, but in soccer it's just.. well, no such thing. Taking a ball with the chest, where a transmitter would be, sounds hurtful. So does taking a fall in high speed with the TX on the back.. Thighs or armpits, I'd say is where it'd be least prone to potential damage or be the least uncomfortable. But it'd still be uncomfortable.
  22. I worked on a show recently where the director really did care about the actors and their delivery of lines, not just the camera, which is a rare thing over here. They usually just read the lines exactly and no one cares. This director didn’t exactly do what yours did, but sort of; she would really listen if we said “we need another take” or if the floor was creaking, she’d really make sure to either change the blocking or that we get clean lines in other ways, like taking the time to put out mats and so on. Very nice to actually have the head of everything on your team. My experience is mostly that you as the sound team are the only ones to actually care about the actors delivery and performance, the actual playing so to speak… the directors are more focused on pleasing camera and props dept, and forgetting a bit about the actors.
  23. Nevermind this mic, I want the 15 year delay pedal they keep hidden away somewhere or perhaps: better late than never
