  1. I switched to 4 channels of Shure ADX5D with AD1 TX's. If you don't need remote control of your TX's its is the least expensive to an all digital system. AD1 TX's are under $1000. Also, the Axient system has been the best most solid wireless performance I have experienced. I have owned all other brands at some point in my career. Sound great Solid RF performance on whips Great battery life even with Alkaline batteries Menu screen on ADX5D is large and easy to read and navigate You don't have to set gain on TX Only down side if any is TX's are bigger but since I don't do narrative not an issue so far.
  2. A Mixpre 6 Mk III with 4 ch digital input. Faders, gain and pan pots like a 633. Output section like the mix-pre D. Only need two XLR Mic/Line/AES inputs to keep the size down.
  3. It would be nice if Lectro would make a DSQD the size of two 822 with ta5 outs and sma for antenna.
  4. I would set the input gain on camera to 5 and then send more gain from your MP to camera.
  5. My CS-M1 works fine with Lectrosonics HMA plug-on
  6. Maybe for some, but its lite and a clean setup which I like, compared to something like two SR with an antenna distribution set up or Sl-2
  7. If you don’t need antenna distribution then the 822 is probably the better choice. I personally have never seen a mixer bag with two or more SRC without antenna distribution. But I think the value and future proof way to go is a DSQD
  8. I would recommend you get a DSQD it’s 4 channels digital or hybrid with Dante or AES and built in antenna distribution. 2 - SRC Kits with adapters, cables, antenna distribution or SL-2 5k- 8K depending on what you get. Also, only one band A1 or B1 2- 822 7k plus antenna distro and cable cost 1- DSQD about 5k it’s not as small as two 822 but probably the same size as 2 SRC with an SL-2 and SL-2 is not a stand alone unit.
  9. Did you figure out what the issue was? I would think you were on the same frequency but different block on the transmitters that what the block on the SRA was.
  10. I usually send +10 or hotter from my mixpre 6 to an FS7 in at line level, never had a complaint from cam op or post about the sound quality. One thing I have come across is the headphone out from the cameras can sound harsh if they are monitoring in mono, have cheap headphones.
  11. My audio kit was stolen from my car at Fisherman’s Wharf on December 21st. Gear Stolen Mixpre 6 II SRC x2 Lmb x2 MixPre D Denecke Jb-1 Sony Headphones Orca 270 and an Orca Backpack Audio Root batteries and BDS various cables I Filed a police report and have SN numbers for the Sound Devices and Lectrosonics
  12. I used it as a plant mic in a car visor. It sounds great! Maybe paring it with the new tentacle recorder would work since you don’t have to worry to much about levels with 32 bit. Also. The rycote windjammer makes noise if you move the mic too much.
  13. Mixpre 3 will fit in a small waist / fanny pack if you need to carry it around. Get 2 mixpre 3’s and ditch the 633, doesn’t sound like you need all the features the 633 offers. 2 mixpre 3’s gives you 6 preamps, TC, and are probably lighter than the 633 alone
  14. Thoughts if you think the Sync Track E will be a direct competitor to Lectrosonics PDR or MTCR or not. seems to me the 32 bit float might give an edge to tentacle since your not able to monitor the audio. but the build quality and stand alone operation on MTCR, PDR is a plus for Lectro.
  15. I had problems with Wisycom with ultrasonic light sensors in office buildings, I went back to Lectrosonics because of that. I think they have since solved that issue on newer units.
  16. Cool Doc!! I got to be in studio A at Ocean Way several times when I worked for a studio equipment rental company. It was my favorite studio with all the lights and neon.
  17. Yes you need to get a 1/4 20 reducer the clamp and arm are all available on amazon from smallrig. I think I got the reducer from B&H 3/8 to 1/4-20
  18. MixPre 6 with MX powersled Lectrosonics SRC x2 Original Tentacle Sync AudioRoot BDS with 98wh battery Zaxcom ZMT3-X Z for Stereo Hop, using Tentacle Sync to jam it’s TC gen. Orca OR-270
  19. Time of day is what your current selection is, not what you will select if you touch the selection. What other options do you get when you select mode.
  20. Can those with ZMT3-X please post what mics and gain setting they are using. I just picked up some DPA 4063 and I have to set the gain between 28-30 to get a decent level but it’s noisy
  21. I use B3 and also have noticed they are noisier than other mics I’ve used. I’m using them with Lectrosonics too.
