  1. Yes, but I don't sure if all the zaxcom products works at this low rate (With limited bandwidth), or only the wireless systems and ZFR recorders (with his 16kHz limit). I can't see nothing about on the Nomad manual.
  2. No, isn't my interface (The Nomad can't do that). The Nomad is for "all at the same time" recordings. For tracking is better a computer. The recorder that would act as pc interface is the new R88 from Roland.
  3. No (Always are a controlled situations and I have a good gain adjust), but I'm trying (Live events)
  4. My main work is recording music. Focusrite is a "NO NO" card, bad drivers and fair sound. The SD USBPre is very nice, as well Apogee Duet II (Only Mac) I'm happy with the Nomad for music recording IMMO LDC (Large Diameter Condensers) only for very quiet sources, usually much better fidelity with a SDC such as Shoeps, DPA or Earthworks. Better the blue line than the 416 for a guitar. Good luck and enjoy
  5. +1 (which the Nomad wasn't intended for, I know) I like this phrase, when I bought my Nomad I thought that I was buying an audio recorder.
  6. Dynaudio BM15A or BM6A (Mk I), and the right acoustics (of course)
  7. +1 But the QTC series Or DPA 4006 (The 4060 0r 4099 are great but for live sound) Pair of DPA 4006 on AB A "Earthworks only" recording. Two QTC40 on Jecklin + 3 TC30 on fiddle, flute, pipe, and two SR25 on bouzouki and guitar (All spots time aligned) Riobó – Marreco
  8. My link is the maker of these capsules, probably your link have a typo. Aeta 4Minx can decode a SPS200 (Type A) on the fly (Page 59), and is on "to do" list of the Nomad A to B: http://pcfarina.eng.unipr.it/Public/B-format/A2B-conversion/A2B.htm Free plugin: http://www.radio.uqam.ca/ambisonic/b2x.html
  9. The TSB140 is a cardioid capsule http://www.transsound.net/electrets/tsb-140a.htm Usually the quad-mic capsules are cardioid, but sub-cardioid would be a good idea
  10. The SPS200 are a superb microphone, isn't the quietest, but is very good for a SDC (I prefer a little noise before using an LDC). The SPS200 is very small (Any regular blimp is ok). This is a comparison between the SPS200 against the DPA-4 (4x DPA 4011 capsules) https://soundcloud.com/suso-ramallo/mic-a https://soundcloud.com/suso-ramallo/mic-b A Soundfield B DPA-4
  11. Hello Nakul, Good effort, but no big difference between the TSB 140A and the TSB 120A, 27dBA of equivalent noise both and the same output (+/-1mV). Good luck with your own capsule.
  12. IMMO another contender are the AKG SE300 + CK94, are a very decent 8 capsule (single membrane fig 8, noisier than the ATE 208 (on papers) but better freq response.
  13. The A format is easily converted to B (And with the Harpex you can do anything), except the W that is not great due the capsule separation (In comparison with a real Omni on a ambisonic B array)
  14. Nice proposal, we'll have to see how it works.
  15. No (was done by a very good friend mine), I assisted at the mixes (and some recording days) http://www.imdb.com/name/nm1051797/
  16. The preamps are nice, better than the R4 No subtitles (at the moment), http://www.imdb.com/title/tt2404738/, very funny (Mixed in Atmos)
  17. R88 recorded film (Witches film :-D) (Trailer)
  18. The Soundfield monitoring is in the "do list" of the Zaxcom Nomad, unfortunately only for the 12 http://www.zaxcom.com/nomad-comparison-chart
  19. Is very easy hack the LPX for work with Lion, http://youtu.be/Kf6KXVH-OO4
  20. I always carry a loudspeaker and I take an impulse of the room with a equalized sweep (Equalized for a flat response of my loudspeaker), usually I use a pair of omnis on diferent positions (I do a photo of the different positions), or sometimes I use a Soundfield SPS200. Principally I use the Waves IR1, and usually I do a full stereo IR (L+R on two mics) or multichannel
  21. I hope NOT :-) (Work time) I prefer my holidays on more quiet months, such as September or October
  22. The best is rent a DPA 4006TL, I love the Decca Three, you need 3 of them, other nice mic is the new Neumann KK133 capsule with a digital or analog body. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Decca_tree You can use the NT5 as spot mics for soloists or sections of the orchestra or choir
