  1. Awesome. Thanks guys. Think Ill give the Cable Techniques ones a try.
  2. Looking to make some custom cables to use with my new Sound Devices MixPre-6 and would like to use some low profile XLR connectors. There seems to be two on the market but the pricing difference between the two is substantial. So I thought I'd ask around here and see if anyone out there has experience working with both and can comment on the differences. There is the Cable Techniques option, which retails for about $15/connector: LINK And the Remote Audio option, which retails for about $25/connector: LINK Both have options for color coded caps (though the Remote Audio colored caps are more expensive) and both require a thinner cable to be used for which I was planning to go with Mogami W2697 miniature microphone cable (LINK). Anyone tried both of these and can comment on whether or not the Remote Audio connectors are worth the higher cost? I am planning to purchase 4-8 of these in male and female configuration so if the Cable Techniques are the same quality or better it would save me quite a bit of coin to go with them.
  3. Just wanted to post back, seems like this charger and cable power the MixPre-6 perfectly: https://www.amazon.com/Anker-Delivery-Charger-PowerPort-Samsung/dp/B06Y427WT7 https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B071XYBPMN
  4. Whats everyone using for and AC power supply? Surely there is some option that's cheaper than the MX-Charge. Im wondering if anyone has tried this combo: https://www.amazon.com/Anker-Delivery-Charger-PowerPort-Samsung/dp/B06Y427WT7 https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B071XYBPMN Same price as the MX-Charge but is a bit more universal.
  5. Where does one buy to take advantage of the Introductory Price?
  6. 416 is what I was going to suggest as well. Thats what I pair with the 50.
  7. They def arent rattle free, but they arent super prone to making noise either. I love the two I have however K-Tek really does need to invest the money into ading the anti-rotation feature into their CF tube collars like most CF tripod legs have. That would eliminate most of these coiled cable tangle issues people end up getting.
  8. Def looks like the product many of us were waiting for! Probably going to be a lot of kinks to workout firmware wise as there aways seems to be with new devices in this market, but after all thats past Im sure this will be another solid product from SD.
  9. Ha, okay finally placed the order for the rest of the stuff I need to make this cable! Ill post back when its all here and Ive had a chance to put one together.
  10. Thanks! Also found it and a bunch more stuff I was looking for at markertek.com.
  11. Bumping this thread. Where does one get this Canare L-2E5 cable from?
  12. I actually JUST got the Anderson connectors and the terminals and the Anderson crimping tool delivered not too long ago. So short of picking the "perfect" wire to use, I have everything I need to finally make this cable except for the HiRose connector. Im putting together an order in the best few days to Digikey so Ill add a couple of the HiRose connectors on there as well and post back when I have that in stock and get a chance to put it all together.
  13. Ha! That movie is awesome!
  14. HA HA HA!!! Great stuff here! Okay, well they were new to me, didnt realize they had been out a while. Sorry folks, nothing new to see here.
