  1. Go to the History tab. View the shot that was logged just before the missing shot. Tap the slate icon (upper right corner; to left of the search box). Choose "Clone this Shot" from the menu that appears. Edit any fields which changed in the new shot.
  2. Most recorders from Zaxcom and Sound Devices can already export logs as CSV files-- which can be imported into MovieSlate. MovieSlate can then be used to generate the sound reports for those logs.
  3. @Simon: Apple has approved the new version of MovieSlate that contains a fix for this issue, and you can download the new version from the App Store.
  4. Simon, you were correct. Over the weekend, we found and fixed the issue-- which was indeed a bug that crept into the latest TCBuddy Library that MovieSlate uses to sync with the TCB Master. The bug only affected 29.97 DF. We've just submitted an update with the fix to the App Store. It could take a week or so for the new version to be reviewed, approved, and released. Thanks again for reporting this.
  5. Hi Simon, I've not heard of this before. Have you tried powering off the iPad and then back on again? If that does not work, then please use MovieSlate's "contact us" feature (or the contact us form on our website) to get one-on-one support with one of our guys. Thanks. --Cliff
  6. Truth is: we don't actually know the exact release dates of products from our collaborators. You might have better luck asking Timecode Systems (for Timecode Buddy mini TRX product), and Denecke (for the TS4 slate). I do know that the MovieSlate software will be ready when those hardware products are released.
  7. The mini trx indeed has genlock. Not sure about the rx; I will ask.
  8. Actually, there were two Denecke TS4 prototypes at the booth, and we kept swapping them from table to table. The MovieSlate you see was synced to a Denecke on the other side of the booth which you don't see.
  9. Geordi's workaround should work well. In fact, it seems similar to a solution we've described in an FAQ on our website: http://www.movie-slate.com/FAQs/10380
  10. Thanks for the vote, Marc. We've had many requests for this feature, and would like to provide it. However, it simply isn't possible from the app at this point. So we're developing a cloud service to process the HTML reports into PDFs.
  11. Thanks for reporting this! Indeed you have discovered a bug; which we will fix in the next update. Not at this time (for technical reasons). However, we’re working a cloud service that will create the PDFs. Not sure why you’re experiencing slowness in Safari (it is very fast for us; on a Mac). MovieSlate’s Sound Reports were written for Safari and Firefox. My recollection is that Chrome and Internet Explorer do not have support for some of the "standard" HTML/CSS features we’re using to create the fill down graphics. Yes, MovieSlate works just fine on the iPad mini. Thanks for the additional info-- your clue helped me quickly find and fix the issue. The fix will be in the next update. Meanwhile, sorry for the hassle.
  12. Yes, our friends at Timecode Systems in the UK (makers of Timecode Buddy) tell us that MovieSlate is widely used there. Understood. You can easily configure MovieSlate to work in the UK style. First, go to MovieSlate’s Settings > Slate Behavior > Clapper Behavior > When Shots End - and checkmark the "Increment Slate Number" and "Increment Take Number". Next, go to MovieSlate’s Settings > Field Input Styles > Slate - and set the SLATE to "Keypad (123)" and TAKE to "Keypad (123)". Yes, the labels are indeed customizable. From the Sound Dept or MovieSlate screens, you can just tap on any label and change its text. Or you can manage all your labels from MovieSlate’s Settings > Data Labels screen. Indeed. You can set all the auto-incrementing fields from MovieSlate’s Settings > Slate Behavior > Clapper Behavior > When Shots End. As Rich pointed out, you can also increment many numeric fields by swiping your finger up/down on the field. And of course you can always just tap the field and enter a new value. The other advantage is that in the sound report, you could have the slate column and the take column next to each other, which I'd prefer, since we identify shots by slate & take #.
  13. Our apologies. The site indeed went down over the weekend, and is back up this morning.
  14. Thanks! I think you'll really enjoy the TCBuddy/MovieSlate setup. It works quite well. This may require a back-and-forth conversation to resolve. Please send us a message from our website’s Contact Us form, and we'll get you going again. MovieSlate currently uses an LTC engine called TCode, which is very finicky about attenuation, and has trouble discerning certain frame rates. So, yes you may need to experiment with cables that use slightly different attenuation. We’ve been collaborating with Denecke, developing a new LTC engine, which will replace the TCode engine later this summer (a free upgrade to the Timecode Sync plugin). The Denecke engine works at much lower line levels, and is therefore not so finicky about attenuation. The Denecke engine also provides much greater accuracy of timecode (less than a frame delta); and super accurate frame rates (so we can retire the "check frame rates" warnings).
